‘I Have the Right to Vote! I Have the Right to Vote!’: Heated Confrontations Break Out as VA Polls Close

Things got tense at one northern Virginia polling location Tuesday night after several residents showed up to cast ballots after the polls had already closed.
An Associated Press videographer captured poll workers shouting down the street in Arlington, Va. as the clock ticked down to 7 p.m., with one worker declaring all voters must be standing in front of him in order to be eligible.
“The line will close at seven! I have 30 seconds. Please make sure you’re ahead of me,” he said.
After the time was up, several residents who showed up late insisted they be allowed to cast ballots.
“I have the right to vote! I have the right to vote!” one man demanded.
A volunteer offered latecomers the opportunity to cast provisional ballots.

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 9:51amNorthern VA is many illegals and many government workers. If DOD has to really cut jobs I hope they remember who they voted for and it will serve them right. Some of the highest priced homes in the country will turn in to ghettos

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 10:44pmLunkheads, if I can get up BEFORE work, vote, then go to work, then YOU can too. YOU had ALL day to vote, but chose not to show up until very late. Nobody’s fault, but YOUR OWN.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 10:39pmYou had 13 hours to get ot he pulls today not to mention the ability to do early voting weeks in advance. Instead of acting on those options you came running up the street screaming about your rights. Get a freaking clue!!!!!

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 10:39pmHardly…we’ll have to see who wins Ohio, Virginia and Florida. If Obama wins in Florida, there is no path to victory for the Governor.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 10:07pmIt looks like Obama is going to win Ohio and Florida. Honestly, if that happens the GOP only has themselves to blame. Next time, dont shove a liberal down our throats like you did with McCain and then Romney.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 10:25pmObama is going to probably pull this off because Romney was dead on, when he said that 47 percent were likely in the bag for Obama. The Press ginned-up the remainder to get him over the hump. We, our Country, is in trouble. My children and grand children are going to be far worse off than I. I fear the worse is yet to come.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 10:27pmWhile I somewhat agree with the basis of your argument with a conservative light, or progressive / light choice with McCain or Romney… The hardcore libertarians could actually get the finger pointing. It’s too early to say either way though. I understand their point, but ultimately if close they chose Obama based on “their principles” rather than slowing the gushing artery.
Maybe I’m reading too much into your post. I’m reading that you assume there will be another election if Mugabe wins? I supposed stranger things have happened, but a second term with this clown will be far worse than the first.
If libertarians want a serious shot get out in front of the elections – way out in front don’t wait until the cycle starts for the next debates. I like thinks about Ron Paul and actually Liked Gary Johnson a bit better, but a vote for them is a vote for Obama because there are only two people on this ballot – perhaps someday.
