A Missouri man has been charged after admitting to planning a mass shooting during a screening of the new “Twilight” film this weekend, authorities said.

Blaec Lammers, 20, of Bolivar, Mo. allegedly told local police that he purchased two assault rifles, 400 rounds of ammunition and a ticket to a Sunday showing of “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ with the intention of shooting people at the theater, the Springfield News-Leader reported. He told police he “had a lot in common with” recent shooters he’d seen on the news.

“Blaec Lammers stated that he had a lot in common with the people that have been involved in those shootings. Blaec Lammers state that he was quiet, kind of a loner, had recently purchased firearms and didn’t tell anybody about it, and had homicidal thoughts,” a statement from the Bolivar police department said, according to the Riverfront Times.

He was charged with attempted first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action, the News-Leader reported.

According to the statement, Lammers’ mother contacted authorities on Thursday after he purchased the weapons out of concern he might be planning something similar to the mass shooting in Aurora, Colo. during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in July.

A police officer approached Lammers at a local Sonic and convinced him to come to the station for an interview, according to the News-Leader. Lammers initially said he bought the weapons for hunting but later said he had planned to shoot people.

He told police, according to the statement, that after he “got to thinking about it” he decided to shoot people at a local Walmart so if he ran out of ammunition he could stock up again.

Lammers said he had planned to keep shooting until police arrived and would then turn himself in, the statement said.

This poor lad would have been bitterly disappointed when he got to the theater and was stopped by all thos “NO GUNS ALLOWED INSIDE” signs. Just no telling what he would have done then.

Oh yeah, he would probably have just hung his head, cursed under his breath, walked back to his car and drove to the police station to turn himself in! I always laugh when I see signs like that lol like that would ever stop a criminal intent to do harm, just stupid.

I’m a pastor in Bolivar, and this is all a sad situation. His mother made a heart-wrenching and life saving decision. I thank God that she made the call, and it’s easy for those not involved to quarterback the decision after the fact. At the end of the day she made the call to save lives. I’m grateful that this community was rescued from this tragedy, and we have his mom and our awesome police force to thank for that.

I go to Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, it all seams too surreal. I actually know of people who were planning on going to that Twilight showing but went to Springfield, MO instead. Thankful that this incident was thwarted.

Baptist University huh and people want to go to a vampire movie. Does the concept of satan being a counterfeiter of everything of the Almighty give you pause. Let me suggest. John 6 Yahushuah – Jesus Christ says that unless you eat his flesh and drink his Blood you have no life in you. So vampirism is a perversion of this sacred communion, can’t you see that? Vampires suck blood to live and they are the damned that never die. And don’t give me anything about how its just fantasy, where do you think the inspiration for such a thing came from? Not from Father God but from he who walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Here is a real easy thing to do ask yourself on everything you are going to read, to say or to do, everything you look at or listen to – does this bring glory to the Lord? If the answer is no then those that are His should not do it. Watching a counterfeit to the sacrament of communion does not bring Glory to Him.

People going to a Batman movie are innocent victims, but in the case of anyone who still wants to see another Twilight movie, it’s arguably a mercy killing.

…after a little research, the hit list may include Americans seen near known terrorists. Hope it is a lot more detailed than that.

A hero? No. Doing the right thing isn’t heroic. She should have gotten her son help long before this incident as surely the signs were there.

Doctors are PROHIBITED from institutionalizing patients who go off their meds. That takes a court order and it’s VERY difficult to do.

Hollywierd movies, liberal video games all depicting it’s ok & glamorous to shoot people.

BTW the new big game that came out the other day takes place in 2025 and has a carrier named the USS barack obama. When my kid told me that I about spit my coffee.

His statements were all about him. No consideration for his potential victims; rather, another twisted attention seeker wanting his 15 min. of fame at the expense and lives of others. Bolivar is a pretty small place and one has to wonder if he was going to carry this out in Springfield, MO.

Rick — then you read The Harbinger.

This is what happens when a nation divorces itself fm God and opts for a “do your own thing” worldview. We have exchanged goodness for wickedness and claimed it was a benefit to society.
