Will Obama Go After Second Amendment Rights? Beck & NRA Head Examine What Lies Ahead

Earlier on Thursday TheBlaze published a report on how just hours after President Barack Obama secured a second term in the White House, the United States supported a U.N. bid Wednesday to reignite talks over an international treaty regulating the global conventional arms trade. Reuters added:

U.N. delegates and gun control activists have complained that talks collapsed in July largely because Obama feared attacks from Republican rival Mitt Romney if his administration was seen as supporting the pact, a charge Washington denies.

The month-long talks at U.N. headquarters broke off after the United States – along with Russia and other major arms producers – said it had problems with the draft treaty and asked for more time.

Glenn Beck and guest David Keene, who serves as president of the National Rifle Association, examined what will happen to Americans’ Second Amendment Rights under a another Obama term.

One indication American’s are concerned is marked by the tremendous increase in gun sales across the U.S. since the election.

“We can expect that he will go after the Second Amendment Rights in any way he can,” Keene said. He added that subtle ways in which the Obama administration can affect change include enacting measures that would increase the cost of guns and ammunition to the point where it becomes prohibitive for everyday Americans to afford.

  It is the ignorant children in the room who seeks to argue that any regulation or restrictions on guns is an attempt to eliminate the second amendment. It is the adult who considers the complexity that surrounds a reasonable and rational modern gun policy. For example, there is no rational for a private citizen to own, have access to or use a working assault weapon. A ban on assault weapons is neither intrusive nor an assault on the 2nd. amendment. The country is in the position it is on many issues because special interests groups take extreme positions under the notion it is necessary to protect the moderate position. This is both an arrogant and ignorant stance on both sides of any issue. And it is a great example of what is really the greatest threat to the US. Individuals, particularly of the me generation who have grown up under a Belief Entitlement. That is, a notion that if they believe something enough, that is the same as being the truth or factual. Beliefs take precedent over proven facts, scientific findings and rational analysis. However, similar to civil rights individuals need to remember that their civil rights and beliefs end at the tip of my nose where my begin. And yes beliefs that are rooted in facts, scientific findings and rational analysis are indeed BETTER than those that are merely held and reinforced by special interests groups who just keep repeating them.

  All the hunting clubs all over the United States of America should organize like the Tea Party. This right was given to citizens for a reason. It’s what stopped Japan from invading the US, probably want find that anywhere in the text books because America’s history is being erased.   So…..who defined “Assault” weapons? What criteria was used for that term? Who gave these people the authority to define it that way? Basically, it is always about “WORDS” and LABELING things to these liberals.   I find the hypocrisy nauseating. When you enlist in the Military, you are issued an assault weapon, and taught how to shoot it and take care of it. Now that you are a civilian, all of a sudden, you are too stupid or that gun is just too dangerous for you to own. This is the biggest lie and load of bull ever told.   I don’t want an assualt weapon. I want a semi-automatic M-16 configured weapon chambered for 5.56. I don’t want a pray and spray. The reason is simple. Ammo weight and resupply. So what if you stock up on ammo. All this does is tie you to your resupply point and limits maneuver. Of course my belief system says lone wolf only last a short bit of time. Like minded will gather together and that is when logistics and maneuver becomes important. If we are facing a war, it can’t be waged from my basement.

And for firearms, thankfully, there’s no record of Obama being openly against firearms rights when he was in Chicago or a Senator. Nope, none whatsoever. And his open declaration that he was open to reinstating the “assault weapons” ban, well, that simply didn’t happen. While I like wind and solar energy, I do not rely soley upon it nor do I think we, as a nation, can at this time. Sarah Brady, who is one of the leaders of the assault on private gun ownership, said this:

“Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed
when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.”

Mr Obama has indeed been working with them “under the radar”.

  I think I may just do that. I think that would be money well spent trying to protect the 2nd amendment…I am also planning to get myself a little insurance hardware for my home. I am starting to think that when those $900 a month welfare checks aren’t going as far as they used to because of inflation, Obama’s voting base may start trying to “shop” around my neighborhood. Most people I ask say I can’t go wrong with a tried and true 12 gauge. Any thoughts? (I will start concealed permit process soon, but can get a rifle in CT in a few weeks…)

According to sites I found regarding your gun laws, permits to carry are rare and only issued to law enforcement officers and special need applicants.   Just purchased a really nice crossbow…..its the silent killer….my parents have 30 acres and on the first day I bought it I took it to their property to practice shooting it…after about an hour shooting into a hay bale about a dozen wild turkeys walked out of the woods near me….just for the hell of it I shot into them and damn if I didn’t get one right threw the neck….I had never hunted before and it was exhilarating….I had to go on line to learn how to clean the bird and it tasted great…

  There are just some laws in this country that beg to be broken!!! Self protection trumps any gun laws they can come up with no matter where you are. When the thug is in your house and the police are 10 minutes away because they are already dealing with the same thing elsewhere do you stand your ground or do you obey the gun laws because you don’t want to go to jail?   I hold out no hope, the day they come to my door for my arms, I will most likely die. If things get to that point, then we’ve lost. Period. Unless every man woman and child who owns a gun stands strong. But I suspect we’d be lucky to get half.   Every member of the military has the right, NEIGH the OBLIGATION, to not follow an illegal order! Personally I would never conduct an illegal such or seizure of firearms or ammunition from law abiding citizens. Not that I’m currently in a field that would be tapped to do so. I would lay my career on the 2nd amendment that I have sworn to defend and tactfully let my superiors know they can pound sand if such an order was given!!
  
  While I can only speak for myself, I for one could not fire upon a fellow American unless it was in the defense of my or another’s life.   Consider this: Who brings up race all the time and makes everything about race? Is it conservatives? Who likes to grossly generalize huge cross sections of the population by race and age? If it wasn’t for you folks reminding us what color we are every day, the vast majority of us couldn’t care less.
  
  When they start disarming us, probably in the style of the UK in the 90s, I hope I’ve escaped with my family from the northeast by then. At least states like TX and OK may protest, citing states’ rights.

What he will do is simply add a tax to Obamacare, the risk when you have a gun in your house increases the risk of bodily harm to everyone in the house, therefore, you will have to purchase additional insurance if you have a firearm, and of course, they have records, the IRS will be by, just have the coffee ready.

  BodyBag……I agree to a degree. When you enemy’s rule book is “Rules for Radical’s ” Fighting purely honorably is nobel but useless. Don’t get me wrong I have a code of ethics and I will not break from it. But when the enemy has no such moral backbone. You may have to use slightly looser standards. The founders didn’t have the media against them, they were fighting one enemy, they didn’t have the UN trying to insert itself into our land. They didn’t have many of the problems and lack of nobility on the opposite side either. WE face the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood, Bill Ayers, Cloward and Piven , OWS and the Muslim President whom hates America….
