Local Traffic Reporter Gives Directions to Canada After Romney Loss
Were you one of those who threatened to move to Canada if Mitt Romney lost the election? Well, if you live in Oklahoma, a local traffic reporter is showing you the way.
“We had some folks make a special request,” Jeff Brucculeri of Fox 23 explained on Wednesday morning. “I know a lot people said that if their candidate lost the election, they’d be moving to Canada — not sure why, but that was some of the folks’ promises out there.”
A map then popped up on screen where the forecast usually lives. As he gave the directions — which are nearly a straight shot north — there were some chuckles off camera.
“This is serious stuff,” he chided. “When you get to Canada, you’re going to hit the border here, make sure you got either your card or your passport, OK, to get into Canada now. Then you’re going to get back on Highway 75 in Canada or it’s actually the Lord Selkirk Highway. If you’re moving to Canada, you’re going to need to know this. Lord Selkirk Highway, OK?”
“So that’s your route to Canada. We’ll have more for you coming up in a bit,” he concluded.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 10:15amWell folks you might want to first check out the federal and provincial marginal tax rates in Canada that can be higher than 50% for those earning $132,000 CDN or more. And they tend to be a tad more socially liberal than the US. For example they have accepted and acknowledged benefits for same sex marriage and couples since 1999. How’s about you just ease off on the critic role for a while and start supporting and investing in your country.

We had a church pastor sued for being critical of gays.He lost! Our gun laws are still over the top and oppressive. Go and try to buy a hand gun. If you try to protect your life or property with a gun, expect to be jailed. Freedom loving conservatives have SEVERAL battles left to fight! This country is chalk full of leftists and progressives! With Obama’s election there is NO PLACE LEFT TO RUN TO!!

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 1:31pmI’m not going to Canada (even though their economy has improved drastically since shedding some of their socialist policies from the 80s). I’m moving to Chile: roaring economy, low taxes (flat 15%), low debt (< 10% of GDP and hardly any deficit spending), and abortion is illegal there.
`Nuff said!

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 9:46amNo….those walls are to keep illegal’s out. The illegal vote won the election for Obama in the swing states. That’s what happens when you do not allow the states to make a voter prove he/she is legal to vote. Easily, Obama won with the illegal vote.
I’ve predicted this since he won against weak candidate in 08.
How many illegals have came here since ’08, and what was the final margin of victory in those swing states?
Socialist/Communist Dems have made our elections third-worldish.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 10:20amCanada actually has moved right during the past four years. They saw that the safety net that was the US no longer existed after the passage of Obama(care)tax. On top of that, Canadian currency is now worth more than US currency, so their economic position in the world has surpassed ours. Canada would love to have American brainpower, capital and productivity – leave the Obama voters in Detroit, thank you.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 11:45amdecendentof56, I have no problem with a free people controlling their borders, protecting themselves against invaders. A free people must always protect their freedom but we have currently been overrun by a hoard of voting leaches lead by Marxist subversives. I am just anticipating the future. The purpose of the Marxist walls are not to protect freedom but to imprison the conquered.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 11:54pmIt all depends on where you go. Each province is very different. I would recommend staying far away from BC, Ontatrio and Quebec. Alberta has low taxes and no provincial sales tax, and they’re desperate for good people who aren’t afraid of hard work (though with the current CINO permier, things are a bit worrying at the moment). A housekeeper in Fort Mac typically brings in about $4000 a month. Saskatewan is also going into a boom, so it’d be a great place to go before the housing market shoots out of reach, as it has in AB. Newfoundland is also on the upswing. All three of these are growing because of their oil production. ON, BC and Que are dying because of their reliance on social handouts and liberal/progressive governments. I would also recommend against my home province of Manitoba, at least for now. They’re still recovering from years of NDP governance.
The funniest thing I saw today was a liberal friend I know posting a graphic that basically called our PM a communist. Sadly, that sort of ignorance is way too common.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 8:55amMaybe we should just keep telling about Canada’s free health care, free tuition and welfare system and let the migration go there. Tell them weed is legal, and abortion is the common contraceptive practice there as well, so our moronic youth will follow the free loaders. Oh, and higher taxes so they believe that all the people that sacrifice for their way of life are paying their fair share. Oh, Canada

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 9:15amHealth Care is not free in Canada, we pay for it in our taxes, and we still have to pay for a lot of it. Our government recognizes it is unsustainable and is debating moving towards a public/private system. As far as a contraceptive’s go, our government is almost there, we are having debates all the time on when does life start and what should our policy be on abortion. Even our minister of Woman’s Right’s is for a debate on when does life really start. And you still have to pay for your own contraception. Smoking weed is still a crime here, it’s decriminalized for certain amounts but not legal like American’s seem to think. Our education system is the same as yours, public and private. You have the choice. You actually have to provide bank statements showing you have made not enough money to provide for your family to get welfare here, and we have less people on. The amount they give you is just enough to get by but not enough for you to stay on it. Our cities are much smaller then yours, and yes they have idiots like yours but in smaller amounts. The majority of Canadians still work with there hands, live in small towns and know what it means to have to work hard. Our majority conservative government proves it. I know I sound like an advertisement for Canada, but I just want to make people aware that the perception of Canada that exists is of the Canada 20 years ago, not of today. Oh Canada, the true north strong and free.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 2:40pmMountainJac, just adding some data to your post…
1, No food stamps. Even food bank (the gummint one, not charity ones) provides a food bag no more than 3 rimes a year. Together with a welfare system that is not designed to encourage staying on it, let alone create hereditary welfare lineages, there’s no incentive for leaches to flock to Canada.
2. After trying socialism lite for some 40 years, the trend is strongly in the opposite direction. While US youth seem to be enamored with collectivism in their ignorance, in Canada, the youth can extrapolate from recent history and see the folly. Yes, there is a bunch of marxoid and moonbat loonies in Canada, some provinces more than others, but their voice is becoming fainter as time goes by.
3. A private health care cross-border shopping that was a safety valve of the Canadian health care system is off the table, because of Obamacare. Thus there would be a need to establish private health care option for Canadians including private insurance option. Now sooner than later. It may be ironic that the situation would reverse and Americans may shop for their private health care needs in Canada (beside Costa Rica or Chile).
4. Drill, frack, extract is the standing energy policy.
As for moving to Canada, the red states should stay red (please pick another color!) and consider secession, but if you are in any of the socialistic states near the northern border… Canada needs more conservatives.

But they are not likely to actually go to where we were when we became great, either. No where in the world, that I know of, is going there. I hope some one is. I pray we can still return.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 8:43amCanada is not nearly as socialist as you might think. Our supreme court has just abolished a federal law prohibiting freedom of speech. Yay! We have our freedom of speech back. Our Prime Minister who runs on the motto, “We want to build a nation of entrepreneurs not entitlements.” Has a majority government and a high rating amongst the Canadian people. Our small business tax is only 15%. We as a people have actually turned the engine around, where the US is sort of well, full steam ahead down the progressive path. Our government recognizes that Sharia Law and it’s practices are Barbaric, and are not afraid to tell Iran to go to Hell. We also still support Israel and Stephen Harper has actually had National Day’s of Prayer to pray for Israel and ask God to forgive us for not realizing the Holocaust earlier. Our Economy is growing while yours is sluggish. In retrospect, you guy’s are in the fire and the frying pan. We worry about you USA, and welcome any freedom loving Americans who want to be part of a nation that is weeding progressiveness out of there government. The idea of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada is that we are Progressively becoming less socialist. We just abolished our long gun registry, and our stupid Wheat Regulatory Board. Only a few more regulatory boards to go. I used to wish I was an American, now with Obama back I wouldn’t want to be you for all the gold in the world. ; ) A loving message from a free Canadian! Posted on November 9, 2012 at 4:51pmYou are almost right…except for one thing. When the Reform Party merged with the Progressive Conservative Party, they dropped the Progressive handle knowing full well what it meant. Our governing party is the Conservative Party of Canada.
And to the 3 million registered Republicans who chose to sit this election out and hand power back to BHO, I am dumbstruck. When life as you know it fades from view, you only have to look in the mirror to see who is responsible for making it so. Now was not the time to cut your nose off to spite your face. Mitt may not have been your idea of the perfect candidate, but he held the only hope for getting your country out of the mess it’s gotten itself into. Instead, you took the easy way out, acted like a bunch of spoiled brats, threw a hissy fit and sat the election out. “That will teach ‘em!” you hollered from your barcalounger. Well, congratulations. Let’s see how that works out for you! Shame on every one of you!. I don’t want any of you in my country. You don’t have what it takes to be an American let alone a Canadian!

My SIL had some US tourists stop her as she walked to work, asking her how much farther to the “snow line.” They had skiis on the roof of their car, and it was July in Winnipeg. My SIL, being the sort of woman she is, told them to keep driving North for a couple more hours. :-( Seriously, folks. We *do* have summer here, and it gets hot.

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 7:58amWe are so saddened and disappointed. Truly we have lost the youth of this country. Our middle aged daughter who was quite the rebel in her youth told us the young people around her at work are missing something that they are “a tick off”. The election proved that in spades. So many of all ages are absolutely soulless.
If you haven’t already read THE HARBINGER by Jonathan Cahn, do.
If it’s been a while since you studied your BIBLE, now would be a good time to do that.
If you haven’t checked in with FATHER, “ABBA”, for a time, now is the time.
