The U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel on Thursday told American citizens in the country it would be operating at “reduced staffing levels” and suspending routine services Friday following a barrage of Hamas-fired rockets from the Gaza Strip, including an explosion heard in Tel Aviv.

The U.S. Embassy issued the following “security message”:

The U.S. Embassy will be operating at reduced staffing levels on Friday, November 16, and routine consular services are being suspended for that same day.  Embassy families have been asked to not send their children to school on Friday, November 16.  Non-essential official travel by Embassy staff to the south of Israel remains prohibited.

U.S. citizens are encouraged to exercise caution and take appropriate measures to ensure their safety and security in light of the escalating level of violence in Gaza and Israel.  U.S. citizens should pay close attention to their surroundings and news reports, and follow the civil defense guidance provided by the Home Front Command.  The Government of Israel’s Home Front Command website provides information on how to choose a secure space or room in a home or apartment.  Visitors may also seek information on shelters from hotel staff or building managers.  Please click here for further emergency preparedness guidance provided by the Home Front Command.

    Totally ignorant. The congress of the United States voted many years ago to move their embassy to Jerusalem just happens the State Department did not agree with the order and is still sitting where they want to be. Our State Department is filled with globalists who feel Israel should not exist and that the United States should join the EU. The rats nest needs to be cleaned out just like the executive branch.

      “Hamas Promptly Calls For Revenge”.

      The word “Revenge” stuck out like a sore thumb! Isn’t that the same language Pres. Obama used in a rallying call against fellow Americans?

    Israel should NEVER have given back any of the land that they won as a result of the Arabs attacking them, Giving them Gaza only gave the Arabs a much better place to launch their rockets. Israel needs as much buffer space between them and the Palestinians as possible.

      Agreed. All the other nations want to puff up & say we are helping negotiate the peace. So they pressure Israel to give away land they have won possession of to the very people who want to kill them in order to “buy the peace”. I don’t see any other nations giving up land they acquired through hard fout battles to the Muslims. We even give a BILLION$$/yr to Egypt to “buy the peace”. And yet there is NO PEACE!! Israel should take that nice lakefront property back from gaza & clean out the slums! Let them all go back to Egypt where they belong. And as for Egypt, well we see how helping the mob rule of the Arab spring has turned out to be just giving arms & aid to the enemy of US! We have a lot of changes that need to be made, but until we can stop the voter fraud & stop the trough feeding leftist media we cannot hope to have our freedom back.

      Israel did not have the technologically highly advanced defense “shield” in 1948 when attacked the day after they were granted their nationhood. The smallest of the 5 attacking nations is 650 times larger than the sliver that is Israel. This is the equivalent of one man fighting for his life with one gun against a minimum of 3,250 men with machine guns. Israel was repeatedly attacked (6-day war of 1967, Yom Kippur war of 1973, 1982) and was victorious every time. What shield did Israel have in 1948, 1967, 1973, and 1982?

    let me see if I got this right….The US embassy in Benghazi got hit by an IED in April..then got destroyed on 9/11 resulting in 4 dead Americans..and Obama didn’t issue any emails then.
    Now in Tel Aviv he issues warnings? Seriously?
