Blaze readers will likely recall the deadly shooting spree that took place at a Jewish day school in Toulouse, France, this past March. Islamic gunman, Mohamed Merah, murdered three Jewish schoolchildren, a rabbi and three paratroopers. Ultimately, he died in a 32-hour stand-off with police after leaping from his apartment window. Now his brother, Abdelghani, is speaking out with claims that his mother, not mullhas, was the first to radicalize the children in his family.

For reference, Mohamed Merah claimed links to al-Qaeda and said he had received training at an Islamist paramilitary camp in Pakistan, according to the Associated Press. His other brother, Abdelkader Merah, was also charged with helping Mohamed coordinate the attack and remains in custody. Abdelghani, however, seems to be taking a stand against the hate he and his brothers were brought up with in a new book and documentary slated for release this week that claims to reveal the genesis of his brothers’ radicalization.

Abdelghani maintains that his siblings anti-Semitism did not begin at madrassas, but rather at home under the tutelage of their mother, who proudly told the youngsters that “Arabs were born to hate Jews.”

According to excerpts of the book, “My Brother, That Terrorist,” published in the French daily, Le Figaro, Abdelghani vowed on the day of Mohamed’s funeral to speak out and tell the world how he and his siblings were weaned on hatred and anti-Semitism.

“I will explain how my parents raised you in an atmosphere of racism and hate before the Salafis could douse you in religious extremism,” he writes.

In an interview with Belgian media, Abdelghani said he hoped to explain “how our parents educated us in an atmosphere of racism and hatred, and how the Salafists converted Mohammed to become a terrorist.”

“My mother always used to tell us that ‘we Arabs were born to hate the Jews.’”

He added that while he strongly condemned the attack, other family members are proud of Mohamed.

The documentary, meanwhile, is slated to be released on Sunday and features interviews with Abdelghani and his sister, Souad, who unlike her brother, is “proud” of Mohamed’s shooting rampage.

The Associated Press reports that the Merahs’ mother was even held for questioning at one point but has since been released. While their father left the family for Algeria years prior, he has since sued the French state for Mohamed’s death.

Last week, French President Francois Hollande and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Toulouse to visit the school and meet with the families of the victims. Both leaders pledged to fight anti-Semitism in France and globally.

During the visit, Netanyahu said, “The fact that we are standing here together, the French President and Prime Minister of Israel, says everything about our partnership in the war against terrorism, against racism and against violence.”

no doubt the arab/jewish conflict is centuries old…………one can read about it in the bible……….and it s probably embedded in the dna of the people involved.

can this aggression ultimately addressed in a peaceful manner?? thats hard to say. early on it was swords, bows, arrows, rocks………….today its automatic weapons, rpgs, missiles, etc. something has to give. but how or when is a complete unknown.

  The author you cited was born in 1954. Therefore, his accounting of the events of 1948 is irrelevant. I’d like to know why I should trust his version of history and, more importantly, who his sources are. Citing an obscure book by a so-called historian who credentials are unverified and who isn’t providing a first hand account is not how you support your arguments. If you want to use his book, buy it yourself and use the information within it. The fact you haven’t done so already is proof that your account is untrustworthy. You once cited a book which you claimed proved that most Jews today aren’t Israelites but actually Khazars. A simple search turned up a brief summary which said that the book explains how Khazars intermixed with other Eastern European Jews to father the modern day Russian Jews. I presume you didn’t read that book either.

  So to continue to point to Jews as the bad guys you ignore the topic of the article. Why is this a story? Because, contrary to what the MSM (the ones you erroneously claimed were spreading this story) would have us believe, there are Arabs out there who are raised to hate others, Jews in this case. The MSM wouldn’t touch this story because it is a refutation of their agenda that nearly all Arabs are peaceful. For a similar reason, you yourself failed to address its premise. Why? Because if Jews are to continue to be the bad guys all the time one can’t have word spreading that their enemies might actually be evil and not innocent victims like you’d have us believe.
  
  An Arab raised in France has just told us how he was raised to hate Jews. A man who’s brother murdered Jews has just come forward and told us how his mother bred hatred into them from childhood. There are plenty of people who find that relevant. If you don’t think this site reports on news that applies to you you’re welcome to go elsewhere. You don’t see me reading the NYT and complaining that their not reporting on the Benghazi scandal the way I’d like.

  Now, my point stands. The event occurred in France. We live in America. It’s a French story, not an American story. It’s the self-centered view of Jews being so special, that all news is world news, that I take issue with.   “It occurred in France”? That’s your argument? The collapse of the Greek economy happened in Greece but its relevant. Why? Because we are on the same path. The issue raised here may have happened in France but it isn’t a French issue. By your argument I shouldn’t care about what’s happening to NYC under Bloomberg because I don’t live there. The issue here is about some Arab parents indoctrinating their children to hate. Are there Arabs in the US? Could some of them be preaching this same hatred? Isn’t that of concern to those of us in the US?

In the past you’ve accused Jews of bringing the Holocaust upon themselves, provoking Hitler, and even of helping to orchestrate the Holocaust.

  If your saying all “ethnic-based” movements are the same, then maybe you add the American civil rights movement, the Indian Independence movement, and the revolution in South Africa to your list. Nazism was the idea that Germans (Aryans) were inherently superior and that such superiority warranted not only an independent country and self determination, but the authority to decide the fate of all other races,nation, and ethnic groups by means of a totalitarian government. Zionism was the idea that Jews, being a distinct ethnic minority with their own culture, language, and nationality, having been persecuted repeatedly throughout history, required an independent state among the nations in order to guarantee their own survival.
  
  Zionism was a movement to give Jews the power of self-determination; Nazism was the movement to rob all non-Germans of their self-determination. Zionism is more comparable to the American Revolution than to Nazism.

  I’d probably qualify as a beckbot in your sight, and I am a Christian, I’ve attended many different Christian Churches in my lifetime, in NONE of them is hatred preached for any of these groups. Rather what is preached is “Love the sinner, hate the sin!” Remembering that to be a Christian is to be a forgiven sinner, and in God’s eyes, to break any one commandment, is to break all of them since they aren’t ranked in the Bible, as the greater and lesser commandment. Rather they and Jesus Sermon on the Mount are given to show all of us that we needed a Savior because we can’t live the perfect life called for by our God and need His forgiveness. So, My Friend the Troll, the same God Who bore my sins on that Cross so many years ago, and awarded me His perfect record when I realized I couldn’t do it myself and asked His foregiveness, also bore yours, and that same foregiveness is awaiting you and each one in each of these groups you mention. We are encouraged that each other sinner recognize this need of foregiveness because death isn’t the end of it, and there really is a Heaven to attain and a Hell to eschew. Each of us makes this choice, may God help you to find that wonderful foregiveness, it’s a wonderful feeling to be awarded Christ’s Righteousness, for your sin.

  A very human reaction, but definitely not a Christian one. Our Lord reminds us, that He would have suffered that humiliating painful death on that cross for any one of them, if they were the ONLY sinner that needed saved from the horrible agony of and eternity in Hell! If my God has that attitude, then if I am to be a “Christian” (Meaning Christ Like) then this must be my attitude too, and if I don’t have it, I need to pray for mercy from my God for the hatred, and then that He replace my hatred with His love for them. Jesus Christ was the ONLY human ever with the right to say to someone (and authority) “GO TO HELL!!!!” AND HE SAID, “FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO!!!” Even while they were tormenting Him during a most painful death!

  Well, within the past week, that’s what he has repeated twice now.
  His victory speech though only said, “It doesn’t matter whether you’re black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you’re willing to try.” Not Islamists… So maybe he won’t.
  He definitly didn’t say Christians so I’m not expecting a check anytime soon.
