JERUSALEM (TheBlaze/AP) — Tel Aviv residents said they heard an explosion following an air-raid alert across the city, raising fears of a Gaza rocket strike on Israel’s commercial capital.
Israeli authorities were trying to determine where the rocket may have landed on Thursday. Eli Bean, the head of Israel’s rescue service, said no injuries have been reported.
Israeli military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yoav Mordechai said nothing landed on the ground, raising the possibility it fell in the sea.
“A few minutes ago, sirens in Tel Aviv sent residents running for shelter. We can confirm that no rockets struck in the area,” an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson tweeted.
Mordechai said residents of central Israel should prepare for a “not quiet” night.
Islamic jihadists claimed they shot a long-range “Fajr” missile from Gaza toward Tel Aviv, Israel’s army radio reported.
The army radio also reported Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Tel Aviv at the time, holding meetings in his office there.
A strike on Tel Aviv would be the first time Gaza rocket squads have reached the city and that would mark a significant escalation.
Israel has been threatening to widen a military offensive launched on Wednesday against Gaza Hamas militants.

The strength of the US must decline in order for the prophecies to be fulfilled, and we have certainly declined in power. These attacks against Israel could be the start of the first war to come as we draw near to the second coming of the Lord as described in Obadiah, Ezekiel, Isaiah. The PA will be driven from the nation of Israel, and surrounding nations who attack Israel will receive the wrath of the Lord.
My prayers are with the people of Israel in their constant guard against the evil that wants to destroy them. And anyone who is against Israel, is against the Lord. Curse Israel all you want; you and any nation against Israel will feel His wrath.

Disconcerting? Absolutely. Do many of the pieces appear to fit? Sure.
Maybe it is the beginning of the end, maybe it isn’t. A lot of events prior must have certainly looked that way, and the generations of those times must have started asking the same questions we are.
Only God knows for sure. Revelation is filled with many phrases to the effect of, “Do not fear, this must happen. The end is not yet.” (I’m paraphrasing, of course) The major and minor prophets have made many predictions that certainly appear to have come true, but there’s always an element of mystery to it. I, personally, get the sense that, when the times prophesied about come to pass, the right people will be alert and know. Nothing happens by accident and we are all born for the times we live in. Take comfort in that. I like to think of the big picture rather than focusing on each event. We live for an instant and the time table is vast.
I guess I’m meandering a bit. My point is, you might be right, wrong, or half right. I guess we’ll find out. Attacking Israel, with or without their military might (recalling Gideon, for instance), is a big mistake.
(Before the rest of you jump in and lambast me for remarks on Israel and religion in general, relax – I’m not out to make people angry. I’m just stating my opinion and I respect yours.)

Obama through his surrogates has said Israel has a right to defend herself but has not come out publicly himself and say as much. I wouldn’t believe his intentions were honorable anyway. He has proven that he is against Israel’s best interest.
America is no longer a relevant force in the world. We are laughed at and yes that had to happen.

I have said since 2008 that the key to where we stand in time is dependent on events in the ME. We are instructed to stay vigilant and look for signs in the heavens and on earth…wars and disasters are happening simultaneously and in a short period of time. All I can say is stay vigilant. I do not worry or get anxious for anything for I know who is in control of everything that is happening. All things work together for good according to His purpose.

Nov. 15, 2012 at 3:07pmI forgot to say that the other day we had a solar eclipse. My understanding is a solar eclipse is a warning of a judgment coming upon the world. And, Israel was attacked. Lunar eclipses are warnings of coming judgment upon enemies of Israel. The next solar eclipse is 9/13/2015. This date is Rosh Hashanah and the end of a Shmitah Year known as the 29th of Elul. Both market crashes in 2001 and 2008 happened on 29th of Elul.
I’m not saying or predicting anything except that the Lord gave us scriptures of how to read the signs in the heavens, and only the Lord knows what the next solar eclipse will bring.

Nov. 15, 2012 at 4:58pmI am watching the same events and interpreting the same way. I look for the next prophetic event to be the destruction of Damascus which is in Isaiah. That has to happen first. That is the last un-fullfilled prophecy before end times prophecies. The destruction of Damascus will make it uninhabitable which has never occurred (other parts of Syria and Northern Israel as well). By my calendar that will happen anytime before Feb 20 2013.

if this was the rest of new york city lobbing explosives into Long Island, the residents would not just sit back, trying to placate radicals… even in the debris of Sandy.
But the man re-elected won’t lift a finger to intercede… he wants the terrorists to be granted more recognition and be allowed funding to ‘create their own government’ sadly, the real peace loving Palestinians who could (AND DO) live in concern with Israelis will NEVER get a say, because the radical elements have too much invested in hate and war to ever stop the fight… it would mean relinquishing their power.

I’m not complaining. Never have been. Two people’s believe they have claim to a land. They either come to a mutual agreement or they fight it out. To the victor goes the spoils. If Hamas wins, they get it. I think their tactics are hopeless but hey, whatever. You want to fight for what you believe…so be it. Conversely, if Israel gets sick of the whole fiasco and wipes out every last one of the Palestinians then I really don’t have a problem with that either. The world is filled with 20K years of history of this happening. It will continue to happen.
