We Have Some Very Serious Challenges to Make: Allen West Campaign Lawyer Says Absolutely No Chance of Concession

A lawyer for Florida Republican Rep. Allen West’s re-election campaign said Saturday there is “absolutely no chance” of conceding the race despite Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy holding the lead by 2,429 votes.

A complete but unofficial vote tally released Saturday put Murphy ahead with 166,799 votes to West’s 164,370 — giving him a 0.7 percent advantage, above the 0.5 percent threshold to trigger an automatic recount, the Palm Beach Post reported.

But Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, a volunteer lawyer for the West campaign, told TheBlaze there are significant concerns, particularly in St. Lucie County. St. Lucie is the only one of the three counties in the congressional district Murphy won, according to the AP.

“We have some serious challenges to make in St. Lucie County,” said Shapiro, who said he wasn’t speaking officially on the campaign’s behalf. “We have a lot of confidence that’s it’s very possible the numbers in St. Lucie County could change, and they could change dramatically…it definitely could change the outcome [of the race].”

One of the main issues Shapiro said was an sudden election night “recount” in St. Lucie that shifted 4,400 votes from West to Murphy, erasing West’s one-time 2,000-vote lead. Shapiro speculated some votes could have been fed through readers incorrectly or even have been counted twice.

“We are exploring every possible avenue that we can right now to find out if in fact these votes were counted accurately and correctly, or if they were counted at all,” Shapiro said.

He also said some precincts in St. Lucie showed more ballots were cast than the number of actual voters.

“There is absolutely no chance of concession before we have the answers to these questions because the campaign feels that every vote has the right to be heard,” Shapiro said. “For the media and Mr. Murphy’s campaign to prematurely declare victory before these very important issues have been resolved is irresponsible and unfair to the voters.”

Murphy declared victory over West early Wednesday. On Saturday, senior campaign adviser Eric Johnson told the Palm Beach Post it was “time for everyone to put the election behind them.”

“Since election night we’ve felt very comfortable in our margin of victory,” Johnson said.

Shapiro said an official vote count is due on Thursday and that West’s campaign will need to appear before the county canvassing board to make the case that the current votes cannot be certified.

Am sure the Democrat Character Assassination Squad will be targeting West AGAIN soon. One of the most disgusting characteristics of the Obama Far Left is not their economic stupidity as much as their unmitigated ugly smearing of their political opponents. It is not Christian. It is not American. It reeks of the old Soviet KGB or the Nazi SS . Nasty group.

BUDDY BAG . . . BUDDY BUDDY BUDDY . . .You’re upset. And you’re angry. All the propagandizing from your right wing media mavens didn’t work. All your certainty that “the sleeping giant” would crush liberalism wasn’t right. Your faith in God’s plan to restore your white privilege brought only God’s scorn upon your haughtiness. And now you’re rambling like a street corner preacher with a Bible in one hand and a pair of socks in the other.

I understand, you want revenge. And yet another story about Alan West’s impotence seems like a dandy venue to vent. And I think you should. It’s healthy. Part of the grieving process. And a guy like you has plenty of enemies to accommodate. It’s a full time job. So have at it, Mister Listy. Rage against the machine. (Hey, wasn’t that Paul Ryan’s theme song? He sure was cute, wasn’t he?)

This, alone, should be enough to ‘scotch’ the count! A recount from the ground up is warranted and may uncover some systemic practices that would affect results nationwide! We the People, have the right to have the same level of integrity in our voting processes that we have in the purchase of our morning cup of coffee! A mechanical/electronic voting machine should produce a receipt for the voter, a scroll for the auditor and the voter should enter his receipt in a second, independent reader to verify the transaction–before leaving the polling place! Only through receipting and the duality process can we EVER be assured the COUNTING PROCESS is valid! We don’t have this, which might be one of the more vulnerable processes in the entire election process! It isn’t rocket science! On January 30, 1883, James Ritty and John Birch received a patent for inventing the cash register, nicknamed the “Incorruptible Cashier”. Surely we deserve the integrity provided by “The Bell Heard Round the World”!

    FROM WATCHDOGWIRE – FLORIDA
Massive Voter Fraud in St. Lucie County, FL – 141% Turnout

    Scheduled Recount Delayed Till 11/14
    10 November 2012
    by Dr. Richard Swier

Click on the link below for the official St Lucie County, FL 2012 election results. Only one precinct had less than 113% turnout.
The Unofficial vote count is 175,554 registered voters 247,713 vote cards cast (141.10% ).

The National SEAL Museum, a St. Lucie county polling place, had 158.85% voter turn out, the highest in the county.

When asked about the 141% Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker stated, “They may have had something like that in Palm Beach County, but we’ve never seen that here.”

Statement of Votes Cast St. Lucie County 2012 General Election November 6, 2012*
Supervisor Walker has posted this notice on her official website:

THE CANVASSING BOARD MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THE RECOUNT ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2012 AT 7:00 AM HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2012 AT 7:00 AM AT THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OFFICE, 4132 OKEECHOBEE ROAD MALL ENTRANCE 2.

It appears that Allen West is justified in asking for a lock-down on the ballot boxes and machines in St. Lucie County. According to the November 7th Supervisor of Elections report Allen B. West garnered 52,625 votes in St.Lucie county and Patrick Murphy 65,896 votes.

Does seem highly improbable that a 2:1 ratio in electoral votes and slightly half the popular vote ‘re-upped’ the prez given what we saw on the ground, doesn’t it? — polls schmoles — NEVER pay attention to them — all hype. MOST of the electoral votes were in areas targeted for the demographic ‘gimme’ votes… ironic, isn’t it? @Barber2, Considering I’m here saying the same things now as I have before, what makes you think I’m doing anything other than trying to make conservatives rally around freedom and the Constitution and put an end to these BS wars?

One thing sadder than a sore loser. That is someone who will corrupt the system by getting their cronies to keep counting the votes until they are ahead, and then suddenly it’s time to stop voting and declare a winner. See Gregoire in WA 2004, see Franken in MN 2008, see the attempts with Gore in 2000.

@PATTY, There’s plenty of video evidence and testimony against Romney’s campaign from the primaries. Why weren’t you outraged by it then?

0 has stolen the election for not only himself but probably many others as well. Where ever there was VOTER ID Romney/Ryan WON. I do not think this is a coincidence. After reading everything that is out about many places showing well over 100%-140% of eligible voters. The 0 campaign is in deep fraud and will probably be proven if enough people continue to fight this. Mitt needs to speak up to challenge CO. Otherwise in the other swing state the people can challenge and I am hoping MANY DO. We cannot let Soros Steal this election!

The answer to that question is the difference between rural (country) voters and city voters. Cities vote democrat (quite possibly the result of the side affects of localized pollutions, an overreaching dependency on government services, a belief in the “necessity” of unions, and next to minimal understanding of the source of their work, food, or any other commodities), and country folk, the kind that work hard (as if they had a choice), know and understand the value of money (as evidenced by the fact that they would never pay an automatic gratuity to anyone) and involve themselves in family, church and community life vote Republican.

City folk see Government as a problem solver in their life, and country folk see the government as the problem. The Blue states are the homes to our nations biggest cities. The red states are home to the nations biggest farms.

When the economy implodes under the weight of Obama’s policies, us country folk will have to adjust to a little less convenience, and conversely you city folk will eat each other while fighting over cans of strained peas and clam juice.

I am sure glad your voice weighs more than ours. Thank you for another four years of mediocrity, and a perilous addiction to spending other people’s money.
