Israeli Military Confirms Rocket Strike Outside Jerusalem
The Israeli military confirmed Friday that a militant-fired rocket from Gaza struck outside Jerusalem, the first time the holy city has been targeted since 1970.
“Confirmed: A rocket fired from Gaza struck outside Jerusalem, Israel’s capital city,” an Israeli military spokesperson tweeted.
According to Haaretz, Hamas claimed they were targeting the Knesset, Israel’s government building.
At 50 miles away from the Gaza border, Jerusalem was thought to be beyond the range of Gaza rocket attacks, according to the Associated Press.
“We are sending a short and simple message: There is no security for any Zionist on any single inch of Palestine and we plan more surprises,” Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida told the AP.
Air raid sirens sounded throughout the capital and residents said they heard an explosion. The rocket reportedly landed in an open area just south of the city. No casualties were reported.

Posted on November 17, 2012 at 4:31pmZechariah 12:1-4
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Zechariah 14:12
And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
Please read Zechariah 12-14 to get the full context of this prophecy. In fact read all of Zechariah to get the setting of this entire process. So, for all those folks coming against Israel bring it on. All you will be doing is fulfilling this prophecy that indicates that the second coming of Christ is at hand – and you know what – that is not a bad thing.

It will not be long before this whole things is the fault of Israel. obama will blame them for not “negotiating” but jumping into an assault on the poor muslims….oh boo-hoo-hoo….. Israel sould send them all to see Allah….it is their wish is it not? The only way to stop someone that glorifies death rather than life is to give them what they want…… They are unfortunately in a no win situation, but at least they can show that they have the guts to fight….something obama lacks, especially against the muslims….

“But beware — should the Eagle [U.S.A.] not spread its wings and give protection, then the Anti-Christ shall reign upon the earth, and the time of famine shall be upon your doorsteps. We have prepared that, as we have said before, to give you warning before each of these that should happen. But the nation of Israel shall stand, and the nation of the eagle shall stand, for they stand before God.
And where once before the eagle nation [Rome] destroyed and scattered among the nations those of the servants of God, now the karmic action stands forth again. Therefore, place your minds in unisance.”

It is true that the US and Israel hold the key to the judgement but it involves way more than that. We have turned from a culture that reveres life to a culture that, like the muslims, reveres death. With abortion and assisted suicide being sanctioned by the government we have turned the hedge of protection away. Until we turn back to God ….”If my people would humble themselves and seek my face.”…….will we do that with this guy as president?…….I think he thinks of himself as some sort of god, and we are in big trouble….

That change cannot come from the outside,
it cannot come by force or by fear, or even by war,

it is hardwired into our conscience,
it is a personal choice….you must seek, keep, nurture and trust your own peace at all times..
We CAN change it. It starts with the heart.

It is time! Let God guide those rockets to the Dome of the Rock. Let those bricks fall down!
I suggest that the Muslims steer clear of their prayers in the holy places until this war ends. I have read today that Hamas is actually firing and keeping arms near their children’s playgrounds at their Mosques. These are the people that most of the UN Haters love to protect. Wow! I still contend that it was the fog of war. But JERK if it was not the fog of war, and Israel did purposely attack the USS Liberty, why then? Was the purpose, the goal? Why would they attack their largest national supporter who provided the greatest amount of funds and military equipment? Seems to me they would take the chance of getting cut off by not only the U.S. but many of America’s fellow allies around the world who were providing similar assistance then too? It just does not make sense to me, but I’m sure that you have some wild assed twisted CYA story.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 1:15pmjerk, you can’t even answer the question. Let me try again. Why would Israel punch it’s gift horse in the mouth? Is that simple enough for you?
There is another saying in the military that goes back a number of years. “Friendly fire ain’t friendly” What would you think after being shot at for a considerable time? Had I been in that CPT’s shoes, I would have been screaming the same thing as loud as I could while changing my underwear.
But, one more time, try and answer the question. And, don’t send me a bunch of Wiki links. I’ve read far more about that incident than you would like to think, as well as involved in classes on it. It is a form of military fratricide, which for the most part these are accidental cases of fratricide. When I was a combat doctrine writer we studied far more than the Liberty incident on the subject too.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 2:52pmJerk, You are right. In my haste to get ready for an appointment I did gloss over your actual answer. For that I do humbly apologize.
That was a question broached on one of the occasions that we studied the Liberty. The answer that I heard was why would the Israelis do that with such obvious Israeli markings? Then continue to hit the ship several times still with Israeli markings? Still does not make sense. The U.S. was already in a very unpopular war with massive demonstrations against in most major U.S. cities. Such was reported in worldwide press such as TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines. Tet was roughly six months. Although that would have had no immediate effect on our discussion, it might give you a better idea of the scope of occurances in that time frame. If you saw the 1967 War on TV then, you would have seen good old Dan Rather when he was pulled from Vietnam and dispatched to the Israeli conflict. Now, guess what he was saying when giving his own opinion of the war? This is another war that the U.S. does not need to be dragged into. The U.S. was warned and the world clearly heard it too. Similar sentiments came from other reporters and were also repeated by well known anchors like Walter Cronkite, and from the Huntley Brinkley Report. The U.S. citizenry’s sentiment to one war was well known to the point that nobody else should believe that they could drag us into another conflict. I wan’t in it so I paid attention to it daily.

How does attacking a US ship encourage them to join their side? Why would Israel try to draw America into a war that it won decisively with relatively few casualties? The Israeli victory in 1967 was so overwhelming that the Arab leaders actually tried to accuse the US of interfering just so it would be less embarrassing. Your argument lacks facts and the motive you’ve providing is unconvincing.
The question we all should be asking about the Liberty is the same one as with Benghazi: why were the US forces ordered to stand down and not interfere?

for Palestinians to have “land” #1 they already have more than Israel and #2 all anyone with a brain had to do was demand the return of that land. Palestinians have fabulous Ocean front property; could be amazing but they’d rather scurry around in the sand and kill each other and the Jews.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 12:58pmPATTY HENRY, you can try to revise history all that you want. Fact is, the Stern Gang and Irgun were classified as terrorist organizations. Fact is, they were no different from today’s Hamas, Hezbollah, and al Qaeda. And, for even more fact, the Haganah was not different than Yasser Arafat’s PLO.
You have Goebbels eyes.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:32amA few issues with the story here. Jerusalem was not targetted as it is not in range of the rockets and hosts many different religious groups. No rocket his Jerusalem. Also, the capital of Occupied Palestine (Israel, to some) is Tel Aviv.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:44amAccording to the U.N. and the international community, Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel. If Israel can ignore the U.N. on this issue, then the world can ignore the previous U.N. provision establishing the state of Israel. Consistency is the order of the day, not zealotry.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 12:01pmDAS_JERK, Imagine that, you think that it is up to the UN to declare their national capital. If the UN had been around in 1810, I suppose they would still declare that our capital be NYC. Makes about as much sense. But, since you hate Israel…..why not?

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 12:29pmComrade RJJinGadsden, no. I am stating that Israel and its sycophants here in America always point to U.N. Resolution 181(ll) as a validation of the Zionist state. I don’t care if you choose to ignore the U.N.. My point is, don’t pick and choose; it’s too Eric Holder-like.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:16amWar is coming and Obama flees to another land on his apology and kissing tushie tours while the Middle East he has armed and set on fire rages more and more out of control.
Iran is behind this mess, along with the bands supplied arms by Obama the traitor; there will be war soon enough and the world is blaming Israel for defending her own people. I can all too easily imagine Obama sending in American troops to crush Israel once and for all.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:32amThose are some wicked and hurtful comments you espoused against a man who was just reelected by the american people to be our president for the next four years. Lets just say, if the scenario you laid out were to take place how long will you gloat in saying; see, i told you so! Before the law of cause and effect takes hold and before you know it the cycle of killing and maiming and the destruction of property will continue… Will you continue to gloat??

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:37amWho cares if war is coming to the Middle East, as long as America does not get involved? We supply Israel with far more weapons and money than Iran could supply to any nation. So, stop with the double standard.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:45amObama is not “fleeing” anywhere.
His Southeast Asia tour was planned well in advance of the elections, the Benghazi hearings and the fiscal cliff negotiations.
Iran may be supplying Hamas with missiles, but parts of Israel’s missile-defense system were paid for by the US, that is, by American taxpayers, since Obama took office.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 6:02pm@ Jerk: The only outcome that is suitable for Hamas, Hezbollah & Iran et al, is the complete and utter destruction of Israel and Jews worldwide. How do you negotiate peace with that? So who cares if there’s war in the M.E? Western Civilization has too. You are next and the celebrate diversity crowd will be at the front of the line.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:00amLet’s see… our forces are not allowed to fire at or invade mosques even when taking fire…
but Hamas and their rodent brethren fire indiscriminate rockets at Jerusalem– cradle to much of their own religion as well as Christianity and Judaism– and there is no immediate hue and cry by the UN and this Administration about threatening world treasures?
No, that is not bias against Israel. Or against historic shrines… or against the innocent people living there and NOT launching rockets into Syria, Egypt, or ‘Palestine’
Fortunately, the very real presence of a threat to life and liberty has kept the Israeli people willing to stand up to their enemies, unlike here at home where we only want to be given things…

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:09amRight now, I would be ROFALMAO had the rocket landed on the “Dome of the Rock” Moslem temple on the temple mount itself.
Thie action by the Palestinians represents a major escalation of the situation. Jerusalem is a sacred city to both religions and indescriminate distruction by uncontrollable rockets can and will engender a more harsh response from Israel, and rightly so. The Palestinian towelheads had better tread lightly lest they really find out how P/Oed the Israelis can be.
My prayers are with Israel and her people. I am praying for GOD’s protection for them.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 12:56pmHamas has been firing indiscriminate rockets at Israel civilians for years (800 just this year) while Israel fires at military targets. Israel targeted Ahmed Jabari, the operational commander of Hamas’s armed wing and destroyed most potent rocket storage. The military estimated Hamas had 10,000 rockets and mortars before the operation began. Hamas’s response was to target an apartment building.
Just imagine Canada firing 800 indiscriminate rockets into US cities (killing men, woman, and children) and the UN telling us we cannot do anything about it because we have more military strength and capacity. That is insanity. Israel has the right to defend themselves. And they had the right to respond 799 rocket prior.
Just wait and see the media will paint the picture of Israel with its full military arm bullying poor Gaza. Hmmm……if you go over and punch the biggest guy on the play ground, you should expect the full extent of his strength. To tell Israel not to use the full extent of their military strength is also insanity. Besides they have been practicing restraint – Gaza is not glass yet.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:02amThe left views even Jews defending themselves as wrong. If the cavemen with rockets blow up their own sacred site, the Jews would still be blamed for the cavemen having to lob rockets that way in the first place. There is only one maniacal unhinged derangement more pronounced than the “Blame the Jews” mentality of leftists and bigots and that is the Blame Bush syndrome. Of course, if I was in charge of Israel, I would certainly send commandos in to seize a nearby rocket site, blow up the Dome of the Rock with a Hamas missile, then blow up the missile site with a counter battery fire.

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:20amYes! It would be a shame because it wont accomplish anything but to leave a pile of rubble and to continue the tit for tat violence that is so tragic to the loss of life on both sides of this equation. What should really take place is a supreme effort by all concerned parties to work towards the establishment of an atmosphere of peace among all religious groups who enjoyed amity among themselves prior to 1948!!

Posted on November 16, 2012 at 11:47amMaybe we could all hold hands and sing Kumbaya (a song originally from the 1930s). Maybe the Jews and the Palestinians can braid each other’s hair and they can swap tie dye t-shirts while they smoke some ghanjah. If those darned jews would just walk themselves into the sea, why we’d have peace the world over! .. alas, leftists will just have to go back to using ovens.
