House Dems Boo Luke Russerts Question Asking Nancy Pelosi Whether Democratic Leadership Is Getting Too Old

House Democrats booed NBC’s Luke Russert on Wednesday for asking House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) whether her decision to run again for Democratic leader “prohibits the party from having a younger leadership.”

Russert’s question during a news conference elicited sharp rebukes from the other women House members on stage, including calls of “discrimination!”, “boo!” and “wow!”

“You’ve always asked that question except to [Republican Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Pelosi shot back.

“No, excuse me,” Russert insisted. “You, Mr. [Minority Whip Steny] Hoyer, Mr. [Assistant Minority Leader James] Clyburn, you’re all over 70, is your decision to stay on prohibiting younger leadership from moving forward?”

 

“So you’re suggesting that everybody step aside?” Pelosi asked.

“No, I’m simply saying that delaying younger leadership from moving forward in the House Democratic wing — ” Russert countered.

“Let’s for a moment honor it as a legitimate question, although it’s quite offensive but you don’t realize that I guess,” Pelosi said.

She said “the fact is” she has worked tirelessly to get younger people elected to Congress, particularly women, in order for their seniority to kick in much sooner.

Pelosi added that “you’ve got to take off about 14 years from me because I was home raising a family, getting the best experience of all in diplomacy, interpersonal skill,” to applause from her colleagues.

“The answer is no,” Pelosi said.

    Democrats: The old mostly white people lying to the poor for votes. GOP has a full lineup of younger Governors, Senators, and Congressmen. Democrats have the group that has been getting reelected for decades.

      Wow… This made me want to vomit. I cannot believe these people represent Americans. Even the Republicans, John Boehner and Mitch McConnel need to be removed from their positions.

      Government is a reflection of its society, well at least the majority of it. Godless degenerates, seeking government to take care of us from cradle to grave.

      This country will only heal when leaders become philosophers. A government led not by a philosopher is led by special interest, an agenda, opinions and inconsistency. A government led by a philosopher is done so by consistency, virtue and honesty.

      If she’s offended by a question about her age, maybe she’s too old to deal with really tough issues like ambassador rape, President-ordered murders, sex scandals, war, etc.

      I mean, if you can’t ask her a question about her age, how can we expect her to deal with facts surrounding the most offensive administration in history?

    Is it sad to say that I look forward to the day that Nancy has to come back to reality and face what damage her 10 years of leadership has done?

    All those decrying “discrimination” and/or “wow” at the legitimate question are going to be in utter disbelief when the house of cards they’ve built comes down and brings America to her knees.

    There should have been an ammendment decades ago to impose term limits on members of congress. And that goes for state legislators as well. You should not be able to make politics a career, period.

    Nobody should be able to live their entire adult lives as a senator or representative. People having been in congress for ten…twenty…thirty years and beyond is ridiculously absurd.

    When in the process of being elected by your constiuents of your state to represent them either in the Senate of House you cannot due to the “Old Boy’s/Girl’s” status in place.
    You have not earned your position to be part of us, debate or question us,or hold any position of responsability unless I/We say so.
    Until then you will mind your place, answer to Me/Us, do it our way or we will make life unbearable for you.
    Then when you become and old cow like Nancy, a senile old fart like Harry, a wishy washy I am not sure what to do or say like John or Mitch…..then and only then can you join the club.
    Until then watch me continue to fail, be ultra partisan, speak out of my A$$ and believe that I have some worth in what I do.
    Your so right, we do need term limits or at least a Lemon Law within 120 days of an election.

    Remember, Pelosi was the person who just a couple of days ago marched the Democrat house on stage and pretty much stated “Look how many colored people we have in the House now”. The Democrats are the kings of discrimination and racism yet they cover it up with “good intentions”.

      I do have to add that Mitch McConnell is about the least impressive face of the Republican Party I’ve seen in a while although Boehner isn’t far behind. I know there are forceful, articulate, media (voter) appealing Republicans out there, so please keep McConnell off camera.

      The old white guys can run the show from off camera but we’re losing the media battle in a hyper-visual political world.

    Well she said we won’t know what is in the bill until after it has been pass in regard to Obamacare so did she think we were to old, stupid or would see something we shouldn’t see before passing. She was just as bad in discriminating and bossy. Obamacare was full of bad surprises and will ruin our healthcare as we knew it.
