Israel Intercepts Gaza Rocket Aimed at Tel Aviv

TEL AVIV, Israel (TheBlaze/AP) — The Israeli military says its “Iron Dome” rocket-defense system shot down an incoming projectile bound for Tel Aviv on Saturday.

The Jerusalem Post reported two Iranian-made Fajr-5 missiles were intercepted. While police said one of the rockets landed in an open area, but a military source to the newspaper both were intercepted.

Footage from Associated Press Television News shows a plume of smoke emanating from an Iron Dome battery deployed in Tel Aviv followed by a flash of light overhead as the rocket is intercepted.

People huddled along Tel Aviv’s beachfront boardwalk cheered as the interception took place. Air raid sirens had sounded to warn residents to take cover.

It’s the third straight day that Gaza militants have fired rockets at Tel Aviv, Israel’s bustling commercial and cultural capital.

Israel says its Iron Dome system has intercepted nearly 250 rockets since a round of fighting broke out on Wednesday.

      RamonPreston, couple of things.

      If my brother had a personality disorder that led him into fight after fight, I’d seek help. After that, at some point, I must care for me and my family. He’d be on his own. Just ask any family that has dealt with an addicted family member.

      Second, the covenant was with the descendants of Abraham, not the descendants of Judea. As you know, many in Judea were not the descendants of Abraham. And, then there is the problem with the descendants of the converts of Khazaria, many/most of the European Jew. They are no more a descendant of Abraham than any Aborigine from Australia.

      So, even if you believe in the old ethnocentric Old Testament/Torah, you have some problems coming to terms with these facts.

      The White House, as reported anyway, has stated that Israel has the right to defend itself. However, that doesn’t mean that the U.S. (at least based on the Obama Administration’s record related to Israel over the past almost four years) will do anything to help Israel defend itself (which is a whole different matter), ally or not.

      Abraham may have had his covenant but the Israelites as a group accepted G-d’s laws upon themselves and their children at Sinai. When someone converts to Judaism, they are essentially accepting this same covenant. All converts are seen as being as Jewish as someone born Jewish.

      Second, based on what are you arguing that Judeans aren’t descended from Abraham? Judeans are from the Kingdom of Judea, which was originally founded by Israelites as the first Kingdom of Israel.

      Third, you have no evidence backing up your claim about most European Jews being of Khazar descent and not Israelite (not that ancestry matters as I have indicated above). For one, there was a Jewish presence in Europe long before Khazaria and, since Jews don’t distinguish between those born Jewish and those who converted, these Jews would have undoubtedly intermixed with the Khazar Jews to the point where, after centuries, it would be nigh impossible to find a Jew of purely Khazar ancestry. I myself am of European descent and both of my grandfathers trace their male lineage back to Levi, Jacob’s third son.

      Jetstream001, I’m with you on the conclusion, but factually there was no Israel after 722 B.C.. God had already had enough of Israel by then. The Romans had Judea, not Israel, and that was laid waste for the same. Judea had Christ killed, because he changed the narrative of the chosen people to all of God’s people.       Let’s see: Over 1000 missiles have been launched from Gaza into Israel over the past year.

      Despite the actions of Israel, the missiles keep being launched into Israel from Gaza. That tells me that Hamas (from Gaza) is not yet in a frame of mind to stop lobbing missiles into Israel. As a result, the death toll in Gaza will probably rise until Hamas (or connected organizations) stop lobbing missiles into Israel — it’s really that simple.

I can pretty well guarantee you that 0bama had nothing to do with it. But, we can wait and see if he does allow Israel to purchase replacement missiles or if he stands in the way. BTW, can you do some research then come back and tell the gang here how many of the weapons and defense packages that 0bama had anything to do with when it came to orchestrating those sales? Not to worry, I do already know the answer. While you are at it tell us how many of these defense packages 0bama sent for free. In the story of Samson, he killed thousands of philistines by bringing down the temple, not only on them by him too. He was killed in the process. They might possibly do something like this when they run out of weapons and the US will not supply them because of Obama. He will use the excuse “we are broke”. That will also make sure that we get some nuclear strikes over here. The united States is going to suffer great consequences for not repenting after 9/11 That was a wake up call. This country defied God and instead of repenting said “we will rebuild”

      That’s funny, I was just think that it would work out very well if one or two of those Iranian rockets landed on the Al Asquea Mosque…. problem solved!!!! It could happen, those rockets are just pointed in any direction, no guidance at all. Don’t think I spelled the name of the Mosque correctly.

BeBe…take the BAST@RDS down….not just the rockets but role the tanks into Gaza and root them out…tell the people they have 5 minutes to remove themselves for the area, schools, mosques that the rockets are coming from and then blow them all to hell….anyone with a gun gets shot…anyone running back to Egypt, gets shot….including their government idiots that went to meet with Hamas…..
    kill em all… Egypt is already backing them with guns and ammo and rockets…as is Iran and Syria… the war has started….forget this measured response crap…take them down and do it fast and hard and never apologize for the collateral damage…if they don’t like it…let them move back to Jordan, Syria, or Egypt…which is where the “palestinians” – a NON EXISTENT people – came from in the first place…
    some say they trace themselves back to the Philistines but that is amazing seeing as the Philistines came from Helenoistic tribes that sailed across the Med around 1000 BC…which means they are GREEKS…not Arabs…which if true, is why the other Arab nations expelled them as well…they aren’t ARABIC but ethnicity but Macedonians….

    Why is there no White House response to this? We all know Barry hates BeBe and the Jews. He is a closet muslim and refuses to stand for Israel. For another four years the muslims can attempt to destroy Israel as well as America.

    Our prayers are for the people in Israel and for the return of our Messiah to claim his own. His promises are forever – Barry and muslims are not.

      Using a Nuke is reckless and they won’t be used unless chemical weapons are used against Israel. Even with that Israel would start with a massive carpet bombing campaign disregarding any collateral damage. You never want to go down the “using a nuke” road. Trust me

      Are you serious? The funding for the Iron Dome began well before Obama. He just followed thru on what was begun before him. I bet he was pushed to follow thru as he was to capture Ben Laden. He wanted Ben Laden captured and tired in US courts. It took him another two weeks to agree that Ben Laden should be killed. Meanwhile our brave troops sat and waited for the final decision hoping no one “leaked” the info. Your ignorance is really showing

      Don’t overplay your hand. Iron dome was developed in 2005…Bush years. Furthermore, it is a multi-billion dollar weapons system of which the US contributed around 200M to upgrade the rockets.

      I think what your are portraying is a little beyond reality.
