Meet the ‘Other Woman’ in the Petraeus Scandal
WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — As questions swirl about the extramarital affair that led to the resignation of CIA Director David Petraeus, the retired general and his biographer, Paula Broadwell, have been quiet about details of their relationship. However, information has emerged about the woman who received the emails from Broadwell that led to the FBI’s discovery of Petraeus’ indiscretion.

A senior U.S. military official identified the second woman as Jill Kelley, 37, who lives in Tampa, Fla., and serves as an unpaid social liaison to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, where the military’s Central Command and Special Operations Command are located (TheBlaze first reported the woman’s identity on Sunday).
In a statement Sunday, Kelley and her husband, Scott, said: “We and our family have been friends with Gen. Petraeus and his family for over five years. We respect his and his family’s privacy and want the same for us and our three children.”
According to reports, Kelley’s husband is a surgeon at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer and Research Institute. While she was, at one point a medical student, a 2003 story in the St. Petersburg Times, suggests that she put her career on hold to then have a baby. The article also suggests that Kelley has a twin sister named Natalie Khawam. Additionally, another media report notes that the family lives in a brick mansion that is estimated to be worth $1.5 million.
Business Insider notes that a 2007 issue of Tampa Bay Magazine also featured a photo spread of Kelley and her husband:

The military official who identified Kelley spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to publicly discuss the investigation. He said Kelley had received harassing emails from Broadwell, which led the FBI to examine her email account and eventually discover her relationship with Petraeus. The FBI contacted Petraeus and other intelligence officials, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper asked Petraeus to resign.
A former associate of Petraeus confirmed the target of the emails was Kelley, but said there was no affair between the two, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the retired general’s private life. The associate, who has been in touch with Petraeus since his resignation, said Kelley and her husband were longtime friends of Petraeus and his wife, Holly.
Attempts to reach Kelley were not successful. Broadwell did not return phone calls or emails.
The Petraeus news caught much of Washington by surprise and members of Congress said Sunday they want to know more details about the FBI investigation that revealed the extramarital affair between Petraeus and his biographer. They questioned when the retired general popped up in the FBI inquiry, whether national security was compromised and why they weren’t told sooner.
“We received no advanced notice. It was like a lightning bolt,” Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee, said on “Fox News Sunday.”
Petraeus, 60, quit Friday after acknowledging an extramarital relationship. He has been married 38 years to Holly Petraeus, with whom he has two adult children, including a son who led an infantry platoon in Afghanistan as an Army lieutenant.
Broadwell, a 40-year-old graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and an Army Reserve officer, is married with two young sons.
Petraeus’ affair with Broadwell will be the subject of meetings Wednesday involving congressional intelligence committee leaders, FBI deputy director Sean Joyce and CIA deputy director Michael Morell.
Petraeus had been scheduled to appear before congressional committees on Thursday to testify about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. Morell was expected to testify in place of Petraeus, and lawmakers said he should have the answers to their questions.
But Feinstein and others didn’t rule out the possibility that Congress will compel Petraeus to testify about Benghazi at a later date, even though he’s relinquished his job.

Clapper was told by the Justice Department of the Petraeus investigation at about 5 p.m. on Election Day, and then called Petraeus and urged him to resign, according to a senior U.S. intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly.
FBI officials said the congressional committees weren’t informed until Friday, one official said, because the matter started as a criminal investigation into harassing emails allegedly sent by Broadwell to Kelley.
Concerned that emails Petraeus exchanged with Broadwell raised the possibility of a security breach, the FBI brought the matter up with him directly, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to publicly discuss the investigation.
Petraeus decided to quit, though he was breaking no laws by having an affair, officials said.
Staffers for Petraeus said Kelley and her husband were regular guests at events he held at Central Command headquarters.
A U.S. official said the coalition countries represented at Central Command gave Kelley an appreciation certificate on which she was referred to as an “honorary ambassador” to the coalition, but she has no official status and is not employed by the U.S. government.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the case publicly, said Kelley is known to drop the “honorary” part and refer to herself as an ambassador.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 10:38amOK, instead of “housewives of Dallas” or “housewives of Boston” let’s have a “housewives of the high ranking military and their “friends.” There is a huge social order in the military. It sounds like Petraeus was a big social engineer. He had regular party goers that he would call to attend his gatherings. Wouldn’t it be interesting to have a look into the lives of the movers and shakers that seem to stay under the radar in the military and the government for that matter. We seem to have some interesting people on the under the table payroll. They seem to have a lot of power and money. The millionaire doctor and his wife would be an interesting couple to unmask at this time.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 2:41pmThis doesn’t say much for women in general. Just goes to show that women are turned on by power. This Petraeus is not a particularly attractive man. He’s old, yet he’s hitting this hot piece of turf and who knows what other hot women he’s getting. If he wasn’t in the position he’s in, he’d be surfing internet dating sites trying to find a date. It would be like that Supreme Court Justice Ginzberg having affairs with young studly men or Elena Kagan having affairs with numerous hot women. Just shows how women like someone in a position of power.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 9:46amIf the hell bent MSM could pause for a moment during their calculated and coordinated persecution of this American Patriot perhaps “We the People” could focus on the big picture.
The director of the CIA had complete disclosure regarding the who, what, where, how and when of the jihad terrorist attack on Anerican sovereign soil at the Libyan Embassy on 9/11/12 that took the lives of
four American citizens and resulted in the 4th AlQueda flag flying over American Embassies in the middle east.
The testimony from the CIA director could sink the entire Obama regime.
If Pratreious does not testify the American people (and the electorate) will realize the incredible mistake in re-electing Obama.
Will he testify?

DiFi is lying big time. WATCH the interview very closely – key on her eyes. She was not surprised by any of it…… or she is the worst at her job of any Senator in history. No way she could not of known about all of it, or she should be removed from office for gross negligence.

So instead of going to her “friend” and telling him that she is receiving strange e-mails about her relationship with him, she goes straight to the FBI. Yeah, that would show respect and concern for his family’s privacy.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 9:02amOkay, I must have missed something in the reading. Is there any implication that Mrs. Kelley is a mistress to the retired General? Anyone think that maybe she told the other woman to back off to protect her friend the general and THEN Broadwell came unhinged. Petreaus was wrong – absolutely – behavior unbecomming an officer.

Do they really expect us to believe this? Like Clapper hasn’t known for months, if not years. This detestable corrupt administration knows no bounds. They no longer care what we, the people, think. This situation is far from being clear, and I guess we will have to wait for it all to unfold.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 8:14amThe real reason people were concerned was because of possible black mail issues? So lets see, the guy is out of a job, his personal life is in a controlled crash landing, so now he is still prone to black mail and will have to have protection over him the rest of his life?
I mean, yeah, that would be a convenient way out, admitting an affair, or it could be the man is human and has a personal life we should respect? Did he lie under oath about something? I think we all owe the man a debt of honor for his service, and that should extend to his personal life?

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 7:47amThere is a completely different angle to this whole resignation that I captured in the following brief essay. It was published last week at virginianewssource.com.
o Some say that the new head of the CIA, Michael Morrell, looks creepy. He should look creepy because his number two job right now is pulling the strings that will bring down anyone in the chain of command involving the Benghazi treason on the night of 9/11/12. His task is to ensure that the outrage felt by the professional intelligence community finds an outlet.
He’s a professional’s professional and is leading the team that will purge government of all the traitors responsible for those four men losing their lives. Look for an avalanche of resignations from all branches of government at the end of this year. Lucky will be the ones who get to resign and head to the farm. Up to 9/11/12, the folks at the CIA had been bystanders, watching the acts of treason from the sidelines. The deaths of two of their own and two others, including a US Ambassador, put them in the game; and, the consequences for those in the chain-of-command will be life changing. Just ask General Petraeus.
Naturally, the piece de resistance will be the Sewer Rat-in-Chief. Look for incontrovertible proof to surface about his guy-on-guy times, his dealings with Chicago mobsters and those college records declaring his Indonesian citizenship. The professionals can make all that happen rather easily.

Problem with being away from wives and husbands is a historical problem. It’s too easy for the flesh to take over the heart, mind and soul of a person. Humans are frail.
I like it where Adam said, “the woman YOU gave me made me sin”. The clown blamed both God and the woman. If you ask me, which you didn’t, women are power brokers when it comes to sex…some know it…some don’t.
