MSNBC’s Martin Bashir Mocks Krauthammer: ‘I Need to Apologize to Any Young Viewers Who May Have Been Frightened by That Face’

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir is known for sometimes launching into anti-Republican tirades. However, there’s a stark difference between poking at conservative policy standpoints and launching personal attacks. As for the latter tactic, Bashir is regularly more than willing to stretch his criticisms beyond the bounds of a an individual’s ideology.
Case in point: On Wednesday, he sarcastically apologized to young viewers who “may have been frightened by” commentator Charles Krauthammer’s face. The personal attack on the FOX News contributor was uttered during a segment in which Bashir was talking about the 2012 election with GQ Magazine’s Ana Marie Cox. After playing a clip of Krauthammer expressing optimism about the future of the GOP, the MSNBC host issued his offensive quip.
“I think the real story here is that Obama won, but he’s got no mandate here,” Krauthammer explained in the video. ”I think that the future of the party is quite bright.”
Rather than commencing his critique by speaking about Krauthammer’s claim that the party’s future looks bright, Bashir immediately said, “Now I need to apologize to any young viewers who may have been frightened by that face.”
Then, naturally, he and Cox went on to deride the Republican Party, using race as a benchmark for their claims. Watch the clip, below (around 4:20):

Krauthammer has more staying power than Bashir. Martin would do well to hold his tongue & gain additional wisdom.

The conservatives should put some of those poll-watching lawyers to work on issues such as the media helping with the Libya cover-up. Washington is corrupt and the media is complicit– literally, not figuratively.
Getting media bias and corruption into the spotlight should be our #1 project.

As for Krauthammer, he is the most professional person today in the media, he is admired by people on the left and the right. Martin is the most unprofessional person (on the same scale as Matthews, O’Donnell, and Maddow) in the media today…and who is only admired by the sick deranged far left in society today. Thank God the only chance I ever have of seeing his pathetic show is when I get a chance to defend someone I have long respected, Charles Krauthammer.

I guess with Chris Matthews you have to overlook him he has deep emotional problems. The others are just evil. Bashir, you haven’t looked in a mirror lately, you are as ugly as sin and can’t even begin to compete with Charles Krauthammer who is a doctor, a published author highly respected by both parties. Posted on November 8, 2012 at 2:41pmEven Donald Trump no longer harps on the birth issue. Hiding your college record is like hiding your tax record: something everyone has a perfect right to do.
Raising the top marginal tax by 3 or 4 percent is not Marxism.
Obama rightly concluded early on that if Muslims abroad wanted to overthrow their military despotisms, it was no business of the US to try to stop them, even if the consequences were unpleasant or only imperfectly democratic. Good call.
He has actually increased military aid to Israel. His quarrel is not with Israel but with Netanyahu, a judgment in which much of the IDF concurs.
The inquiry soon to begin will show that the Benghazi consulate’s requests for greater security were sent to the Libyan authorities, not Washington, that events on the ground unfolded too rapidly for any initiative from 5000 miles away to have saved the 4 lives that were lost, and that the emphasis on the infamous video was an effort to quell the unrest then spreading from Indonesia to Morocco. It was not just Benghazi that was at stake; the US had to make clear its official detestation of disrespect for any religion, and simultaneously its commitment to freedom of speech. It’s called “diplomacy.” Well played, Mr. President.
I understand you’re all hurting right now. I recommend that you light some scented candles, have a nice cup of herb tea, and soak for a while in a warm bubble bath. You’ll feel so much better.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 2:45pmMemphisViking:
Review the timeline. There were three attacks.
The first, at the consulate, lasted 2130-2300 (Libyan time). The nearest force able to mount a rescue, at the CIA annex, got orders from CIA in Tripoli (not Washington) to wait for Libyan reinforcements. This was the stand-down order referred to by Tyrone Woods. When no Libyans appeared, after 20 minutes he went ahead. His team arrived at 2240. They found Sean Smith’s body but not that of Chris Stevens, who was probably dead already from the smoke. Woods’ team got back to the annex at 2315.
The second attack, small-arms and RPG fire at the annex, lasted from midnight to about 0100. At 0115 CIA reinforcements, including Glen Doherty, flew in from Tripoli but spent 4 hours dealing with Libyan authorities before they could get to the annex,10 miles from the airport. They arrived at 0500. This delay conceivably involved official Libyan collusion with the attackers. Air power would not have been very useful in the dark, with friendly and hostile forces so intermingled.
The third attack, also at the annex and with mortars, began about 0500 and lasted 1/2 hour. This was the firefight in which Woods and Doherty died. Shortly after it ended, Libyan forces finally arrived to help.
Washington’s error, baked into the cake before 09/11/12, was relying too much on friendly Libyans. That night, CIA in Libya handled the situation on the ground as best they could. They deserve credit, that more lives were not

Theoretically, the White House, which was surely following the situation in real time, could have ordered massive military forces in from Italy. My guess, which will probably be borne out by the current Congressional investigation, is that Washington decided not to second-guess the people in Tripoli and Benghazi. This is not to excuse their failure to provide more security before the attacks, but, to repeat, the requests from Tripoli were for more security there, and those from Benghazi were directed at the local Libyan authorities. As for the post-morten emphasis on the video, I think I made my position clear in the post above. Mistakes were made, and someone will probably have to take the fall, but there is no further political capital to be extracted from this affair–except perhaps by the dministration, if and when the killers are brought to justice.

He is a zionist stooge, period. As for Romney, he is a Great man as far as I learned of him, Everyone just wants jobs; good paying jobs, and Romney seemed to be the better man. Romney was just too plain. He could have won the majority youth vote just by decriminalizing marijuana. The criminal Pharmaceutical Drug Dealers are destroying our youth and others with their narcotic/psychotic pills.
