Obama During Monday Night Football Interview: If You Lose, Reporters Treat You Like a ‘Bum,’ If You Win They Treat You Like a ‘God’

During a halftime interview on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, President Obama made some comments that some media critics will find interesting.

“It’s interesting. Political reporters are a lot like sports reporters,” Obama said after being asked about repeating as president. “… You lose a game, and you’re a bum. You win a game, you’re a god.”

The obvious conclusion by those who have thought the media has been soft on the president is that he has, at times, been treated like a god. And it seems even he has noticed.

Still, Obama went on to note that even he is human:

“And, the truth is, just like in sports, in politics, we’re all human. We make mistakes. Sometimes we perform well. But the key is just to stay focused on what it is that you’re doing. And in sports, it’s about winning championships. Interesting — in politics, it’s not winning elections. It’s making sure that you’re delivering for the folks who sent you.”

We haven’t seen as many halos around Obama’s head like we did in’08. While he still thinks he’s god, most people have now seen Obama as a delusional Mr. ID.

i dont really have a problem with his comments on this, he is right, he was making an analogy of politics to sports where if you do something good you great treated amazing, if you do something bad, those same people hate you…

he is right, now with him its a little different….. if Obama does something bad white people are holding him down and Chris Matthews thinks the sky is falling, everything else they treat him like a “god”
but i think the analogy holds pretty true, maybe the word “god” wasn’t the best choice…

That’s actually an accurate observation… I started listening to Imus because he was on WFAN Sports-Radio in NY…. from Imus i veered off to Rush, Levin, Beck, etc. It was an easy conversion because the talk/ call-in format for politics/ sports radio is the same…. You get the same regulars calling, the occasional odd pop-culture distraction, and heated debate..

I know of 4 people that have not voted in over 10 years that will vote for Romney, 3 people that will not vote for BO again.

I drive from the east coast to the west coast of Florida on a weekly bases, and since the debates have seen a weekly increase of Romney signs, with only 3 total for BO
