CIA Talking Points Given to Susan Rice Called Benghazi Attack ‘Spontaneously Inspired’

The CIA talking points U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice parroted on national television following the deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi claim the demonstration was “spontaneously inspired by the protests at the US Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the US diplomatic post in Benghazi.”

CBS News was able to obtain a copy of the talking points on Thursday. Rice has been under fire from GOP lawmakers after she went on “Face the Nation” on Sept. 16, nearly a week after the attack, and said the attack in Benghazi was spontaneous and caused by an anti-Muslim YouTube video.

Read the CIA’s talking points provided to Rice:

The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the US Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the US diplomatic post in Benghazi and subsequently its annex. There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.

This assessment may change as additional information is collected and analyzed and as currently available information continues to be evaluated.

The investigation is on-going, and the US Government is working with Libyan authorities to bring to justice those responsible for the deaths of US citizens.”

President Barack Obama on Wednesday passionately defended Rice against Republicans’ attacks, saying she had nothing to do with Benghazi. That led syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer and other analysts to ask, if she had nothing to do with Benghazi, why did the White House send her out to talk about it?

What seems strange is that the CIA would come to such a conclusion when there were people on the ground at the CIA annex in Benghazi. It is now clear there were no protests outside the U.S. compound in Libya before the attack and the White House had access to live information as the attack unfolded. Also keep in mind, Rice’s comments came nearly a week after the attack, not immediately after.

TheBlaze also reported on Wednesday that Gen. David Petraeus, the former director of the CIA, clashed with agency chiefs over the CIA’s portrayal of the Benghazi attack in the days before his resignation, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Apparently, the MSM still has the President’s back on this one. If you were a journalist, wouldn’t you be a little upset to find out that the President sent out someone to talk to you about Benghazi who “had nothing to do with Benghazi”? Wouldn’t you feel a little disappointed to find out Susan Rice was nothing more than a diversion sent out to give the press what amounted to predigested white house talking points? If you were a “real” journalist interested in the facts you couldn’t help but feel disrespected by such a revelation. The question now is, are real journalists an endangered species?

I can only assume that someone is lying. I can further assume no one is going to do anything about it. I can assume my self right into believing that we are about to enter some real turbulent times. If our government will not protect their own how can I expect them to care about me? I can’t! Fact’s are such that one could assume that we are in the last days of normal life as we know it. Maybe even “The End Times” http://youtu.be/vgDkznPS4zI and maybe not. But one thing is abundantly clear. Life is about to change for a lot of people in the world!

  Everyone should take a look at Staten Island, N.Y., Long Island, and see how well FEMA and government is helping the citizens. 0-bama had a nice photo op on SI today, what a fraud he is.
  The local charities are doing a far better job of helping, then any government agency is doing. Be prepared, help your neighbor, because government help is 0 help!

There will be a name attached to the “CIA talking points” that was given to Rice, and it won’t be a career CIA staffer. It will be an Obama Administration hack that ORDERED some career underling to provide Rice with a CYA, false-narrative (i.e.- a LIE) to cover up the Obama Administration scandal re: Benghazi and Urkel’s massively FAILED foreign policy……

  He had a gun to his head, because they knew he was dipping his dip stick where it didn’t belong!
  Petraeus was used and now is abused publicly by this administration. His credibility is now questionable. Teenagers think with their dipsticks, and 60 year old generals should lay off the Viagra!

The only thing spontanous that came out of the Bengazi affair was the talking points from the White House. Not only was it spontanous, it ws instantanious. Most lies are !

OK what is the CIA hiding. Gun running ala Iran/Contra? Is David Petreous the new Oliver North. And who was the Turkish consul General that met with Ambassador Stevens immediately before the attack began on his temporary residence in Benghazi, why was that meeting held there instead of Tripoli etc etc etc.
When the media starts asking those questions out loud, in public during WH briefings then maybe puzzle pieces will be found and light will reveal the hidden agenda of Obama in arming Saudi backed rebels of Muslim Brotherhood since they are the dominant force in the Arab world now. Because they have funded like Soros has a majority of the Islamic Terrorism in the area through Iran/Saudi Arabia and other Arab constituencies.

  Here in the D.C. area early talk was just that… Anti-Ghadaffi rebels being supplied weaponry originating from U.S. and that the ambassador had met with the Turkish consul General. They were trying to get the weapons back when… WHACK!

  I don’t know if this is appropriate here, but ever since I told my husband that all those surface to air missiles (or MANPADS) were looted from military installations in Libya during the ouster of Gaddhafi, he asked, “Why on earth were they there in the first place?” This was a ground engagement, no? Why would they have even had them over there? And that’s what the Seals were doing over there, right? recover and destroy the MANPADS. I don’t see this talked about anywhere.

it is clear the CIA was doing something they shouldnt have been doing and got blowback. They have tried to cover their tracks the whole time – this is why the story has been fishy all along

What demonstrations in Benghazi? it was a straight up terrorist attack. The Libyan leader was telling us it was a terrorist attack that night,and the administration turned a deaf ear to what Libyan officials were saying,and advanced the video story before gathering all information.
