Chris Matthews Concludes: ‘I’m So Glad We Had That Storm Last Week…Politically’

Let’s start off by saying that it was a late night on Tuesday for the pundits. But that said, Chris Matthews probably wishes he could take back his closing remarks on election night. The MSNBC anchor casually said about Hurricane Sandy and its affect on the election: “I’m so glad we had that storm last week.”

Now, co-anchor Rachel Maddow voiced displeasure with an “ooh.” Matthews quickly, then, added a caveat: the storm was only good “politically” not “in terms of hurting people.” Still, he said it “brought in the possibility for good politics,” possibly referring to Obama coming together with NJ Gov. Chris Christie.

Fellow panelist Lawrence O’Donnell could be seen simply shaking his head:

UPDATE:

Matthews has now apologized. You can watch that here.

Mathews, you pathetic poor excuse for a human being, we know exactly what you meant, you, just exactly like your party, gives a hooray for the storm, and to hell with the people who had to suffer because of it as long as your buddie, Obarry won, how sick is that? I bet plenty of them had wished NOW, they had voted differently , after that un-sensitive, selfish liberal remark. How dare you praise such an incident over human beings, you selfish BASTARD.

This is going to sound very heartless but we decided this morning that we will give no money to any organization for victims of the storms in the northeast. We regularly give to charity but we will choose from now on to give to areas of the country like Joplin and Nashville. These cities, when they were extremely hard hit by tornado and flood, picked themselves up and got on with it, not expecting help from the nanny state. We were in the process of deciding between giving a sum of money to either Sandy relief or The Joshua Fund (a charitable organization that helps families in Israel who are displaced by Hamas and Hezbollah rocket attacks) – we chose The Joshua Fund. The entire northeast has decided to cling to their Government Sugar Daddy so, I say, let them. Hope it works out well, folks. You don’t want my help anyway. And oh, by the way, northeasterners, in case you hadn’t heard, your precious Chris Matthews is glad the storm hit you. What a guy!

I am guessing that you are a republican, so am i. i live in the nyc area and my entire life has changed with this storm. Communities are coming together here to try to get back on our feet. From one republican to another i would hope you would be better than that. If you have anything extra to donate i would greatly apreciate it. Lets not be like the libs and hate people whome we disagree. Trust me i disagree with everything liberals have to say. I hate bloomberg with such a passion. As rubublicans we are better than all this hatred

So much for Glenn’s theory that God will save us. If Sandy was an act of God then he must be against us now to give us a second term of this dictator. We must now trust to force of arms to separate from the left coasts and begin a new nation with out them. Let them wallow in welfare, social justice and enviro-nazism. They voted for failure, they own it. The red states from last night must secede and form a new America based on the principals of our founding.

Clean up America, kill a Communist.

Once again the Crazy Lady comments. (me) Why does everyone have such a hard time believing that our government is above manipulating the weather? Not creating the hurricane..just changing it’s path.
Remember, read, listen, learn. Check out HAARP and the weathermen that say, yes not only was this possible, but it was done! Remember when you thought Beck was crazy?
