‘Real News’: Immunizing Yourself From ObamaCare
The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) will be implemented in full by 2014, putting millions more into the healthcare market just in time for a doctor shortage in the United States. ABC News reports that the United States will require at least 52,000 more family doctors in the year 2025 to keep up with the growing and increasingly older U.S. population.
Given this demand, the future of quality healthcare does not look so rosy. Some have come up with suggestions about how people who will likely lose their doctors or their current insurance (despite the president’s assurances to the contrary), can immunize themselves from the shortcomings of the new healthcare law. Some of those are practical, like start a health savings account or get a good primary care doctor; others seem a little out of reach, such as considering “medical tourism.”
On ‘Real News’ Wednesday the panel looked at the suggestions and discussed what–if anything–the aging population can do to avoid falling victim to rationed care.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 5:28pmseem there is simpler alternative to all these expensive failing systems but those in power have everything to lose and nothing gain so they take the rest of us kicking and screaming straight to hell so they can retain their power and cushy elitist life styles, they could have preformed a buyout of Medicaid medicare and social security. all the trillions wasted that these systems will continue to waste and burden us with you could have given a million dollars to every man woman and child and let them do as they wish but contractually be done with government help succeed or fail, problem solved.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 1:09pmEmployers should NOT BE ALLOWED to “provide” health care insurance to employees.
It should be YOUR policy, not your employers. Your policy will stay with YOU and not chain you to your current employer.
YOU will shop for the right policy and policy options for YOU.
As with parental involvement with their child’s education, direct involvement and responsibility for your own health and healthcare can only improve health and reduce costs.
Same for retirement. When I become Dictator Of Earth one of my first acts will be to outlaw pension plans. Pay employees cash up front. If they want to save for the future then that is great, if they don’t then I’ll build ugly barracks for them to retire for free, and cheap.

Seriously, though, I am in agreement with you to the full, but I would throw Social Security in there as well with your pension idea. I don’t need the government ‘managing’ my money, I can do that well enough myself.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 7:32pmI could not agree more – wish more people would just stop & think to consider this. Whenever I mention this to a lib and even many republicans, they have never even considered the idea. Many just do what they have always done, think what they have always been taught or indoctrinated to believe.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 9:40amI have Kaiser Permanente health insurance, so I’m quite used to the LONG lines and incompetent doctors. The best part is to watch elderly people come in and have no place to sit and wait to find a seat or to have to wait in line for 45 min to pick up there meds.( shame on all the people for not offering seats to these people) My sister is pregnant right now and also has Kaiser, she has not and will not see the same doctor her entire pregnancy. Kaiser loves to do phone appointments, they would much rather have a dr. Talk to you on the phone then have you come in. So my point to this is I already have an idea of what’s to come and it’s only gonna get worse.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 8:30amHere’s a novel idea on how to avoid Obamacare: Put down the fork and practice some self discipline.
Many in this country are supposedly “poor”, yet people have never been fatter. And, what’s always been the most indicator of wealth? Yes – obesity.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 2:19pmTell me….I am a 11 year cancer survivor. A cancer that I was told I would not survive over 6 months with. I shopped around and begged and was turned down by dr’s because they said the kind of cancer I had was uncurable and the surgery too risky. I finally found a dr that actually wanted to help, let me make the choice of whether I wanted to risk the surgery that might help. I had the surgery and treatment which now has enabled me to be one of the longest living with this cancer. This year alone, two of my medical team have quit practice because of obamacare. This they said out of thier own mouths to me. Without the doctors I will not survive. With doctors dropping out like flies, no amount of “putting a fork down” is going to do a rat’s tail of good. Obamacare is forcing doctors out of the field. You have just exhibited the true liberal attitude of Agenda 21 for a sustainable future. Look it up. I will not go quietly because you and those like you think you are better because you ‘put your fork down’ and see the world through obama-tinted glasses. Now, what would you say to someone like me that did everything right and still got a devastating illness? Would you tell me “Die so I can live”? Is your life more important than anyone elses? I think anyone reading your post will know the answer.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 2:11amUntil Ocare goes into effect there Already IS universal care… When you go to an ED you get treatment, whether you can or do pay or not.
Ocare does not protect docs from legal action, a major cause of medicine’s overuse today. The same docs being told they will have to pay more in taxes will see huge cuts in reimbursement– did you know ALL of the savings to begin with are supposed to come out of doctor’s pay…
Does your doctor deserve a pay cut? Will he keep practicing if he has to see twice as many patients for less money? Will the office be able to stay open? Will the care he provides be as good?
This bill had some good bits… That’s the teaser we’ve already seen… Next year, though…

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 9:16pmI already told my employer that I’d rather have a job than employer-provided healthcare! You see, he would have to DOUBLE my compensation to offer me the same healthcare as his other workers! He didn’t suggest that my job might not survive ‘the raise’, but I know enough about economics to understand that he could hire TWO youngsters for what he’d have to pay for ME and MY HEALTHCARE! So, I still have my job–AND AN HSA!!! (It costs ME 1/3 of what it would cost HIM for health insurance!!! Go figure! And, that includes the high-limit insurance, PLUS the $3,000 annual deductible! Still, 1/3 of what he’d have to pay to cover me under his healthcare!)

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 8:39pmBe prepared to deal with third world country doctors that barely speak English. This happened in Great Britain when the Doctors left came to this country and created a shortage. This shortage is filled with Pakistanis, Indians, Nigerians, South African doctors who come for the money and a better life, but can hardly speak english. They will have hard time talking to patients that speak english now they have to learn Ebonics.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 8:37pmI have been “immunized” for years now. HSAs are as close to having a cash system as you can get. When employers start seeing a benefit in hiring people that come “pre-immunized”, they will become a desired candidate for the job.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 9:46pmWhere will the Canadians now go to get treated?
My daughter in Maine has a good friend who personally knows a Canadian couple who’s wife was told they couldn’t do anything more to cure her cancer. The lady’s husband said..”that’s unacceptable.” He brought her to the US for treatment. She has been cancer-free for over 10 years now.
That’s what we have in store for us with Obamacare.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 8:31pmObviously if anything seriously happens to you, you’ll need a doctor. But people better learn how to take care of the every day little sht we run to the doctors for. I have given myself stitches, I have pulled a tooth. No I’m not some redneck, I was unemployed after 9/11 my industry was hit hard and I couldn’t find a job. I did what I had to do, raising a son by myself, I took care of myself. Until the last 50 or so years most people took care of themselves……now the pussification of America has us running to the doctor for a freaking tingle in your toe. Get self sufficient or things will get ugly for you.

Posted on November 14, 2012 at 9:28pmI was a medic in the Army (Vietnam era). We did stuff that todays’ sissified civilian medical system would blanch at. People can do a lot of self-treatment that they run to an emergency room for now. Loosing the suffocatingly assertive medical system that is overly dependent on CYA testing might not be such a bad idea. Get a book. Marry a nurse. Figure it out.

Posted on November 15, 2012 at 7:41amActually Super Glue was originally designed as a military field dressing to prevent wounded soldiers from bleeding to death before getting to the hospital. They had it in a spray bottle, spray it on then push the skin together. Why do you think it sticks skin together so good, it was designed to, that NuSkin stuff is more like a band aid for blisters and small cuts designed to protect it from infection when a band aid would be impractical.
If you want a good self help large amounts of yogurt(about 16 ounces) will cure food poisoning and act as an antibiotic(16oz 2x a day) strong enough to cure even the flu in a few days. Any flavor or brand will do as long as it has live yogurt cultures.
