So How Bad Is the Public Funding in Greece? A Brothel Is now Sponsoring an Elementary School
That Greece has major financial issues should come as a surprise to no one. But it’s interesting every now and then to put their problems into perspective.
For instance, because Greece’s public financing has become something of a national joke (i.e. there isn’t anything left), a school in Patra, located in the Peloponnese, recently accepted the financial sponsorship of brothel owner Soula Alevridou.
“Following an open invitation for sponsorship launched by a Patra elementary school parents association, Alevridou pledged to donate 3,000 euros to the educational facility in order to cover for a series of operational costs, a daily Peloponnesian newspaper reported,” Kathimerini reports.
“According to reports, the funds would be used to purchase a photocopier and a library for the school,” the report adds.
The important thing to consider here is the word “sponsorship.” You know what this means, right?
“[A] whorehouse is advertising its ‘services’ to children in an elementary school,” writes at Zero Hedge bluntly note.
Yep. A brothel stepped up and offered to sponsor the school. And what does the school get in return? Money for a photocopier and a library.
“This is what complete social collapse looks like,” Zero Hedge grouses. “First, the local Neo Nazi party has soared in the polls and is now the third most popular Greek party. Then, in lieu of other sources of capital, a local brothel became the head sponsor of a minor-league soccer club from Larissa.”
“Now, the same brothel which appears to have seen a substantial return on its advertising spend, has decided to branch out… straight into a local elementary school,” they add.
Final Thought: What else was the school board to do? They needed the cash and Alevridou, who is turning a tidy profit, took them up on their offer. There just simply wasn’t any public funding available.
But should this come as a surprise?
In statist countries like Greece, where the government spends more than it takes in and then tries to tax the difference, “eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

Posted on November 8, 2012 at 12:42pmThis is what the progressives want for us. For the world. They are going for a complete breakdown, world wide. All at once. This is the original dream of Marx and Engels. Once accomplished, they put their people in charge. Exactly the same tactics the Islamic Brotherhood is using. When all governments are controlled by their operatives it is easy to implement one world government.

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 4:02pmIt’s interesting that Greece is being held up as the paragon of financial ruin because, like the United States, it once had its “Golden Age.” During that time, Greece had a booming economy and produced the finest thinkers, artists, actors, mathematicians, athletes, and military. The Greeks adored dramas and theater and worshipped the feats of their Olympic athletes. Greece, unfortunately, also had its tyrants who sought to destroy this once great civilization. America, our “golden age” is behind us as well. We are now in the hands of tyrants while many in this nation are too blinded by the razzle dazzle of hero worship to understand the peril. “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it” (George Santayana).

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 3:57pmGod help us. Our focus needs to be on Jesus, and less on the rulers of the world.
Fear of man is sure to lay snare. Another words, if we fear man and what man can do to us, we lose sight of God and what he Will do for us. David focused on the fact that he served a mighty God, and Goliath (the big man) was coming against the “Army of the living God”. The rest is history. Focus on God not our Goliath.

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 4:35pmYOUR focus may need to be on Jesus…
MY focus may need to be on Jesus…
but as soon as you start saying OUR focus needs to be on Jesus you inadvertently advocate for collective salvation and, in itself, become a Theocratic Progressive. Save as many souls as you can, but don’t fool yourself into ever believing that the U.S. government needs to become more Christian.

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 3:31pmTake a good look, ladies. This is what is in store for you when you vote with your lady parts. Your children’s education needing to be funded by the sale of those lady parts. What is the difference between one of the Brothel employees and the Wh@res in Washington? When one gives money to the Brothel employee one gets what they pay for and it isn’t forced from them at gun point.

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 3:20pmIt only works because the brothel is privately owned. The United States seized a brothel in Nevada (The Mustang Ranch) and was so incompetent in it’s management that it went out of business. Only in America!

Or…
What’s the school mascot… dead eyes, a vibrator?
don’t give the Left any ideas… making kids ‘see how men subjugate women and make them earn a living with their bodies’ sounds like just the sort of sensationalist class that would be heralded as revolutionary, while depicting all women (and men) as being like a fraction of a percent…
sort of like whenever the MSM shows you titillating images of women dancing around poles to plug their ‘expose’ of the horrors of the skin trade. H Y P O C R I S Y

Posted on November 7, 2012 at 3:16pmDoes Greece have mentally ill Congressmen as well? I say this to the Republican House; let the Democrats raise taxes as they wish. This is the only way in which their electorate will realize what a mistake it would be. Job losses would mount, and the cost of goods would sky-rocket. But hey, the 1% would be paying their “fair share!” (please note sarcasm)
