Rep. Trey Gowdy: Either Petraeus Will Testify Voluntarily Over Benghazi or We Will Subpoena Him

Rep. Trey Gowdy: Either Petraeus Will Testify Voluntarily Over Benghazi or We Will Subpoena Him

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on Friday vowed to subpoena outgoing CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus if he won’t testify voluntarily about the Sept. 11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

Gowdy said that while he regretted the “personal ramifications” of Petraeus’ sudden resignation over an extramarital affair, it would not stop Congress from hearing from him about the assault on the consulate that left four Americans dead.

“The fact that he’s resigned and had an affair has nothing to do with whether or not he’s gonna be subpoenaed to Congress,” Gowdy said on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.” “I hope we don’t have to subpoena a four-star general and the former CIA director, I hope he would come voluntarily, but if he won’t he will be subpoenaed and none of what has happened today is a defense to a subpoena.”

The CIA has come under sharp scrutiny in the wake of the Benghazi attacks. Petraeus had been slated to testify Thursday at closed congressional hearings before the House and Senate intelligence committees, but acting CIA Director Michael Morell is now expected to take his place.

“There’s no way we can get to the bot of Benghazi without David Petraeus,” Gowdy said. “While he might not be around next week because he’s got personal matters, the week after that and the week after that, this excuse will run stale.”

A man of sound character and integrity? An honest man? It says that we shall know them by their fruit and his fruit looks rotten.

His departure from being a man of integrity and character has led him into the realms of lying, obfuscation, and omitting facts in order to protect an evil man knowing that Obama is antithetical to everything Petraeus supposedly served his country for.

This country is sinking into a cesspool of depravity at an alarming rate. Does anyone trust anything that comes out of the government’s various agencies anymore? We already know that the liberal state run media can’t be trusted.

General Petraeus needs to remember the long Gray Line,

He needs to go to the National Archives to view the Declaration Of Independence, and Constitution.

He then needs to walk the Gardens Of Stones at Arlington.

Then he should remember Duty Honor Country, then go tell the truth.

We all new that this dictator would pull a stunt like this. Back in 2008 worte in an opinion page that barry had placed people all throughout the government, that had one and one reason only – to be able to disguise the truty. These individuals have been doing their jobs fully, and this includes the secular media. No matter how strong of a conservitive/republican canidate was, he or she didn’t really have a chance.

Betraeus was an escape goat. He has the damaging evidence about Benghazi or at least the the evidence of the lack of leadership of such. So other than being sanctioned, well you all figure it out.

Put nothing past the guy in the whitehouse. He has a strong well placed team working for him. They are all socialists and their end game is the destruction of the American dollar as well as a complete overhaul of the American capitalist system. Nothing will stand in his way to further their movement or damage this so caller president.

We as a country are in trouble, we are in for a major hurt, but we as a country are in no ways or means lost or incapable of a comeback. Hope for the best – prepare for the worst. Never give up. Let the voters who re-elected this guy roll squaller in their time because they will be hurt the most by the programs and laws this POS dictates.

All planned and agreed to. He has also been paid off. I don’t have any trust of this system. Same thing with Hillary. She has refused to testify. What did they think, these two would catch a cab and hurry on down? They should have been subpoenaed from the git go. Just gives them more time to avoid questions. They are only trying to pacify the ignorant low life Americans waiting to see something happen. Get real Folks. Buying into this is ridiculous. They are all in this together.

Now if the presidential administration pulls something to try and prevent the general from testifying now, (they might not) but if they do, especially if he gets subpoenaed the speculation and suspicions will really start to fly.

Don’t be too quick to believe what is being said. We have Chicago thugs in the White House and you don’t know what pressure was applied to scapegoat Petraeus for Benhazi and silence him so that he can’t damage Obama. He is a man of integrity and honor and would not cover for this administration and they know it. What he is claiming is out of character and it may be that his family is being threatened or who knows what when things are being done the Chicago way!!! His top secret security clearance apparently prevents him from testifying to anything that would be covered by that clearance even when he is no longer in the service, without a special dispensation from the military. If Panetta doesn’t allow him to speak freely, even if he appears he may have to take the 5th amendment to comply with the commitment he made to never divulge secret information.

This is the most corrupt administration in our history and Obama is covering up things that will take him down if they are ever brought out in the open. He is capable of anything when it comes to controlling or taking revenge on his enemies. Petraeus already insisted that the CIA did not give any order to stand down, pointing to Obama. He is now being punished.

Remember, when it comes to Obama, nothing is as it seems. You cannot believe anything he says, you have to watch what he does!

Give me a break. We already know what happened in Benghazi but none of the lying MSM’s will report it so we have in effect a not so free press anymore. The truth is we are entering a de-fact-o socialism and no law enforcement will not take charge & enforce the constitution in favor of the people. Since when can any body elected or not just start doing what ever they want over the law and no law applies to him. Why do the U.S. Marshal’s not come and arrest some of these criminals? Who in this country has the power if not the U.S. Marshal’s? Can a president commit a crime with impunity when he has an appointed leader of the DOJ refusing to apply the law to him? Are we so stupid that we will just lay down & except a dictator because he has appointed criminals to head departments of gov. that are suppose to enforce the law’s in favor of the people not the dictator? Those of you who voted for this kind of gov. are in for a rude awakening some day. You have no idea what you have thrown away! Petraeus did not lie like Clinton about an affair Clinton admitted to an affair with Gennifer Flowers On 60 minutes or something. Hillary was there to either support her husband or (more likely) her future career.. The only reason that Gennifer Flowers was not roughed up or worse was that she had tapes. After election Clinton then went on to have an affair with Monica. But it is okay because she did not swallow; Bill finished himself off.

So Petreaus is not as bad as Clinton. He is at least competent when it comes to COIN. Clinton is only good at getting elected, & triangulating.

I am disappointed in Petreaus. But looking at socio-economic levels, the percentage of males that commit infidelity seems to go up some with income. So I am not shocked.

But again he is not as bad as Clinton although he might be trending there.

      Cover-up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
…According to another CIA source, the resignation of Christopher Kubasik, president and CEO-elect of defense and aerospace company Lockheed Martin, announced on the same day as Petraeus, might have ties to the events at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. “There is a relationship between Lockheed Martin and the defense department, as well as the CIA, that ties into current events in Turkey and Syria. This is particularly relevant in the operation taking place in Benghazi and when investigation into where the ‘black-ops’ money went. Don’t forget, Congress appropriated money, at the behest of Obama, for humanitarian aid, not weapons.”…

The saddest thing about all of this is that it is being orchestrated by the real enemies of America. You know, the enemy no one will name. The enemy that has us embroiled in internecine struggles while the they move into position, assume power, and press forward with the Jihad.

Behind all of this is the House of Saud. Muslims engaged in Jihad.

Go ahead. Eat our own. Sacrifice our men and women to the Jihad. That is what the Jihadis desire. They will sit back and delight as we bloody our own people, weaken our own ability to fight, and crucify our military.

While you guys are busy with the latest side show they have orchestrated, they Jihad speeds forward unimpeded, unmitigated, and unchallenged.

General Petraeus was deceived by the Islamic Obama administration, used to further the Jihad, and then presented to the Americans as a traitor and even worse. While we gleefully pound General Petraeus into ground meat, the real enemies, the muslims in the White House engaged in jihad, walk away with smiles. Looking for the next tool.

The real saddest thing to me is the fact that so few seem to really care! There was plenty already on Barry to Impeach and try this man for treason BEFORE the election! Yet the voter turnout for REPUBLICANS WAS LESS THAN 2008! Really! Where were all these fired up voters? I’m not talking about the Dems and the MSM mindless hordes. A lot of them stayed home too and it turned out they didn’t need a huge turnout to beat Romney. Ridiculous! Now even Impeachment won’t help because the Senate would never convict! I can only hope and pray that this scandal does indeed blow up in Barry’s face and then, perhaps justice can be done! All those who supported Barry would also go down in history with those who voted for Nixon before Watergate broke! THAT would be a measure of poetic justice. But I ain’t holding out hope for that!

Oh well. The next four years will see an increase in Jihad activity in America and even more aspects of Islamic culture will replace American culture.

We have jihadis crawling all over the local, state and federal governments. They openly slaughter our military on our own soil, they killed 3,000 American on 9/11! The muslims kill us openly and we do nothing. But the General? Oh no, he must go! Guilty! Bad man! Traitor! Adulterer!

There is a difference between laboring under a deception and treason.

Until our military is fully informed about Islamic Jihad. They labor under the deception presented to them by the Saudi funded dawa campaign which unequivocally states that Islam is not to be challenged. We routinely see our military reprimanded and even put on trail for speaking out against Islam.

The muslims in the military are the internal enemy. Do you want to remove them or allow them to further weaken our military from within? Do you want to hang the General or do you want to look over your shoulder to see the real enemy; muslims engaged in Jihad?

SCRAP, Its not about his free will. This is about his judgement regarding him putting himself in a position to be blackmailed when it comes to national secrets. I recall a lot of the hoops that I had to jump through along with a number of security related interviews that I went through for a potential top secret clearance for another assignment. In particular they looked at anything in my background where I might be blackmailed. That is why these rules exist for certain positions.

I am sorry SCRAP….I do not agree…..I am not a prude by any means….but I am also not a 4 star general and Cia director entrusted with National Secrets of immense import. When a man or woman accepts a responsibility of that magnitude and sensitivity……he or she simply has to keep their private parts even more private. We have in the last 20 years had a president (Clinton) who has successfully managed to convince not only his wife Hillary but also a large part of the American population that oral sex is not sex……leave religious mantras and mandates out of the entire equation……and still any reasonable man or woman knows full well that oral sex is indeed sex….and so as these infamous and famous indiscretions tend to de-sensitize the entire bailiwick of cheating and lying simply so that 2 humans can roll around like dogs for an hour or two….the gravity of the situation is being lost in the din. If you cannot trust a man to keep his zipper up when it should be up……then you cannot trust that man…it really is just that simple. We are not monkeys or hyenas or jackals that engage in non stop sexual antics….well let me correct that….many of us are….but they are not 4 star generals or CIA directors….I’ll leave the inner city promiscuity issue for another topic on another day. I hope Petraeus will testify in full and honest manner before the committee; he is one of the keys to the whole mess surrounding Benghazi and I expect the administration will move hell and earth to ensure the man is charged with violation of the Patriot Act or Treason or such, in addition to threatening his family to try and keep him silent.

If the MSM decides to pick up Benghazi at all, they will probably focus on the good general and the ‘scandal’ of his part and try to keep the focus off of Obama.

Again, the general is being used as a distraction and offered up as a sacrificial goat to appease to the masses while the Democrats try to save the flaming britches of their god-king.

now you are getting closer to the truth of this………

look in the history of Obloomers. How did he take out Ryan in 2004 senate race? Sealed divorce records magically appeared, and the big O won.

Either fabricate it, or utilize what is. Break legs if necessary. The Chicago Way, O style.

I believe that women was sent by Obama to take him “all in.” I also believe she has stuff that would go on the Internet if he doesn’t comply. He was forced to lie, then he was forced to resign (he’s the fall guy), and now he will be forced to zip it.

Benghazi will be a waste of time, just like F&F and the election. There is one and only one way out of this, and Obama is making sure it doesn’t happen. Just look at how the Blaze trolls are talking. Haven’t you noticed the difference? They are trying to lull us into submission.

BARBER2, retired LTC Ralph Peters wa on F&F this morning. He seems to think that the FBI was looking for something else in a government computer of Patraeus’ and found a number of steamy emails on a private email account. Doesn’t matter if that were private or not, it was located on a government computer. But, he points out that this was from an investigation a good number of months ago, and might have been before he took over the CIA. The admin just kept this knowledge in their back pocket for future use.

This is the second member of Obama’s administration who has thrown themselves on their sword for him. What does he have on Clinton and Petraeus? This is big! KRYPTONITE, I certainly have to agree with you. I’m offering different possibilities, but also pointing out that the timing makes most other possibilities seem just too coincidental to be true. It would be great to get to the bottom of this, but all that it will do is expose 0bama and his minions for just who they are. With Reid in charge of the Senate, nothing will come of it, and never expect any Dem-wit to do the honorable thing such as resign in the face of being disgraced. They just do not care and besides, the outcome justifies their means.

Interesting to me, but too bad nobody of interest was willing to care.

O won’t share his ground game with other democrates, after all they cheated fair and square! I have to admit I gat very disappointed when we accept the initial results rather than county every vote especially provisional and absentee. I wonder how many R were given provisional rather than countable ballots. Did 3mil less show-up or were 6 mil thrown in the suspicious pile? How many provisional ballots were there nation wide? How many absentee ballots nationwide? How much did this affect or infect those swing states?

2016 will be a victory through a write in campaign I am sure!

People say stuff about Colonel West but I respect he is making them count! R need to stop conceding until after every vote is counted! My change from I to R took 2 attempts (may & 10/09/12) through DMV, 4 phone calls (purposely voice mailed 3X), and a visit to the county recorder for AZ to get it right? And the machine voting took 45 minutes to vote because you had to touch not center for R but to the bare top of line. Suspicious and screwy. We perhaps need to use some of the UN suggestions.

The testimony will leak sooner or later.

But like you Obama is delusional. He assumes he has at least a weak mandate & will this make a mess of things. The media will give him a pass , so I am not of the belief that he will end up impeached like he should be.

I hope you have money or can squeeze the tax payers/peasants via the government for more tax money or feudal dues. China is working damn hard to make sure the dollar is not the World Reserve Currency. they have set up a trading bloc for that express purpose. With the fiscal mismanagement of Obama & company, things will get much more expensive.

I am to sure what you are. You could be a blood sucking tax leach, inherited stupid money or live like a hippie. Sooner or later if it gets bad enough it will affect you too.
