Palestinian President to Continue Pursuing Statehood Despite Personal Call From Obama Sunday

(TheBlaze/AP) — A spokesman for the Palestinian president says the Palestinians will proceed with asking the U.N. General Assembly to recognize a Palestinian state, despite a personal call from President Barack Obama to abandon the bid.
Nabil Abu Rdeneh said President Mahmoud Abbas had a “long telephone conversation” with Obama on Sunday evening.
He related that Obama expressed his “opposition” to the move, but Abbas defiantly replied that he would carry on.
In Washington, the White House press office said that Obama “reiterated the United States’ opposition to unilateral efforts at the United Nations.”

In this Sept. 1, 2010 file photo, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, right, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are seated together as they listen to U.S President Barack Obama, not seen, in the East Room of the White House in Washington on the resumption of direct peace talks. However, Obama also reportedly “reaffirmed his commitment to Middle East peace and his strong support for direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians” for a peace accord, the White House said.
Obama also said he hopes to “continue cooperating closely in the future” with Abbas, according to the Agence France-Presse.
The U.S. and Israel have opposed upgrading the Palestinian status at the world body to nonmember observer state, saying a Palestinian state can be established only through negotiations.
Talks broke down four years ago over the issue of Israeli settlement construction in lands the Palestinians claim for a state, and have yet to show marked improvement.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 6:54amWhen Bush, Sr. promoted a Palestinian nation, within 24 hours his home on the East coast was destroyed by the “perfect storm”. Think about it. Israel is never to be divided and to promote the idea courts certain destruction-it has always been the case. God hits the “smite” key on his computer.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 5:59amthere is money and corruption in both goverments, if the Israelis wanted to wipe out the palestinians they could but if peace was the goal there would not be demolition of homes, its goverment corruption to keep tensions up to keep a purpose for endless war. palestinians if they wanted could be more brutal and killing and if corrupt gov’t wanted peace it could and would not launch attacks and make moves to make otherside mad. but some big folks are bribing both of these goverments to do things to stir tensions to keep their cash pile coming in. I am sure it could even be the same people behind the overthrows of the middle eastern goverments right now.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 6:48amToo bad that our Sewer Rat-in-Chief will take time to place a call to the Palestinians; but, Obama seemed to be too busy to speak to the patriots holding off the sub-humans at the CIA compound in Benghazi.
How disgusting was it for Obama to mouth the words “We take care of our own” at the Veterans Memorial? How many vets wanted to walk up to him and bitch slap him?
In case you folks weren’t watching, some major flaws in the military’s reaction were apparent during the Benghazi treason. Can patriots depend on our military to uphold our traditions and values? Perhaps they will until their slot on the promotion list is endangered; but, the only man who did the honorable thing was General Ham, former boss at AFRICOM. He sent the drone to fly over Benghazi, was later arrested by his #2 and advised that he was no longer in command of AFRICOM.
What’s the name of the #2 who approached Ham with a drawn pistol?

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 6:28amNow that America is perceived as weak, as in can’t even protect our own Ambassador, why would they listen to us? We need peace through strength. Time to bring that 80′s foreign policy back. Obama is truly living in a utopian fantasy island.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 12:42amQuestion is…what is the POTUS actually saying to him?
Is it ” I am with you I have more flexibility now”
Is it ” I need 50 more years please come over our North and South Border and claim us too”
Is it ” We need to have talks without Israel proper being involved”
Is it ” I am the President of the free world and that should be enough-listen to me”
Is it ” I will show you my red line if you show me yours?”
One thing is for sure, POTUS has been living in the classic Coca Cola commercial for most of his life and is convinced he can take over by teaching the world to sing…hand in hand no less. OR, he can’t get the Darth Vader music out of his head and that must be very alluring.
Day five, we are at day five. Sigh.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 2:01amTretka and Freedom – So true. You both see the obvious. Now imagine you are standing on the Hills of Calvary and watching the Crucifixion of Jesus. We are in Biblical times, and those things you both mentioned are true and their is nothing any of us can do to stop it.
My suggestion is to pray up, pack up and look up – we are going up soon. Our vote did more than decide a President – it decided how each one of us will spend eternity. By the way, I voted for Godly principles, not for Abortion, Gay Marriage and Non Support of Israel. The choice was easy for me because I read the Bible.

I don’t care what he says to the MSM. This man is pure evil. He will do everything in the framework of the UN. Abbas wants to wipe Israel off the map. HE DOES NOT WANT PEACE and he has Obama’s support 100%. Don’t be fooled. Bebe is not fooled. He knows he is alone.
