Rep. Louie Gohmert Joins ‘Wilkow!’ to Discuss the Fiscal Cliff

Republican House Speaker John Boehner gave signs of a willingness to negotiate with Democrats on dealing with the fiscal cliff during remarks he made at a press event Thursday.

“If there is a mandate in yesterday’s results, it is a mandate for us to find a way to work together on solutions to the challenges we face together as a nation,” Boehner said Wednesday, going on to add that the Republicans in the House stand ready to work with the president to do what’s best for the country regarding the fiscal cliff. Boehner suggested an alternative to going over the fiscal cliff involving reforms to entitlement programs and eliminating loopholes and deductions in the tax code. Boehner said Republicans would be willing to accept some additional revenue increases that the president wants, but not through solely raising tax rates for the rich.

The Speaker’s olive branch and remarks Thursday about revenue increases have lead some conservatives to question what they see as an over willingness to compromise.

“He’s the problem with the GOP,” Andrew Wilkow said of Boehner on TheBlaze TV Thursday. “He has no conservative principles. He sheepishly said yes to revenue increases. You just gave up, what is the GOP now?”

Wilkow further criticized the Speaker’s unwillingness to take on Obama in stronger manner regarding what happened in Libya and on the Dream Act.

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert joined Wilkow!” Thursday to discuss the events leading up to the fiscal cliff, and plans now for the House Republicans to deal with the situation:

The bigger fiscal cliff is the fact that most american businesses will cut workers hours to less than 32 per week so that they can escape the cost of Obamacare, otherwise they will not be able to be viable. The american people have been duped by a snake oil salesmen, albeit a very good one, and they have bought the tonic. The age of the american slave is here. Not in chains, like Biden said, but in paycheck to paycheck, food stamp to food stamp, never having a chance to escape.
Tracy Chapman said it best ‘Gotta get a fast car…’ There is no fast car anymore, just sitting on the
doorstep, dreaming of what could be. Hand to mouth, brown bag in hand, holes in the coat. Airforce 1 flying overhead.

Why don’t you people get it right. The US went over the fiscal cliff when Nixon took the US off of the Gold Standard. What we are facing is how hard the landing is going to be at the bottom. It has not been a free fall. Even at one point during this tumble to the bottom the economy reached out and grabbed a branch but the Clinton administration and the republican congress let go. Bush stopped looking for something to grab hold of and Obama has streamlined our pell mell descent to the bottom. What is approaching is not the cliff but the sudden stop.

The battle lines are clearly drawn. Talking is done. Act. Give no quarter. None will be asked.

The really good and honest Republican Congressmen and women will now delcare their allegiances to the the principles of the Tea Party, and tell the Republican elite to take a hike. I don’t advocate an organized Tea Party — that won’t work any better than the Republican party who is controlled by the progressives. I advocate the conservative, Constitutional, principles that the movement has reflected.

And this is why the GOP is finished. Because the “compromise” is only prolonging the inevitable economic collapse. Boehner is the pied piper facilitating the collapse. I say bring on the starvation and chaos. The sooner it all comes apart, the sooner we can put it back together. The GOP is unsalvageable. R.I.P.
