Sen. Schumer Gloats That the Tea Party Is ‘On The Descent’ and That’s a ‘Good Thing’

At a breakfast put on by the Christian Science Monitor, Tuesday, New York Senator Chuck Schumer had some harsh comments for the Tea Party and their election showing in 2012.

Following a series of Tea Party favorite losses on election night, Schumer announced that the Tea Party had “peaked” and is “on the descent.” Β Schumer went through a list of Tea Party candidates that lost and then noted that even the many of the ones that won “ran away from the tea party platform.”

“So I think were going to see a lot of the Tea Party things — ‘Let’s repeal Obamacare’ — play much less prominence in these two years,” Schumer said, finally adding: “that’s a good thing, because they were pretty much for obstruction.”

Yes, and now Emperor Obama can truly fundamentally transform the nation…

Before, we had plenty to eat.
    Now we have none.
Before, we had plenty of heat.

Before, we had plenty of work.
    Now we have none.

Yes, obstruction of the destruction of the U.S. Why is this man still in office? Stupid question—the idiocy that voted in Obama votes this in too. The only joy in this is watching them melt down completely as it crashes, and it has already started. They blame ANYONE but the people in office, and usually point the finger at business owners and anyone conservative as if we have any political power in Washington. One has to wonder, when they get what they want, why do they still throw tantrums? Elections have consequences, and this one will show exactly what kind and soon.

For starters I don’t want a check I want a better government. That was the stupidest idea to send out those checks.
Your also living in a dream world. Bush added more debt then any prez in recent history. I think the last prez that spent so much was Reagan. If you did some fact checking you would see Obama has added the lease amount of debt since Eisenhower.

The tea party is done. Its been co-opted by the establishment GOP. The same GOP that pushed moderate Romney down republican’s throats, and in the wake of his defeat believe that the party needs to appeal to minorities and special social interests to win. Point in case: Rand Paul jumping on the immigration/amnesty bandwagon. The Tea Party was co-opted by the establishment GOP long before it turned into a national phenomenon. Dick Armey organized them and directed their message in order to use them to swing the 2010 election. As soon as the next big prize was the Presidency and a more moderate tone was needed to capture it, they were no longer useful, and they were abandoned to rely on their own rudimentary organizational abilities until they withered away.

My wife works in the medical profession. You’re not just whistling Dixie in your post, they are scrambling trying to find a way to cut costs enough to bear this burden and are coming up short. They’re a private practice group of Docs and specialists. Some are already saying they may well retire early now and move to Costa Rica (I know of 2 personally who are saying it and don’t follow it with a laugh or a “just kidding”).

I sense more of a ‘Little House on the Prairie’ — Doc Baker shift than an all-out ‘bail’ — and this goes for nearly all ‘professions’ which require application of KNOWLEDGE (one can train a monkey to push a button — he just can’t sign his name cuz he don’t got opposing thumbs) — Intellectual property (knowledge/training/education) is something they cannot ‘tax’ nor take away — Fundamentally change one’s MINDSET — after they knock down some buildings and rip up some roads, there’s PLENTY of forage :-) City folk that believes milk comes from a Wal-Mart supercenter will be most affected… Most anyone can learn to gig a frog or hook a fish – if they wanna EAT!:-)

Again what the hell country are you living in? When the economy is almost fully recovered in 2016 the GOP is going to be screwed. The dems will point to Clinton and Obama for what a great job, and the GOP will point to…. Mitch? Or Boehner?
Who do you think voted against, SS, Medicare, FDA, The woman’s rights movement, and the African american rights movement. Wasn’t the dems.

Garbage – Look at the company listings that I have been tracking. Can people survive that long? It will take 10 years after a real recovery for people to get back on track. People are hurting BAD NOW. They can’t wait four more years – Economically forecasting shows that at this pace we will not see a recovery that you speak of.
Today’s news – β€œTexas Instruments Cuts 1,700 Jobs, Winds Down Tablet Chips”
Since the election (and that’s just what is reported)
Total Released = 15,319 (Hate the word laid off)
      Company Closings = 41

Obama will get right in there and make the private sector make more jobs. Wait didn’t Mitt Romney say that wasn’t the role of government to create jobs. Except it is in some ways the role of the government. Anyone who has worked or dealt with the government know everything takes time. How do we help the people that need help now? The social safety nets you all seem to want to do away with.

Yesterday the Postal Service announce they will have a record breaking 14 billion dollar loss this year. They’ve been asking to cancel Saturday delivery. If the Government does this good with handling mail, think how great a job they will do with everyones healthcare. I guess when they run low on money they can just close the hospitals on the weekends. No big deal. It’s gonna be great!!!!

You do know that Chuck Schumer is Jewish, don’t you? He’s a Reform Jew which means his roots are Christian and he probably has little patience with sanctimonious piety and broadly painting things as “evil” just because you don’t like them. Chuck Schumer was giving his honest opinion after watching the TeaParty for the last three or four years. They have been obstructionist and they’ve undermined their own party. The voters tired of their antics and voted a fair number of them out of office.
