Mitt Romney Tells Top Donors: Obama Won Because of His ‘Gifts’ to Base Voters

WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is telling top donors that President Barack Obama won re-election because of the “gifts” he had already provided to blacks, Hispanics and young voters and because of the president’s effort to paint Romney as anti-immigrant.
“The president’s campaign, if you will, focused on giving targeted groups a big gift,” Romney said in a call to donors on Wednesday. “He made a big effort on small things.”
Romney said his campaign, in contrast, had been about “big issues for the whole country.” He said he faced problems as a candidate because he was “getting beat up” by the Obama campaign and that the debates allowed him to come back.
Obama won the popular vote by about 3.5 million votes, or 3 percent, and won the Electoral College by a wide margin, 332-206 electoral votes. Exit polls conducted for The Associated Press and television networks showed that Obama led Romney by 11 percentage points among women and won better than 7 of 10 Hispanic voters and more than 9 of 10 black voters.
Romney called his loss to Obama a disappointing result that he and his team had not expected, but he said he believed his team had run a superb campaign. He said he was trying to turn his thoughts to the future, “but, frankly, we’re still so troubled by the past, it’s hard to put together our plans for the future.”
Romney’s finance team organized the call to donors. A person who listened to Romney’s call provided details about it to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the call was private. The Los Angeles Times first reported Romney’s remarks.
Among the “gifts” Romney cited were free health care “in perpetuity,” which he said was highly motivational to black and Hispanic voters as well as for voters making $25,000 to $35,000 a year.
Romney also said the administration’s promise to offer what he called “amnesty” to the children of illegal immigrants – what he termed “the so-called DREAM Act kids” – helped send Hispanics to the polls for Obama.
Young voters, Romney said, were motivated by the administration’s plan for partial forgiveness of college loan interest and being able to remain on their parents’ health insurance plans. Young women had an additional incentive to vote for Obama because of free contraception coverage under the president’s health care plan, he said.
“I’m very sorry that we didn’t win,” he told donors. “I know that you expected to win. We expected to win. We were disappointed; we hadn’t anticipated it.”
Romney said he and his team were discussing how his donor group could remain connected and have an influence on the direction of the Republican Party and even the selection of a future nominee – “which, by the way, will not be me.”
Asked about Romney’s remarks, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a potential contender for the GOP nomination in 2016, strongly condemned those in the GOP who classify voters based on income, race or age and said the party cannot concede wide swaths of voters and expect to win elections.
“We have got to stop dividing the American voters,” Jindal told reporters in Las Vegas, where the Republican Governors Association was meeting. “We need to go after 100 percent of the vote, not 53 percent. We need to go after every single vote.”

The U.S. will never again have a white President, neither male nor female. Our first female President will be a black woman; the Vice President will be a Democratic male Hispanic. Valerie Jarrett for President 2016!!! Long Live the Communist International !!!

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 6:30amThe best gift any candidate could have given to donors and the American people would have been the gift of a candidate who really believed in the Constitution ….and a record testifying to that fact. Mitt lost because he was cut from the same bolt of cloth….big government and policeman of the world. Same message as Barry, but just a tiny bit slower in implementation of progressive policies.
I voted for Mitt not because I believed him or believed in his message, but to get the marxist out of our white house, and maybe buy us a few years.
Mitt: this is a lame excuse on your part. Stop whining. A lot of people like me (libertarian/constitutionalist) voted for you ONLY to buy time…not because we loved your record.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 4:05amWe wonder why and how B_HO got re-elected, I am, by no means, not a Biblical scholar. So most of what I got (about this topic) comes from the books by Joel Rosenberg. I believe it was in the one titled Twelfth Imam, where he talks of the 12th Imam rising from mass chaos in the middle-east, the anti-Christ who rules for seven (7) years. The anti-Christ is commonly referred to as “a sheep in Wolf’s clothing”, so in other words he gives freely to the less educated, fortunate and the pure lazy cheats. He gets them under his will and away from GOD’s will; by the time it’s discovered he’s not what he claims millions of souls are lost and the battle of the fake Imam and the anti-Christ nearly destroys the planet. That’s the day darkness gives way to light and HE returns.
B_HO is going into his 5th year

Hispanics come from third world countries, many of those countries are either socialist or communist or the poverty in those places is so high, that they have NO understanding of American capitalism. American blacks are pressured and brainwashed in the urban public school systems from the earliest ages into believing in socialism, and have voted 93-96% Democrat for 4 decades. Young people spend tons of time being indoctrinated by socialist professors and have no real world experience to base opinions on. They don’t become conservatives until they start paying income texes.

Think about the legacy this administration will leave: A president who apologizes for us around the world..and endorses same sex marriage when it became apparent it would get him votes, and even though he says God bless America…his pastor of 20 years said God Damn America….There is one agenda that this president has and that is to take America down and bring us all to the altar of Government. He thinks he has got some useful idiots in the deal by using class warfare, and maybe he does, but when the money runs out and the riots begin…we will see where those so loyal now run to. We are a people who rebound, and we will.. because the truth is on our side..and God is still in control, no matter how it looks. I feel sorry for the Obama Sheep because they are blinded by group think. Yes invest in education so they can continue to subvert the culture to their way of thinking. Of the 45 communist goals outlined in the book The Naked Communist, almost every single one has been achieved. Goal 20 and 21… Infiltrate the Press…I’d say they got that on lock down. What’s sad is the people helping to achieve these goals probably don’t even know it, they are simply going along with the group/mob.

If we don’t get back to Biblical Judeo/Christian principles this country is doomed. Those that say to compromise on social issues don’t understand that if the so-called evangelicals came out as a unified block and stood for true biblical principles and values – if we had God’s agenda the rest would come. * 334,000 votes in 4 states separated the Dems vs. Repubs taking the presidency or roughly 0.28% of the voting population…that is:
1) New Hampshire’s 4 electoral college votes by a margin of 40,659.
Obama won with 368,529 to Romney’s 327,870.
2) Romney lost Florida’s 29 electoral college votes by a margin of 73,858.
Obama won with 4,236,032 to Romney’s 4,162,174.
3) Romney lost Ohio’s 18 electoral college votes by a margin of
103,481. Obama won with 2,697,260 to Romney’s 2,593,779
4) Romney lost Virginia’s 13 electoral college votes by a margin of
115,910. Obama won with 1,905,528 to Romney’s 1,789,618.
These account for 64 electoral college votes and this switch of 333,908 votes in
these four key states if added to Romney’s 206 and remove them from Obama’s 332, and Romneydefeats Obama 270 to 268.
Then add in:
5) Nevada with 6 electoral votes with a margin of 66,379 (528,801 to 462,422)
6) Iowa with 6 electoral votes with a margin of 88,501 (816,429 to 727,928)
7) Colorado with 9 electoral votes with a margin of 113,009 (1,238,490 to 1,125,391)
These account for another 17 electoral votes…so in total 64 (above) + 17 =81 electoral votes all within 601,218 total votes or roughly 0.5% of the total voting population decided the race….the totals above equate to 1 small to large town in each state….also, on average of each of the 7 states, the difference is ~86,000 votes per state

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 10:27pmDid you tell them why they are the base voters? Did you tell them that 95% of the African American voters have succomb to racism? No. They all will see how siding with their color will destroy them. 0bamas a bastard, and a straight-up-liar.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 10:37pmYou give me a laugh. I think if anyone had a right to be racist and this coming from a white 28 year old male, would be the oppressed. Don’t you think they have more of a right to be racist then the fat white family eating at MC. D everyday and have a nice house on credit. The honey boo boo’s of this world. While they make there way from nothing living that way because of coming from slavery and oppression at the hands of our white ancestors. There’s still a lot of white racism today, This is ignorance of the highest caliber. You can’t even begin to place yourself in there shoes.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 1:33pmObviously, GBIG needs to go back to his remedial public school and learn the difference between there, their, and they’re. He could also use a refresher in the difference between your and you’re. I am just waiting for him to call us “loosers” since I have often found that those who don’t understand the differences pointed out earlier often misunderstand the difference between lose and loose.
Arguing with someone like him on the internet serves no purpose. Like most liberals who get on conservative sites, he is just spouting talking points. Based on his argument, Blacks who are racist against Whites are just practicing a form of reparation. After all…if the whites were oppressive to blacks in history, it’s okay for the blacks to repay that oppression by oppressing whites today.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 10:26pmAlexis de Tocqueville said, “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
He said this in 1835. We will see it unfold in our lifetime. While I don’t like what has happened, it has opened my eyes to one glaring fact. My country is not in the equation of my salvation. My country will go by the wayside. It is just real estate. This isn’t my last stop on this road. God is in control and remains no matter what comes.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 10:16pmAll very true but still maintain the biggest reason are the millions who were too lazy or couldn’t be bothered to get to the polls to vote. It is just really disgusting. Said it before and I’ll say it again I hope they are the first ones to lose their jobs and get hit with higher taxes because they deserve just what they will be getting. Sadly, we have to suffer as well.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 10:37pmWow, what it could have been, to have a man in the White House that the entire Liberal media could not find any thing to pin on him. A man who had decency and a Business since unlike any one before him. A Godly Man.
America choose:
Abortion
Gay Marriage
Non Support of the Apple of Gods Eyes
3 Votes at the DNC to Put God back in
3 Votes to put Jerusalem back in
A False God
An Idol
I hope God does not really intend to Judge everyone for every Word and Deed we have all done in our life, because isn’t our vote our Deed! Then a lot of Americans will be very disappointed on Judgement Day.

The 47% who don’t own stocks and bonds, have little use for lower capital gains taxes.
They need health care coverage, little mister “Go to an emergency room”
How crass, How callous. How cavalier

You sound like you have been listening to him, so why don’t you explain it to all of us? Better yet, explain it to the already highly educated that can’t find work in their field of study?
In 0bama’s world, high technology is saying “would you like fries wiff dat?” while wearing a microphone and a headset while some ghetto pimp rolls up in his Chrysler 300 basting Jay-Z.
