Now that the initial shock from Friday’s sudden announcement that CIA Director and celebrated military general David Patraeus was resigning amidst an FBI investigation into an extra-marital affair, (an affair that came to light to the FBI after the mistress sent threatening emails to another woman she believed to be a rival for Petraeus’s affection) questions are now being asked in regards to whether this is just a personal matter or a major national security concern. Its been reported that several lawmakers knew about the affair before the story broke, with others now raising questions to why they were not informed when the FBI investigation began. The timing of when the investigation leaked has also been called into question for its closeness after President Obama’s re-election and days before Petraeus was to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee regarding the Benghazi attack. Also, if there was no blackmail or security breach triggered by Petraeus’s affair, why would he have stepped down?
Watch a clip below from Monday’s ‘Real News‘ analysis of the story:

Nov. 13, 2012 at 9:10amThe POTUS holds as much or more national security intell than the CIA Director. Didn’t the Dems and MSM assure us 15 years ago that an extramarital affair in the Oval Office was no big deal?

Nov. 12, 2012 at 10:35pmAny time a person with access to classified information, particularly the higher up you go, it potentially damages or causes damage to national security. It puts the person in a position to be exploited, black-mailed, where they can be manipulated, etc. This affair, even though it was with a U.S. military reservist, could have and, if it had been known by a foreign intelligence asset, *would have* been exploited to the fullest extent possible. Not a good scene, not a good scene at all, not only for Petraeus and his family, but reflects horribly on the Obama Administration and it’s handling of intelligence and intelligence assets on top of the already horrid handling of what went on in Benghazi. This is just the tip of the freakin’ iceberg, bet money on that.

Nov. 12, 2012 at 10:32pmHello nervous people in Washington, Watching the spread of this story? Are you starting to look around corners? Frantically trying to remember what you might have said to whom? Beginning to wonder who will jump first?
Me too. Not the nervous part, I’m a regular schmoo so I don’t get to break the law. But, I am watching to see who will go first. Don’t fool yourselves, you don’t walk back four dead Americans that WE know begged for your help. The American people can be forgiving, for a time, the clock is running. We all know the rules of the life boat, there are only so many seats.
Almost everyone I know loves somebody in the military. A son, daughter, cousin, spouse, parent. I don’t personally know anybody that loves a politician. And their staff? Aren’t you the guys that make those clever utube videos making fun of the people you are suppose to serve? Surely if you are in an “agency” you are not under any illusions as to the American view of scandals involving you.
Conventional wisdom says a second term comes with more latitude. But, are you thinking like millions of us that Biden is not the greatest option? There must be a whole lot of people wondering if they might have a shot at the presidency. If this played out just right, someone might shed years off their personal plan. Maybe some staffer/backer looking for a toe hold for their candidate. Timing is everything.

Nov. 12, 2012 at 10:51pmHey, I wasn’t done…………..
The economy is not very strong. The country is divided. Lot’s of people looking for both a scapegoat and a diversion. Winter is setting in and many of us will be stuck inside with little to do. News anchors are coming undone on air. People screaming for help in New York. Republicans eating their own. Democrats weighing their futures. Main stream media is bleeding market share. Nothing like a scandal to focus attention, shed a few enemies, allow the people to vent, crown new hero’s, gosh almost sounds like a cure all.
The problems associated with voting/working for a group that believes in winners and losers must be starting to register right about now. Somebody pass the popcorn. ………okay, now I’m finshed.

Nov. 12, 2012 at 9:28pmBlack ops, covert ops? “Extra claws that the Eagle [USA] will attach to itself”?
A prophecy April 29, 1970: “The time of the Red Horse is here.” [See The Revelation 6:3-4.]
“I have said that the Horse will attack the Bear [Soviets]. Now, I will warn thee that the Eagle shall join the Bear. The fuse is lit. And as it burns, it may consume thy earth. As in all things, a free choice — there are chances still that this shall not happen. But from the extra claws the Eagle will attach to itself, it does not look like it shall avoid these wars. Therefore, the crucial time shall be in the next ten years.
Prepare thy group for its coming. Prepare for the time of famine.”
What crucial thing may have happened? Was it in 1979, when the U.S. President had the CIA covertly
fund and train Bin Laden to raise a militia to drive the Soviets from Afghanistan?
In 1988-89, the Soviets left; then Bin Laden began forming Al Qaeda. A prophecy, January 29, 1988: “China is the Dragon. And the Red Horse is Pakistan. For what you have given unto this country, Pakistan, you have given unto the “Black September.” And for what the nations shall give unto the power of the Palestinians is but a short time they shall have it back, for this is a nation of terrorists, murders, who have cared not, for they have not known of God, nor shall they ever − for they are the Anti-Christ….” https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzyT3fgGxb4-NDQ3NWM2N2YtNmYyZi00MzQzLWIyMDQtMmFhMmM2NDhiZDY1&authkey=CO7

Nov. 12, 2012 at 9:12pmThe question should not be “Could the affair threaten national security”. A reserve major has classified information on her personal computer. She has access to the personal email account of the D-CIA. She gives speeches containing classified information. D-CIA said he did not give it to her, it must have been other Commanders while she was “embeded” and “researching”. The question is: “How seriously does this affair threaten our national security.

Nov. 13, 2012 at 8:08amLast night I thought it was a little far-fetched for the D-CIA to imply “other commanders” might have given her the classified information. This morning we see that another General is under investigation concerning between 20,000 to 30,000 pages of information and or emails sent (over a two year period) to the very person that was the starting point of the D-CIA investigation. It is starting to look like D-CIA knew exactly what he was talking about concerning other commanders. How many more Generals will suddenly be looking forward to an earlier than expected retirement date?

Nov. 12, 2012 at 9:25pmIsn’t it amazing how everyone is fair game to the accusations the media can throw. At the same time Obama is seemingly protected. If a republican were to have become president, nothing he did would be right. Come on nation- lets pull together and right is right. There are not different versions to right. Obama will destroy us and probably finacially. Nothing comes free.

Nov. 12, 2012 at 8:49pmOh, come on. After the American thinking public were barraged for months by Al and Jessie and that phony media witch hunt known as the Zimmerman Affair ? Then the White House LEAKED source info about the Navy Seals taking out Bin Laden ( Obama got the big praise , wink wink ) on the front page of their Lap Dog NYT . Do you really think the American public believes all of the media dust up about ” national security ” over this affair ( pardon the pun ) endangering national security ? Surely you jest, White House ?! Or are you Democrats having a ” Colorado Rocky Mountain High ?” No way, Uncle Jose or Barack . Remember what Joe Wilson said about you back in 2009 ? I believe every one one of the two words he said. You, Obama Administration, have proven them to be true .

Nov. 12, 2012 at 9:06pmOops . Got a bit carried away from my main message which was : this threatens the Obama Administration which I don’t think cares nearly as much about America’s national security as their job security. Their motto now just might be a twist on the words of JFK: Ask not what they can do for America, but what America can do for their bottom line and what the MSM can do to protect their backsides ! JFK must be rolling over..no….make that ” twirling.”
