Report: Reverend Who Said All Whites Are Going to Hell Will Be at Obama’s Election-Night Party

The Rev. Joseph Lowery’s proclamation — that all white people are hell-bound — apparently isn’t controversial enough for President Barack Obama to distance himself from the faith leader. Just days after the Monroe County Reporter highlighted the 91-year-old preacher’s alleged race-based proclamation (one that the preacher has since dismissed as a mere joke), Lowery will reportedly spend time with the Obama family on election night.

The Georgia Tipsheet has more the civil rights leader’s election-night plans:

…the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday morning that Lowery, who was among the president’s earliest supporters in the state and delivered the benediction at his 2009 inauguration, would be at the Obama campaign’s election night party in Chicago. A campaign spokeswoman did not respond to a request for confirmation by Tipsheet, however.

Lowery has since clarified that his remarks were intended as a joke–one, he said, he’s told a “million” times previously–even as the small-town journalist who first reported them denies that characterization.

Lowery, who founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., made the controversial statement about whites and hell during a recent rally at St. James Baptist Church in Forsyth, Georgia. While he said he initially believed as a young militant that Caucasians were hell-bound, he said that this view eventually tempered — but that he now, once again, embraces this notion.

As TheBlaze’s Madeleine Morgenstern reported, The Reporter paraphrased Lowery’s comments and did not provide a direct quote relating to those remarks. Also, it appeared as though he was using hyperbole to make his point, not stating a factual theological conclusion.

Report: Rev. Joseph Lowery Will Be at Obamas Election Night Party

The Rev. Joseph Lowery speaks during a press conference with a coalition of civil rights and attorneys groups saying African-American judges are disappearing from the bench in one of Georgia’s most heavily-populated black counties and being replaced by white appointees Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Atlanta.  Credit: AP

However, his comments about whites — statements he now claims were said in a joking manner — weren’t the extent of his controversial commentary.

“I don’t know what kind of a n—er wouldn’t vote with a black man running,” Lowery reportedly said. “All that he did with the stimulus was genius. Nobody intelligent would risk this country with Romney.”

The famed preacher later told The Daily Caller that he doesn’t recall uttering these latter quotes.

If we all whites do go to hell, I’m satisfied we’ll have plenty of company from the opposite race. I don’t understand how someone who claims to be Christian could make such a general statement about whites, but then I don’t understand where black liberation theology comes from. I’ve seen no passages in the Bible to support it.

ENIG: I think black liberation ” theology ” is a lie. It is NOT theology. It is a political movement, not a religious one. Sort of like the Muslim militants use Islam to achieve their political goals. All material. Not spiritual.

This man is going to stand before God and be judged harshly for his sowing of discord among brethren. They should defrock him. I suspect God only allows him to live because He doesn’t want him to go to hell. This man is a false teacher and needs Christ as His personal Lord and Savior.

      Come on Mat!

You know that here in VAHGINYA, a gentleman doesn’t wear his victories or his defeats on his sleeve!

Be discreet when you see Obama being arrested, tried for treason, convicted and executed for what he did to those four heroes. Downplay the glee and keep on truckin’.

“I don’t know what kind of a n—er wouldn’t vote with a black man running,”
Martin Luther King, Jr. wouldn’t – he’d look at the man’s character instead of something as superficial as their skin color.

I wonder if people will still look up to Martin Luther King Jr. when the rest of the FBI’s surveillance they conducted on Mr. King is released in 2027. From what is already in the public domain has shown he liked young women and cocaine, but that he did feel guilty and realized he was sinning.

Does it even matter anymore? I mean really, dude (Obama) flaunts it in front of the nation. His nazi wife is a hot mess his past is littered with radicals and revolutionaries. He just laughs at all of us. NOBODY CARES!!!! The media sure doesn’t. Average Americans sure don’t. Is there anyone that he couldn’t invite? Seriously. If he invited Chavez, Castro, and Kim Jong Un would it make a difference? The media wouldn’t cover it and people would go on about their lives. That this election is this close should tell you all something about the former Republic in which you live.

There isn’t anything left. Most Americans are thoughtless trolls failed by the education system into mindless consumerism and nanny state fandom. The rest of us are left to watch the destruction and prepare to resist subjugation.

Trust me average Americans care about the company Obama keeps. I own a Hydroshop in Bakersfield, CA and trust me my average customer is either a gangster or a hippy and even they hate Obama. Hate for Obama is ubiquitous in America today, and this fact will be illustrated tonight. Go Vote B1tch3s.

He’s pulled the scales off of ‘brainwashed’ YT’s eyes. If you live around blacks any length of time, you know they think this way. I dealt with it back in the late 70′s. Nothing’s changed, except a lot of smart, older whites have been replaced by a bunch of dumbed-down, brainwashed whites. My version of hell existed when I lived around N199ers like this.

I’ll quit being facetious to make this one point. I grew up in an area where I was the only white kid and one thing it’s taught me is that white people are by far the least racist of the races. I believe it’s good that Obama is president for the one fact that he’s opened up white American’s eyes to the fact that most racism comes from the minorities. Think about this Norteano’s (Northerners if you call them “Bustas” they get pissed) and Sureno’s (Southerners if you call them “Scraps” they get pissed) two hispanic gangs. The Norteno’s consider themselves to be Americanized while the Sureano’s consider themselves Mexican. That’s what’s driving the Hispanic gangs here in CA pure and simple, xenophobia. It has nothing to do with drugs because if it did then white people would make gangs to sell their drugs, but white people don’t do that they just sell their drugs and lay low.

There are more chips on black shoulders than at McDonalds. Like Muslims they seem come into this world with a permanent sense of outrage, which is nurtured through childhood and beyond by those that would blame others for their every (usually) self-inflicted misfortune. Someone should be teaching these petulent blacks who cry racism at every opportunity, that they are the masters of their own ships and that responsibility is not a dirty word.
