Hillary Clinton Asked to Testify on Benghazi by House Committee

Now that the 2012 election is in the past, Republicans’ focus will return in full force to the Benghazi terror attack that left four Americans dead. To this end, Republican-led House Foreign Affairs Committee asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify at an open hearing on November 15.

While the State Department responded that Clinton will be traveling abroad during the time of the hearing, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Matt Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, are slated to testify. Now former CIA Director David Petraeus was also supposed to testify, but he will not longer do so following his resignation.

Clinton is reportedly scheduled to travel to Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Burma and Cambodia while the hearing will take place.

The Senate Intelligence Committee also plans to hold a closed-door hearing the same day, according to spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.

At a House hearing before the Nov. 6 elections, Republicans said President Barack Obama’s administration failed to provide adequate diplomatic security before the Benghazi attack and sought to play down the role of terrorists afterward. Democrats defended the administration’s performance and said Republicans were seeking to exploit the attack for political gain.

Clinton, meanwhile, vowed to keep good on her promise to increase security at U.S. diplomatic outposts.

“We now have a formal Accountability Review Board investigating the terrorist attack that killed Chris, and we will certainly apply its recommendations and lessons learned to improving security everywhere,” Clinton said during a tribute to Stevens at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington.

The issue is that the chairman of the Accountability Review Board, U.S. diplomat Thomas Pickering, has come under suspicion for being sympathetic to Islamist causes.

Meanwhile, author Ed Klein believes the Clintons are rallying their lawyers in the event the Secretary of State is subpoenaed. Some believe Clinton when she claimed that she did order additional security for the Benghazi compound and that the request had “not been carried out.”

With talk of Hillary Clinton stepping down from her post, it is possible that she may be more outspoken about the administration’s handling of the deadly terror attack come 2013.

Does anyone really believe Hillary will tell the truth? LOL never in a million years! What kind of people can sit and watch fellow American’s die at the hands of evil, unless they themselves are evil themselves. These people have no concious.. it was easier to let 4 American’s die then lose an election! God help the families left behind!

  It must have been unpleasant for them to have to watch that, but the President probably made the right call. If he had ordered a counterattack, the rest of the world would have thought we had mowed down a bunch of civilian protesters, and they would have burned down all of our embassies. Thank God Barack Obama was our President that day. We only lost four people and didn’t start another war. Good job, Mr. President

  Chet, the only reason they would have thought we mowed down civilian protesters is because that is the lie oblamo shot out the gate with. As we know now this was not the case and when we say they do we mean the american people that have been lied to or the people that carried out this attack that are almost certainly laughing their butts off at us and our so called commander in chief.

  No, they would have thought we mowed down civilian protesters because that was who was attacking the rest of our embassies, and if we had tried to tell them the truth about the attack in Libya, they never would have believed it. Everybody who was already mad at us would have though that we had massacred a bunch of people just like them. They would have tried to burn down the rest of our embassies, and we would have either lost a lot more than four people or we would have had to really massacre crowds of civilians, and that would have started another stupid war that we can’t afford.

  Chet . . . that’s a great deterrent – do nothing. Even better, because “they” would never believe the truth, let’s lie about the facts of the attack and call it a protest . . . only to then later call it an attack, maybe, kind of, yes – an attack. Naturally, because this must have been hard for our brave president to watch, the only rational thing to do was fly off to Las Vegas then next day.
  
  At least Jimmy Carter ‘tried’ to save Americans . . . our current dingle-nuts in chief doesn’t even have the capacity (defined as ballz) to take action during an attack on American Soil (which a US Embassy is) and the slaughter of American citizens. An American Ambassador was beaten, tortured, sodomized and murdered . . . and this president did nothing. Worse, he further emboldened our enemies.   Hey, it worked didn’t it? The attacks stopped and we’re not in another stupid war. I never said that the President was right to lie about the nature of the attack after the fact. That was a miscalculation that could have damaged his chances of reelection if the people had turned out to be as dumb as the Republicans hoped. Fortunately, the voters recognized Benghazi as a trumped up non-issue, and elected the right guy.

They play these games every 2 to 4 years to make us believe we matter. Our country dissolved years ago and we didn’t even know it. So folks……I ask you…….really……..what’s next. Keep playing the game, or start writing the rules. En Mass we could possibly cripple them if we wanted to ….. they live on money.
STOP PAYING TAXES…….for one year. Save it up and pay it in the end. But it would send a message. Just a thought

Even if Traitor-Hillary does testify at these hearings, it won’t be under oath – she will say what she is told to say – and it won’t be the truth. Instead of asking her to give meaningless testimony while not under oath, and for which she will never be held accountable, how about arresting her, charging her with treason and having her testify under oath at her trial?
