What Was Mitt Romney Doing the Morning After Losing the Election? Winning

The morning after the election, as conservatives everywhere were still trying to come to terms with the reality of another four years of President Barack Obama, the now former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney was busy being a dad, husband and grandfather. A winner.

In a heartwarming photo tweeted by Garret Jackson, one of Romney’s close personal aides, the Republican can be seen unwinding on Wednesday morning, surrounded by his kids and grandchildren near his campaign headquarters in Boston, an exhausting and hard fought presidential campaign now officially behind him. The Romney clan can be seen drinking a gallon of chocolate milk.

“Gov hanging out with family this morning. What an incredible family. So blessed to be so close to them,” the accompanying message read.

What Was Mitt Romney Doing the Morning After Losing the Election? Winning

(Twitter)

As it turns out, Tuesday night was a win-win for Romney — and he won big. He will have more time to spend with the people he loves; his wife Ann, his kids, his grandchildren. And while Romney will not become the next president of the United States, it reminds us that there is much more to life than politics. Yes, the battles in Washington, D.C. will undoubtedly rage on, but the picture above proves that the most important things in life can never be taken from us — not by an out-of-control government, not by any one president.

So, what does the future hold for Romney? The former Massachusetts governor plans to make the significant transition out of the public eye for the time being. He plans to “reflect and spend time with his family” before determining exactly what his next move will be, according to an advisor.

“I don’t look at post-election to be a time of regrouping. Instead it’s a time of forward focus,” Romney told reporters aboard his plane Tuesday evening as he returned to Boston after the final campaign stop of his political career. “I have, of course, a family and life important to me, win or lose.”

It wasn’t immediately clear if Romney will seek an ongoing role in a Republican Party. With a successful career in the private sector, he could secure a position in private business. Those close to Romney also suggest he could purse philanthropic opportunities or even play a role in the Olympics after having led the 2002 Winter Games.

“He’s not a guy who’s going to stay still, right,” said Russ Schriefer, one of Romney’s top strategists. “He’s not a guy that’s just going to hit a beach, play a lot of golf. He’ll do something.”

Romney would have been the greatest president since Lincoln. He is brilliant, principled and he knows how to fix things. He would have fixed the American economy.

You people who think that Romney was anything at all like McCain are quite foolish indeed. Romney has had a successful career as a businessman, and he pulled the Olympics out of a dreadful mess which had been caused by corruption among top Olympics management before Romney arrived.

America missed a golden opportunity to elect a man who was eminently qualified in every way to be president. We will never have an opportunity like the one we just blew.

A second Obama term will be even more disastrous than the first one was. What a terrible, terrible shame.

True. Romney is an exceptional man. The media will go to the pit for what they have done. They relentlessly vilified a good and incredibly competent man, and exalted an evil, stupid and incompetent radical. The media are nothing but a bunch of putrid, disgusting human beings. If there is justice this side of eternity, someday, one by one, they will stand before a firing squad.

You have blacks that voted strictly based on race, but the “chosen people” controlled Marxist Media won’t call them out on it. This is the beginning of the end for this country. We reap what we sow. Go back to Bain we all know you never left. And never darken The White House’s door again.

This election shows that Conservative style of government is not wanted in this country.

You guys made this moderate guy run as a conservative. Made him select a conservative running mate. And America said NO. Just except that America isn’t the White only Americana of the 1950′s It is a Big huge melting pot as the founding fathers wanted. Freedom of Religion, freedom of choice, and freedom to choose how to live your life and vote your ideals and America’s Ideals today aren’t yours.

But whats great about this country and makes it the greatest in the world is you get to change it every 2 and 4 years. Better luck next time. Try not being so hard core and open your minds to all choices not just yours.

Who can best fix what we have gotten into?
Who can get all Americans working again?
Who can get us back on track to be the country with the fewest on welfare and highest standard of living for all Americans?

“In a nation of children, no one beats Santa Claus”.

      Clint said,
“If somebody’s not doing his job, you’ve gotta’ let him go”-
      unfortunately,

      When the right,
whether it be the citizen or Donald Trump
      mentions “revolution”,
      the bleedia-schmedia goes ballistic-
they NEVER have a problem when the dirtbags on the left,
      shout it from the sky,
      while defecating on police cars,
while trespassing & destroying public property,
while stealing “Romney” campaign signs & shoving them into their Union trucks.

Everything they do is smarmy, no matter how small or big.
      I can guarantee you,
no one on the right sunk so low,
to drive around in their small business vehicle
or family van, confiscating “Obama” signs.

Just as, the Revolutionary War started with a tax revolt-
it is not out of the question to suspect another
or to EVEN question the nature of one-
whether it comes from the lips of American citizens or Trump.

Who realized the left owned the rights to the word, “revolution” ?
Brave Americans died to give that right to all countrymen,
      not just the left.
I seriously doubt the left could pass a pop quiz on the Revolutionary War,
      leave alone American history-

@January24, I agree.. even though I didn’t like him initially, it was probably because I didn’t know him. Once I watched GB’s special on Mitt and did more research myself I knew he and Ryan would do the job needed to get America working again and back on track.

I do blame Bush and the RINO’s, when we had control, we didn’t dismantle what was put in place, a big mistake. I was in the middle of “building my career” and wasn’t as involved as I have been the past few years.. although I was aware.. and informed.. (always have been)..

Anyway I am moving to Galt’s Gulch.. which right now is Texas.. I am in PA and i am making plans to leave come March 2013.. I have had enough of the people here.. PA is no longer a swing state.. It is a blue state.. Anyway.. We have to go somewhere which is still like the old America I knew and grew up with and then run for office to keep it that way. Those are my plans..

OK… here is what needs to be said about Romney. Sorry, the truth sucks. The fact is. Romney lost because he refused to call out Obama as the traitor and America-hater that he is. It is that simple. Mccain(the gutless spiness puke that he is) was harder on’THAT ONE” then Romney. Respect Mccain’s military career, but as a politician, he is weak. Romney should have said he would have eliminated everyone of Obama’s executive orders, called Obama a traitor, and stated that he would dissolve the Fed.
We can complain all we want now. The fact of the matter is…. Uness there is a military takeover of Washington or a revolution by solid Americans……. WE ARE FINISHED. That’s it. Sorry. The wake up call was made a long time ago. Unless we decide to take back our country, we may as well hids in a corner somewhere and wait for the SOBs to come and drag us off to Bill Ayers Re-education centers. Think that’s funny??? If you do do, you do not understand history. Good luck. God is passing judgement on us right now. 54,000,000 abortions here is in the same paying field as hitler and Stalin……. thjink we are still a God-fearing nation? I agree with those who saw Romney as a fine candidate and who say he could possibly have been the finest president we would’ve had in a long, long time. Just read his _No Apology_ to realize he’s the real deal, no RINO. He’s a good, good man, a compassionate human being who loves his country and has solid (though not always popular) conservative principles. Yet he is not the social extremist he was painted to be. Furthermore, he is actually a real heavyweight intellect, though he did not seem able to put that across – perhaps that was one of his main failings. That and the media/obama machine who really maimed his character is what’s responsible for his loss. Glad he’s at peace enjoying his family, but hope and pray to God he’s back in full swing some day!

I hear statements like, “It’s weird that turnout was so low….that Romney lost by such a wide margin….that McCain did better than Romney.” The problem with those statements is that they’re not true. Romney won this election….literally. One day, when the truth is made known, we’ll see that this election was won by Romney. Obama was not elected, he was selected. Obama had no momentum, most people thought we were on the wrong track, Independents broke for Romney. Remember the lines to vote? Remember Chick-Fil-A? Do you think the election results were real? Do you think Romney “got a fair shot”? The voice of the people was not heard, and this nation’s cup of iniquity runneth over.

And Obama was already in the dumpster on his side. It makes NO logical sense. Brings to mind another moment of cognitive disconnect: the outcome of the courtroom drama that dominated 1994. Mitt Romney was busy being a dad, husband and grandfather. A winner….. This makes him no more of a winner than millions of other dads, husbands and grandfathers. He lost because he lied and lied repeated. He lost because he had no honor. He lost because he played fast and loose with the truth. This is why he lost independent votes like mine. I voted for Reagan, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. Romney lied about Welfare to Work, Medicare benefit cuts and Jeep jobs to China. And when confronted regarding the lies he continued them, his campaign stated they would not run a campaign based on fact checkers and his wife when asked about his lies stated he believes very strongly in certain things. Unfortunately believing something strongly doesn’t make it right or the truth. But it does say something about you as the individual who LOST.

WHY DID 3 MILLION REPUBLICANS STAY HOME?

Patrick Buchanan wrote that 67 percent of voters are white and if the GOP ignores trying to get Hispanic and Black voters they can win elections. The GOP did not offer me a white male anything other than what they offered blacks and tans. I wanted …
      1. Real estate tax exemption
      2 Energy tax relief
      3. Internet privacy
      4. Abolishment of TSA
      5. I wanted my Bill of Rights Restored
      6. Election of Supreme Court Judges

Nothing was offered. Romney was not a Conservative and the GOP Elites (McCain, Bohnier, Gramm, McConnel, Bush) sabotaged GOP candidates because they wanted Obama to win to make room for Jeb Bush (McCain III) in 2016.

I would remind the Romney detractors here that Ronald Reagan was not the Ronald Reagan we came to know when he was elected in 1980. He was painted as an ex-Democrat RINO flip flopper who was a former governor of a mostly liberal state and who compromised way too much. Sound familiar?

Presidents grow into the office and how they grow is determined by their personality. We watched Reagan become Reagan as events unfolded. We watched Bush, for all his faults, man up on 9-11. We have watched Obama shirk responsibility, show indifference to suffering, and lie with ease. Whatver is there gets magnified by the office.

Romney was not my first choice. But I believe the presidency would have brought out Romney’s strengths. I also believe he is exactly what we needed for this country at this time. But we’ll never get to see it. Our loss.

Most of the people commenting on this thread will be standing in a gov’t food line in the near future. Others could quite possibly be indefinitely detained through the powers afforded by the NDAA and CISPA. Both of these unconstitutional laws were supported by Mitt Romney, voted in FAVOR of by Paul Ryan, and finally signed into law by Obama. Mitt Romney is a flip-flopping progressive who supports the indefinite detention of American citizens.
If you are a Romney supporter; and are in favor of detaining American citizens WITHOUT warrants or a court order, you’re a bigger problem for America than the corrupt politicians who currently RULE over us.

Shame on supposed “independents” (I am one) who are so damn wishy washy that they don’t have, nor can they recognize core values in another and claim to vote for the “best candidate”, therefore they will vote for a socialist one election then a conservative the next. Shame on the libertarians (I am one) who voted for some non viable “purist” and helped Obama win. Shame on the evangelicals (I am one) who refused to vote based on Romneys religeon and therefore helped Obama win.

Refusing to vote is to vote. Voting for non viable candidates does not send a message you intend. It sends the message that you want the socialist to win. Pretending that the socialist is EVER the best candidate is foolish and dangerous.

No republican will ever DO again. The demographic shift which they have foolishly supported has destroyed them as a national party. They will still be able to hold sway in a few predominately white states–for a while at least. But even those states are highly dependent of federal funds for roads and partly funded federal mandates, so even Republican leaders in those states will have to dance to Washington’s tune until mass third world immigration pushes them out of power too.

      ——
You have no clue what a communist govt. is capable of. ”

It seems YOU have no clue what a communist government is. There has never been a true communist government. The examples people like to point to as communist like the former USSR and China are not communist governments. They are socialist dictatorships. The people have no real say in what is done. The people don’t own anything. The government owns everything and hands down orders to the people and those who do not obey are dealt with severely. The only problem with communism is the fact that it is incompatible with human nature. We are individuals each with our own strengths and weaknesses. Each with different drives. Communism requires everyone to be the same. everyone to put the good of the group above themselves. This is why every attempt at forming a government based on communism has always collapsed into dictatorships.

So, with all the electronic voting machines that were clearly registering incorrectly, how do we know that a fix is not in? The electronic revolution has done two things. It has made access to information incredibly easy to our benefit and made access to information incredibly easy to our detriment. When it’s all digital, with a keystroke you can change it – ALL – to just what you want. And where were the electronic voting machines? Key counties in all states? I don’t know, but if you can think of it, it has probably already happened.

I hate what I am seeing. If there wasn’t a fix, then this country is filled with people who can’t think beyond what they are going to “get” out of a candidate.

The guy also donated the max amount to Barry’s re-election campaign. Anyone care to tell me why a foreign based company has access to election results before the American public??

I know I don’t have a lot of faith in the voting machines at all, but don’t care at this point. There was plenty of video evidence and testimonials about the primaries, that if it did happen it was just karma. The establishment is just going to keep putting up two candidates that really don’t reflect Americans’ interest though. I know I haven’t seen anything about how well GJ has done. I was thinking the same thing about voter fraud. Obama and his Chi-town commies are the ends justify the means crowd and should not be trusted at any level. Voters have no way of knowing how their vote was ultimately counted.
Voting laws should require and provide a method enabling voters to verify their vote after it has been counted.

I slept very restlessly last night, waking up several times with the thought – My heart is broken.

I thought today would be my first peaceful and hopeful day regarding our country in 4 years. Instead, we now face the end of the America I loved and grew up in. My grandchild will never know that America, and I ache for him because of that. This has been the best country on earth. And now 50% of our neighbors no longer want responsible freedom and the joy of feeling the accomplishment in “building that.” I never thought this country would go that way – ever. This country could only fall from within. And we’re heading down that path now at break-neck speed – on purpose. By choice. By vote.
I thought I’d wake up with hope and joy today. Instead, my heart is broken.
But I await what God has in store because I trust Him, and I know it will be something far beyond my imagination.

DADDY – One cannot save oneself no matter how hard you try. Our Lord Jesus Christ died in our place to save mankind from eternal death. Your soul has been saved if you’ve accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour.

Everyone, don’t be sad. All things work together for good according to His purpose. He knows our needs and hears our prayers. We didn’t get the man we wanted for president. His ways are higher than our ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He has something better for us. Each day as the world turns, we move closer to that glorious and wonderful day when our Lord returns. In order for that to occur, this nation must be diminished in power on the world platform. Put your trust in Him who is in total control and has told us of what to look for before His coming.

As for Mitt, I would have loved to have him as President, but stop and think:how far would he have gotten with this Senate, as it fell out? Mitt’s plan was to get Americans back to work, but a huge percentage don’t want to work. I see it in my own neighborhood. He wouldn’t have been able to achieve what he wanted to achieve. Romney is a moral and decent man and the Republican Platform supported life and traditional marriage (God’s values), but the Democrats in their convention actually booed God and the idea of God even being mentioned in their platform. They booed against saying Jerusalem was the capitol of Israel, but God says Jerusalem is his city. They support abortion and homosexual marriage. But the majority of this country went with their own selfish interests and bought what was fed to them about economic issues. And the irony is that Romney probably could have turned the economy around if people would have voted for God’s agenda, his Principles (seek yea first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto it), and the economy would have improved because God’s purpose was first to restore this country to the founders values – this was a country founded on Judeo/Biblical principles and it thrived and prospered. But we as a country have abandoned those and therefore judgement is upon us. You will see the dark will get darker and the light lighter. The next 4 years will be much worse then the last 4 and Obama won’t have George Bush to blame for the economy now the previous president is him.

Thank you Mitt Romney for trying to come to the aid of your country. I pray the blessings of the Almighty on your family. Anne would have made a very classy first lady and you would have brought dignity back to the presidency.

Mitt, Governor, Brother Romney, please help us to organize for 2014 and ’16. We need your help for America to succeed. Maybe you can do more to help change Washington from the outside than you ever could have from the Oval Office. We will all help, just lead us, Inspire us, to save this once great nation. May God bless you and your family.

I agree with both responses. God no longer has a hand in this. America is now in the hands of evil. This may be the great battle I don’t know. But with free reign, barry will destroy us. And we, collectively, deserve it for choosing him.

I have to share this from a friend who grew up in the Philippines and is now a US citizen I let her words speak for themselves:

Us Christians we do need to unite, there’s got to be some Christians that are for God. We need to unite. I wonder if there’s more carnal Christians in churches and they dominate few real Christians? Is this for real? If this is real what’s going to happen to America? I have watched this election was somehow is a similar pattern with the election in the Philippines, the lies, they buy votes in the Philippines, the candidates gives money to people, if you’re a candidate and if you want to win, then you need to give more money to each voters then you’ll get their votes. It’s a beautiful country, but there’s so much corruption ever since I could remember. So fear grips on kids that are growing, because of poverty, the children’s dreams are stalked by stagnancy of the economy for months and years and decade. And most dreams dies with them… It is so evil, no wonder why God says, if His people comes to Him and repent a real repent then He will heal our land…

I agree with the sentiments of all these posts, and want to congratulate you for the effort that you gave. Unlike others who post here, I was a supporter during the primary season because I knew that Mitt had the qualities to turn the economy around, as well as principled enough to provide healing that this nation so desperately needs. You can tell that Mitt brought a level a fear to the Obama campaign, as Mitt was able to secure tens of thousands at Mitt’s rallies in the last couple of weeks. I certainly wish Mitt the best.

BWAHAHAHA He’s going to have to start blaming his first term as President for the poor results occurring during his second.

“Make no mistake and let me be clear, the rapid costs of healthcare are the results of a very poorly conceived plan by my 1st term advisors. I’ve fired all of them, mostly, and now have both hands on the wheel and have sobered up a bit, HICKUP. Anyone got a smoke?”

I thank Mr. Romney for the tremendous time and effort he put forth trying to re-claim America away from the international Far Left who have been Occupying the White House for the past four years. We have a much harder and longer battle ahead of us. The Media is the first beach we need to take . That will NOT be easy with the Soros funds and determination to battle. Again, I thank Mr. Romney and his family for having to endure the insults of the Far Left Media . They are a nasty , well-funded, and powerful adversary.

He had no reason to run other than his own personal ambition? The GOP lost it’s soul because of Romney? Now he’s going to just sit around and retire? You have some pretty bold claims – too bad they are without factual references. Observe: Obama was born as a son to a Kenyan warlord. (notice the lack of references/facts) I don’t expect anyone will believe me, but maybe I’ll sound smart if I post it anyway.

No problem with wealth – but Romney is ultimately responsible for delaying the rebirth of this country by at least 4 years. That extra 4 years or more will cost untold trillions in debt. The party might not ever recover what was lost in the Great Purge culminating at the convention

Romney should have done the honorable thing and retired after starting Romneycare in MA and not being able to win re-election as governor. Instead, his desire for power compelled him to run for president and spend $20 million of his own money (2007). If that werent enough, he spent the next couple years winning over the republican establishment so that he could not be denied the nomination in 2012. He won the nomination but had no ideas for the general election other than wrapping himself in the flag – because he was doing it out of pure ambition.

Most people would seek to live out their retirement and hard-earned wealth in peace. This guy wanted power so bad he was willing to risk it all for a job that no sane person in his position would want. And we are all worse of because of it

We lost the chance at re-gaining our country when Mr. Romney – got this election stolen from him.
Before I knew Mr. Romney, I thought he was just a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’. But I’ll tell you what, after I learned who he REALLY is, I’ve realized how much ‘we the people’ are missing out on a GREAT president. The Odumbo administration know how good of a man he is too, that’s why they stole this election from him. They know he would have gotten this country on the right track and off this socialist, communist, muslim track its on…. and like Mr. Romney said…. “I wouldn’t tell Vladimir that I’ll have more flexibility after the election” – Thank you Mr. Romney for your HARD work. SOYBOMB315_II one you are jealous of Mitts $200 … Two he won the primaries because he did a better job, Ron Paul and Anderson did not. Romney had money and backing and the others did not. Three most likely you did not support or vote for Romney because of the “lesser of two evils” or “he is not conservative enough.

you remind of people who don’t support their sports team if they are not wining. You believe If I don’t agree with you I am troll.

Romney should enjoy his wealth, his retirement comes from all his own efforts, even during his time spent as governor he never took the state pension, so not a dime of his retirement is coming out of taxpayers pockets. Hussein on the other hand, his ONLY retirement is coming from the government coffers, right out of our pockets.

Do you really believe he was only thinking of himself?

As you say, the Republican party is out of ideas. Is this really Mitt Romney’s fault?

Thankfully, nothing you say will change anything either.
