Busted: Jesse Jackson Jr Faces Jail Time And Resignation in Plea Deal
Jesse Jackson Jr. may have won reelection last Tuesday, but don’t expect him to finish (or possibly even start) his new term. The Illinois Democrat is currently facing charges for misuse of campaign funds, and apparently trying to cut a deal with his federal accusers. And while details on that deal are sketchy, it is considered near certain that Jackson will have to resign, pay back the money he embezzled and possibly serve time in jail – a far cry from the House of Representatives.
The Huffington Post reports on Jackson’s troubles, via CBS News:
CBS Chicago reported Saturday that veteran criminal defense attorney and former U.S. Attorney Dan Webb is negotiating a deal that tentatively includesthe congressman pleading guilty to misusing campaign funds, resigning for health reasons, repaying any campaign contributions that went toward personal expenditures and — almost inevitably — some jail time.
The negotiations are expected to be wrapped up by the year’s end, according to CBS. [...]
Members of Chicago’s City Council, of which Jackson’s wife Sandi Jackson is a member, criticized the congressman after news of the reported plea deal went public.
“To slap us in the face now, you just lied to us. You just lied to us.Β I feel so betrayed,” Ald. Carrie Austin (34th) told NBC Chicago last week.
Ald. Deborah Graham (29th) told the Sun-TimesΒ she is “heartbroken” for SandiΒ amid the controversy.
“Itβs a terrible time for her and her children,” Graham told the newspaper.
Jackson’s misfortunes began earlier this year when it was uncovered that he spent official campaign funds on a $40,000 Rolex watch for a female friend and the decorating of his Washington, D.C. home.Β Since then a mental health-centered saga has begun, revealing Jackson to suffer from sever bipolarity, checking himself in and out of the Mayo Clinic for treatment with increasing regularity.

Posted on November 11, 2012 at 7:22pmOk, I found the l link to Rep. Ileana Ross L. But what I understood her to say it that the Tea Party did help the GOP by ‘waking people up” . She says the ‘establishment’ needed a change which is what they did 2010. But as for Rush Limbaugh she says he and Bill O’ Reilly are ‘entertainers’ that rouse their audience , however they are not the GOP heads. They are too extreme ,radical to the right than she is…so actually she is the moderate equivalent to John McCain or Lindsey Graham. She wants to pander to the hispanics and younger crowd by saying Obama showed up on Letterman, the View , MTV and other ‘hip’ media . And that’s why he won the election. I say no pandering to any group!

Posted on November 11, 2012 at 7:46pmNow remember, since he has already been elected and then steps down, the governor can appoint a replacement until the next electionβ¦
Here is the key, Pat Quinn (D-Illinois Governor) started his career in Chicago.
From his website ( http://www2.illinois.gov/gov/Pages/AbouttheGovernor.aspx) :
Quinn has served the people of Illinois for more than 30 years as both a citizen and a public official. He has organized grassroots petition drives signed by more than 4 million voters, walked across the state in support of decent health care for all, and proposed historic tax reform for working families. He was elected Lieutenant Governor in 2002 and re-elected in 2006, serving until his succession as Governor in January 2009, and served one term as State Treasurer from 1991 to 1995. He also served as commissioner of the Cook County Board of (Property) Tax Appeals and as revenue director for the City of Chicago.
As Lieutenant Governor, Quinn created the Illinois Military Family Relief Act, which provides financial assistance to families of Illinois National Guard members and reservists called to active duty. The fund has distributed more than $10 million to Illinois military families.
Quinn was born in Chicago and raised in Hinsdale and graduated from Northwestern University School of Law and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 1:56pmAlcee Hastings, Jesse Jackson I & II, Charlie Rangel, Marion Barry, et. al all seem to demonstrate the tribalistic mentality and sociopathic culture that threatens to keep Africa forever a third world country, impoverished of civilized conduct. When blacks were selling black slaves to the white traders they were also inadvertently exporting their worldview of human life to the west. We are now living the consequences of the blackification of America. Consider the rap lyrics representative of a black mentality that demeans and degrades both men and women; of the ‘urban culture’ that has destroyed American inner cities like Detroit, Miami’s infamous Little Haiti and Overtown, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Oakland, CA. The same destructive nature is true of my Mexican brothers in Tijuana, Nogales, and Ciudad Juarez that wish to import their culture of corruption and tribalism into the American southwest while at the same time ironically trying to escape the death and violence that is endemic to that very culture of moral corruption. These cultural cancers have metastisized beyond Stage IV within our borders in the name of ‘diversity,’ and America is a ‘dead country walking’ because of tribal diversity and a fatalistic mentality that was allowed to fester unchecked. The references contained in the Comments section of this link are worth reading: http://new-possibilities.blogspot.com/2010/11/are-black-politicians-more-corrupt-than.html.

But the mentality of people towards politicians and government is “what have you done for me lately?” Until that thought process is turned around into a stay out of my life mentality this will continue and Washington will never be purged of the cesspool it’s become.
