Obama Promises Immigration Reform After Inauguration: Comprehensive Bill and Pathway to Citizenship

President Barack Obama on Wednesday predicted a comprehensive immigration reform bill that includes a path to citizenship for those in the country illegally early next year.

“My expectation is we get a bill introduced and we begin the process in Congress very soon after my inauguration,” Obama told reporters during his first post-election news conference. “I think it should include a continuation of the strong border security measures that we’ve taken because we have to secure our borders. I think it should contain serious penalties for companies that are purposely hiring undocumented workers and taking advantage of them. And I do think there should be a pathway for legal status for those who are living in this country, are not engaged in criminal activity, are here simply to work.”

He continued, “It’s important for them to pay back taxes, it’s important for them to learn English, it’s important for them to potentially pay a fine but to give them the avenue whereby they can resolve their legal status here in this country.”

This promise by Obama is but one of the reasons I believe we as conservatives (not republicans) may never win a future election on principle. When you have a party (the dems) hell bent on power, willing to sell out the very laws of America, what can be done? They lie with impunity, the cheat and nothing happens. We would have to sink to their level to win legitimately.

Amazing how these fools voted for the very man that will destroy their livelihood, their very means of existence. Hope yall have your hearts set straight with the Lord.

After Reagan’s amnesty we were promised no more and never again. We were also told his amnesty would stop the problem. It failed. If politicians think another amnesty will stem the flow of illegals, they are delusional. GOP needs to understand agreeing to any amnesty will only give more votes to the democrats and cost the GOP votes. Another amnesty will only open the flood gates further and embolden the next wave to be even more demanding that we, the citizens, change our country and bend to their will. Enough!

If we must allow some of the current illegals to stay for whatever reason, if our government is going to be too squishy to kick them all out, then NO pathway to citizenship! How does it make any sense to even consider rewarding illegal entry with citizenship and voting rights? Give those who must stay a legal residency with no path ever to citizenship,have them learn english, make it so they can’t get any federal assistance for at least 15 years, and if they break any laws then their legal status gets revoked and they get deported. And do away with birthright citizenship anchor babies and birther tourism! Birthright citizenship only for those born to citizens or legal permanent residents, not visa holders and not illegals.

How can we have immigration reform when we aren’t even enforcing our current laws to know what needs to change? Melt the phone lines, no amnesty, no path to citizenship.

The majority of the 20-30 million illegal aliens our corrupted politicians aided and abetted and now allow to roam this country with impunity do not have the equivalent of a HS education. Our Social Security is going bankrupt and adding on 30+ million more will totally destroy it while those below SS age will be added to to government welfare rolls.

It is past and present members of Congress who allowed this invasion of illegal aliens and it these people who must not be rewarded and exonerated by Americans allowing them to pass amnesty. When you have one ethnic group (the majority of illegals here at Latino) demanding rights to which they are not entitled and certainly do not deserve convincing elected officials sworn to uphold our laws and Constitution caving to their demands we are now witnessing crossing the line that separates dereliction of duty from treason. I urge everyone to call their representatives and demand “No amnesty…..ever.”

  sounds good, except ………. all too many of them are either criminals, children, unemployed or are ‘paid under the table’ and don’t pay taxes.
  
  the amount of money we will spend to house, feed, educate, and heal them will be 50 times more than what they will pay in taxes.

IF Barry actually follows through with action (not sure he will) it will be carefully crafted to ensure Conservatives will block it if possible. Barry and the Demoncrats are NOT interested in solving the immigration problem because it is a wedge issue that they win 70% every time. Why fix a problem when you can blame it on the other guy and always win it. Notice that he made absolutely NO effort to “solve it” when he had clear majorities in both the House and Senate. That’s because it WOULD pass and he’d have to deal with the 60% of the population that was against it. This way, he gets his cake and eat it too.

  what is even stupider is in mexico they have check point ever where,if they catch illegals,they load them up and take them back to the boarder,that is they can’t bribe their way past ,but most of the time they just take them back to the boarder and kick them out,but yet they claim we are racist,they miss treat people,legal or not, their government is corrupt,and they want to tell us that our laws are wrong,i say send all of the illegals back and take all of Americas free hands outs away from mexico and let them deal with their own,we have enough problems, starting with our corrupt government.
