True Story: Cadre of Clowns Disrupts North Carolina Nazi and KKK Gathering
Here’s a sentence you won’t read every day: Neo-Nazis and members of the Ku Klux Klan were upstaged during a Charlotte, North Carolina rally Saturday by a crowd of defiant clowns determined to drown out the white supremacist message.
WCNC says the counter-protesters outnumbered the white supremacists by a ratio of about 5 to 1, and that instead of shouting or chanting, they employed devices like squeaky toys and whistles to distract from the white supremacist rally. Somewhat surprisingly, none of the clowns were assaulted, and no arrests were made.
WCNC has more:
When the speakers talked about “White Power,” the protesters sprinkled white flour. Another held a sign reading “Wife Power.”
They said they wanted to make a point that racism is ridiculous.
“The message from us is, you look silly,” said Lacey Williams, the youth coordinator for Charlotte’s Latin American Coalition. “We’re dressed like clowns and you’re the ones that look funny.”
Jeff Schoep of the National Socialist Movement, a neo-Nazi group based in Detroit, said his organization wants to be an alternative third party to the country’s two-party system. Its platform is based on white supremacy.
Protestor Tom Strini donned his red nose and rainbow wig to take an opposing point of view.
“Instead of meeting hate with hate, they were going to meet hate with love,” said Strini of the protestors.
“I think it’s really important to have a sense of humor,” added Williams. “What they want is for us to fight them. They want us to hit them with hate. We can’t become them.” [Emphasis added]
Here are some photos of the merry “clowns”:

The white supremacists looked far from amused:

Even a city council member showed up on the side of the clowns, donning a red nose in support.
“We’re just a great big happy melting pot,” said councilman John Autry commented. “I just wanted to come out here and make sure people understood that I did not support the views of the people behind up here with the microphones.”
The event lasted roughly two hours, according to reports, at which point the supremacists gave up and left. A number of the 75 policemen in attendance escorted the group back to a parking garage and though clowns filled the lot, it remained peaceful.
WCNC has video of the unusual occurrence:

How about the Black Panthers, Louis Farrakan and company, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rev. Wright, etc. etc.

Just put them all in an arena and give me some weapons and let them duke it out gladiator style. Might be entertaining. But then that’s not very civilized is it.

Once again, you wear your screen name proudly. You have some nerve putting the NAACP and La Raza on equal footing with the KKK, on of the most vile organizations in the history of America. Tell me, oh great Jerk, how many lynchings have been perpetrated by the NAACP or La Raza? Yeah, that’s what I thought…
As for the New Black Panther Party (NBP), keep in mind it’s an incredibly small fringe group (and yes, I grant you, they ARE a hate group, and a vicious one at that) that has been repeatedly disavowed by the original Black Panthers themselves (Bobby Seale, one of the founding members of the BP, has made it clear he had no time for the NBP’s xenophobia, antisemitism and racism). The reason the MSM doesn’t report their every move, like the Blaze does, is that they are irrelevant. They did not hijack the election and they do not represent the black community AT ALL. The NBP are a bunch of angry racist fools and I think you should stop giving them so much attention.

If you injure a black because of his color it is a hate crime. If you injure a white guy because he is white, it is not a hate crime. That is Holder’s official declaration before congress.

Compare the amount of lynchings to the amount of white people killed by blacks every year. Blacks have a bigger racism problem than white people, even counting the despicable KKK and wannabe nazi retards like this group.

Since you didn’t provide us with actual statistics, it is a little difficult to compare anything. And even if you could prove to me that more people died from “black on white violence” than did from the KKK’s lynchings, that still wouldn’t mean much. You would then have to prove that those “black on white” acts were racially motivated, which all of the Klan’s murders clearly were. Look, I’m not trying to pick a fight here. I just cannot stand false equivalences which hinder rational discussion.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 7:09pmSoNick, not sure where your disconnect rests, so let’s try one more time.
Racism is racism, period. BET, NAACP, La Raza, Black Congressional Congress… are all threats to race relations. All are based on race/ethnicity… exclusively. All fracture society along racial/ethnic divides. All result in hate by those excluded, or those not reaping the benefits of being in their protected, special, exclusive race/ethnicity.
Has the KKK committed heinous acts? Yes. Have the others cultivated an environment of hate where others commit heinous acts? Probably. Don’t the others create the motivation for the KKK to act? Yes. Hate begets hate. You can make any excuse that you choose to excuse your accepted version of hate, but that changes nothing in the real world.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 7:23pmI stand with THE_JERK on this one.
It is one thing to have a group of like minded people rally for an idea (religious apologists, environmentalists, Tea Party, etc) and quite another to have it based on color or ethnicity.
Racism is evil, regardless how it is presented.
To be a champion for the poor is fine, to be a champion of only the poor of a certain color is wrong.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 2:39pmWish I would have known this was happening. As a resident of Charlotte, I would have gladly dressed up like a clown and joined them. White Supremacy is just dumb. Now, that being said, I do wish our society would wake up to the fact that hate is more than a 1 way street in every situation. White on black, dems vs. republicans, gay vs. straight, and jew vs arab. Yes, it works both ways and sometimes there is even “guilt” racism. You know when that person allows the minority to do something that would be racist if the majority did it, but you allow it because you don’t want to look racist. Or how about a black person using the N word. Somehow said by white person…racist and offensive; said by black person to another black person…that’s just cool hip language.
Our society is so full of hypocrisy it is sad.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 2:31pmThe Klan and the Nazis are comical sometimes. However…..they will bring forth the future in a sad way. I think the more liberal disruption and attempts to socialize the nation will breed groups like the Klan and the Nazis. New groups under new names will grow and be semi-allied to them. Whites feel pushed and discriminated against. They will fight back. Most will not be Nazis nor Klansmen but they will follow a good speaker who points out the forces trying to hurt them. Liberalism will breed a counter-revolution which will breed a right wing dictator. He is coming. It happened in Germany and other lands…it will happen here.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 2:26pmI have a history professor of African descendency that loves to point out how racist white people are. Never misses the chance to explain to the pale faces in the audience that they’re products of white privilege. Needless to say he voted for Obama and believes that it was a referendum on race in this country. As I am too old to give a crap, and I’ve suffered worse repercussions from better men than him, I raised my hand to add my two cents to this referendum. If I were to say the things he says, with colors reversed, I would be expelled. The reason we come down so hard on white Supremacy and Racism is that if and when they get their act together, they actually prosecute some of the most vile things in history. The “real” racism in our society is the fact that he can go uncensured for saying his bigotted vitriol because no one believes he has the power, inclination or ability to make anything of it. Essentially, let the darkie vent, just keep voting Democrat. Needless to say, I’m not sure I’m going to pass.

They have been very quite over the past four years and figured they were quite happy with a black president. I guess not, assuming Obama is in the same crowd these chuckle-heads are against. But then given their platform they are no better than the elitist Muslims types of the if “You ain’t Muslim, you ain’t (and BTW deserve to die)”.
I look to the Democratic party embracing this group, I mean there isn’t to many “groups” left the Democrats do not pander to. And of course they will do it, as it will further marginalize the Republicans. Though I can’t see the Republicans ever embracing these fools. But I have been wrong a time or two.

No, clearly identify politics is present and used heavily by the Left. Of course, the Nazis and KKK are and have always been products of, and patronized by, the Left. I see individuals as individuals, and find the winning argument to be “Individual rights for all, equally”. Trying to play the effeminate, emotion laden racist game with people well practiced in the art is an exercise in supreme futility. Cool, dispassionate reason with either prevail, or the emotional rage racist types on all sides will consume themselves destroying each other.

While you make some good points I would like to just add one more time that no one is really disputing the notion of Identity politics today ecept some of the supposedly Conservatives on the Blaze that are so afraid they may say something offensive to someone who really doesn’t give a rip about you anyway… lol
The other problem is as I’ve pointed out I’m all for non White Constitionalists but it doesn’t change the fact that they are an anomoly.. Pretty much nonexistent with the exception of the 5-10%. The whole notion that these were liberal groups is pretty much absurd. You guys engage in intellectual dishonesty way too much. Wilcow, Hannity, Beck Limbaugh, Oreilly etc.. I know that even they don’t believe what they are saying.
I’m not going to fight about the right or left paradigm but the truth is they were about 60-70% right wing and 30-40% leftist. .Nothing is ever as black or white as they”d have you believe.

I’m a bit confused how saying that the Left clearly engages in identify politics, is giving them a pass.
And I find the GOP reprehensible. They are irresponsible and clearly not fit to govern. Be that as it may, the Democrats are even more unfit by a factor of ten.
My answer is that educating “group think” types about individualism will yield far more palatable fruit, than “whites” banding together and playing the same mindless games that the Dems play. The answer to collectivism has always been collectivism across history, and we had a world based on slavery, feudalism, dictatorships and thug culture. The first real answer that worked against collectivism was presented during the Enlightenment with the notion of individualism and individual rights. I’d rather try that path again instead of reverting to a policy whose horrible effects we have seen in living color for thousands of years.
So yes, Left = identity politics. They are wrong to do so, clearly, and I condemn such antics. To condemn though, I cannot take up their tactics myself. Let’s start recreating Man as individual instead of reverting to “man” as a creature of the tribe.

Sorry to interject but, i have been fascinated by this debate between you. My beliefs are in line with GHOST’s but kudos to both of you for actually having the rare intelligent, coherent, dialogue on the subject…
Topics like this almost never get past the finger pointing and name- calling…
By the way. I, too, advocate a fair playing field.. but i’m not so confident that’s what the KKK and Nazis are endorsing…

Actually, based on research I was doing in the late 1980′s through early 1990′s, I had concluded even then that the Nazi (ne fascist) party was clearly a development of the Left. Even a casual glance at the roots of fascism in Europe sees it developing mainly from the organic anarcho-socialist movements of the early 1900′s (of which Mussolini was a disgruntled member). To say I was mocked at college for making that assertion without fear would be an understatement.
And the KKK tie in to the Democratic losers of the South after the Civil War is a well known fact on all sides of the debate and is/was a prime vehicle for getting southern Democrats elected (losing a Democratic Congressman who was a grand wizard, recently, for example). How is this even a question?
In short, don’t conclude that you’re dealing with a man who takes the word of a radio host as Gospel. That would be a rather large mistake.

Thank you. Up is approaching the topic honestly and with conviction that he’s right, and being quite civil, I’m quite happy to engage in discussions with him on this topic. And you’re right, nobody ever gets past the finger pointing stage, which is a real loss given how much rides on the outcome of such a debate on the national scale. Imagine putting racism to bed once and for all, finally. Instead we have bullied silence beat into the racist side, while the other side indulges in what they think is subtle racism all the while basically enslaving minorities in the name of compassion.
Not sure if that’s clear, kind of a mind vomit from me. :) But thank you again. And thank you Up for keeping this quite refreshing. If only more would.

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 6:41pmGhostOfJefferson: Well that’s a fair answer to the identity politics; however, I believe that you simply make a foundational mistake to believe that all men are equally capable of reason.. A very big leap and a cursory review of history proves that it’s just not so..
Tell me this you hate 9-11 correct and believe the perps should be brought to justice I suppose? 3k American’s murdered. Yet order of 10k Whites have been murdered by blacks alone for 20-30 years straight in America and 100s of thousands of black on white rapes.. You are quick to overlook this fact?
You may state white’s murder too and you’d be correct but the proportionality is not even close.. Just some rudimentary stats from like 2007 state that blacks making up less than 15% of US pop commit over 50% of the violent crime.. Yet this is no big deal? You gloss over it like it did not exist. I think you’d be surprised over how wide spread this was and I consider it an epidemic if you only knew about it… However the mainstream Media refuses to cover it..
You a grown man.. I won’t try to persuade you too much because I suspect it’s a loss cause but try to see it from another’s point of view.
Finally you are correct about the old Souther Dems; however you fail to mention that after the Civil Rights Act and Immigration Act they all bailed from the Dem Party to make up the Southern Republican coalition.. You and I both know it to be fact.. Why not a little intellectual honesty here? I believe th

Posted on November 13, 2012 at 2:06amFINALLY. The CORRECT response.
I lived in Greensboro during the 1979 “Death to the Klan” rally. Being belligerent to a handful of goofballs just made them go to the trunk of the car & get powerful weapons & kill several people. I always thought that one should bring beach chairs, soft drinks & noisemakers & confetti & sit & LAUGH & POINT at this handful of malcontents. After all, there are SO FEW active Klansmen in the USA that their rallies have maybe a dozen of them at a “big” rally. Being savage back at them just reinforces them & their response in kind.
