Remember That ‘Firenado’? The Guy Behind the Footage Says Al Gore Wants to Use It — And Wait Until You Hear the Response

Just a couple months ago, TheBlaze brought you the amazing footage of a “firenado” — or a fire tornado — shot in the Australian Outback by filmmaker Chris Tangey. Now, Al Gore wants to use the stunning footage in his next documentary about climate change, but Tangey says not so fast.

Chris Tangey Wont Sell His Footage of a Fire Tornado to Al Gores Climate Reality Project Until They Ensure Context

This image is from Chris Tangey’s footage of a fire tornado. (Image: Good Morning America screenshot)

According to NT News, members of the former U.S. vice president’s Climate Reality Project tried twice to purchase rights to use the video from Tangey. Here’s what Tangey had to say about that:

“I am still happy to sell it to Mr Gore if he can convince me that this event was caused by, or was in any way attributable to, man-made climate change,” he said.

“Unfortunately both times he has asked I have put that challenge back to his organisations, but then didn’t even receive a response.”

To NT News, Tangey described the storm as a “highly localized event” and when it comes to the footage he wants to ensure that “usage of this material should be scientifically valid and in context.”

The first attempt to obtain rights to the footage occurred in September and the latest came last week from Climate Reality Project producer Andrea Smith, according to NT News. The publication learned from emails it obtained from Smith that the footage would be used to “invite conversation and discussion.”

In case you missed it, check out some of Tangey’s film featured in this Good Morning America report:

Although we call it a fire tornado, in our previous post about the footage we reported Life’s Little Mysteries explaining that the event is really more like a dust devil than a tornado proper. Read more about how these events form in that article here.

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

I’ve seen the dust whirlwinds out here quite a few times. Were these fire whirlwinds similar? Were they during the recent summer fires? It makes sense because the wind is only grabbing what is on the ground and giving it a spin.

Nothing new here, micorscale magnification of normal atmospheric dynamics at play and there are multiple videos of this on YouTube. There’s even video of one which resulted from bourbon which leaked into a nearby lake and caught fire (that one is a true tragedy…when you think of all the wasted bourbon)

The Earth has been warming since the Ice Age. This doesn’t mean that man caused it. However, it is clear that the Carbon budget that Gore espouses doesn’t add up. Lord Christopher Monckton has demonstrated with math and very understandable physics that (human) Carbon is not the cause of global warming. Naturally, the lefties vilify him because math trumps their belief systems.

It has now got to the point where every rain storm, every tornado, hurricane, thunderstorm, and every sunny day will now be attributed to the false premise of climate change. The climate change kool aid drinkers will use all of these as if they are new phenomena to support their radical beliefs.

Dust devils are caused by global warming too!!! I know I’ve personally seen them!

Algore and the rest of the global warmists blame anything they’ve never seen before on their pet theory. Firestorms are common if the conditions are right, and those conditions have been right for a LONG time. Even when the earth was cooler.

NOBODY can prove that humans are responsible for any warming. It’s all theory until it can be proven, and it can’t be.

According to Gore, the reason that he will no longer answer questions of this nature is because, “The debate is over, the consensus among all the “real” scientists is that global warming is rapidly occuring and is caused by fossil fuel emissions in industry and automobiles.”

Isn’t it ironic that science by it’s very nature is a discipline which is NEVER decided by consensus or majority and the debate on any subject is NEVER over and always subject to question, and modification.
Al’s version of science is a nothing more than politics, and promotion.

Fire whirls (look them up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_whirl) are quite common in wildfires. They have been observed in large urban fires like the Great Chicago fire and the 1908 fire in San Francisco following the earthquake. In 1923 a fire whirl following an earthquake in Japan killed 38,000 people.

This guy got some neat video but it is not something unusual. It is also not unusual for droughts to last for years in parts of Australia. All in all big deal, nothing either new or out of the ordinary. But spoon feed to idiots it becomes another tool of propaganda.

Al Gore is an idiot who needs to retire to either of his million dollar mansions and do his part to warm the earth by using more electricity in a day than the average family uses in a year. Here you have the typical elitest. Don’t do what I do, do as I say do.
