Petraeus Will Testify on Benghazi Behind Closed Doors on Friday
WASHINGTON (AP) — Former CIA Director David Petraeus will testify before the House Intelligence committee Friday on events that led to the death of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in an attack on the U.S. Consulate at Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11.
Spokesmen for the committee say the hearing will be closed to the public.
Petraeus resigned from the CIA last week after acknowledging an extramarital affair. The liaison was discovered during an FBI investigation of harassing emails allegedly sent by Petraeus’ biographer and mistress, Paula Broadwell, to Tampa socialite Jill Kelley. Broadwell allegedly saw Kelley as a rival.
The probe expanded to include Kelley’s copious communications with the top U.S. commander In Afghanistan, Marine Gen. John Allen.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 8:45amObama gets away again. If nobody is allowed to hear the truth it will never resolve. Half the country did not want this man as a president. He talks as if this was some unanimous vote. I truly believe that Obama has been like a sneaky rat up until he got re-elected. Now he has nothing to lose and we are going to be ruined by him as he levels the playing field and weakens my beautiful homeland.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 8:41amNothing will come of this sadly. We all know it. I am praying for just ONE person to have the courage to stand up and tell the truth regardless of the consequences. Doesn’t that one person know America will have his/her back? We would stand with anyone, ANYONE who would simply have the backbone to tell the absolute truth. This administration must have everyone in Washington completely afraid to speak out. :(

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 6:03amI can see Petraeus, as CIA director, testifying in closed session, but there are plenty of others up to their necks in this who need to be testifying in open session. But I don’t expect that to happen unless the Republicans in the House demand it. If all testimony from here on out is in closed session, it makes it easier for the Obama media to ignore it.

Of course Petraeus will testify on Benghazi, behind closed doors.
Obama doesn’t want the public to hear the truth about why our people in Benghazi were left defenseless, on the 11th anniversary of 9-11.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 3:57amTheirs transparent, and then there’s idiotic. Even if there were no other secrets in any other government agency, a CIA Director testifying about CIA activities would mean a closed session. It doesn’t matter who the President is. There’s never been an administration under which a CIA Director would testify about CIA operations in an open session, and there never will be.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 7:11amChet, yes your right about being a past CIA director. He has made some mistakes that have messed his life up. He has come open about his personal life. He now has a chance to restore his Honor by being honest. Yes he is behind the curtain tomorrow but he should willingly go to open hearings. Protecting secrets of illegal operations would not be the honorable thing for him to do. If this administration is conducting an illegal gunrunning operation in Benghazi and Syria or and they were interrogating prisoners (maybe waterboarding) in Benghazi against BHO public policy this all should be public information. The public really needed to know this before the election but BHO has been stonewalling. The public needs to know who they elected. I do not believe that illegal activity would have been conducted by the Ambassador or the CIA except by the direct request of the President. This is a choice for another soldier to end his career in an honorable way. John Kerry ended his career with a dishonorable discharge from me. I understand the General is a personal friend of his. I pray the General doesn’t take advice from this friend and that he does the right thing.

Petraeus is the wild card. They’ve been shooting warning shots across his bow for days, so they must be terrified of what he knows. Can Congress grant him immunity from prosecution?

Yep, What if the CIA spooks actually did have some Libyan radicals in custody and were treating them to some “enhanced interrogation” techniques? Every radical within a thousand square miles would get their towel hats in a wad, not to mention screams of “Abu Ghraib” here at home.
The closed door testimony will merely delay any negative consequences due to these possible revelations and will surely be leaked by those with less than honorable motives.
Just sayin’
