Reports: Rockets Fired From Egypt Hit Israel After Egyptian PM’s Visit to Gaza

Rockets launched from Egypt reportedly hit Israel Friday night, potentially opening a new front in the back and forth assault between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.

“Terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula launched rockets into Israel Friday night,” the Jerusalem Post reported. “The rockets fell near an Israeli village on the southern border, causing some damage, but no injuries.”

According to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, “Rockets fired from direction of Egypt toward Eshkol Regional Council.”

The reports came the same day Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi sent his prime minister to Gaza in a show of solidarity.

Political forces within Egypt have called for Morsi to scrap the peace treaty with Israel. Morsi recalled Egypt’s ambassador to Israel on Wednesday to protest the strikes against Gaza.

An Israeli military spokesperson tweeted Saturday that 640 rockets from Gaza have been fired at Israel in the last three days.

Israel (an ally) was attacked by Hamas. Israel responded to attack to protect it’s nation. Egypt (an ally to US and has a treaty with Israel) attacks Israel even though Morsi had promised US it would keep up its end of the bargain in regards to Israel. How is firing rockets at Israel maintaining the treaty, or keeping your word to US? Egypt just gave the finger to both US and Israel. Why keep sending them money? Our interest in this was supposed to be peace in the Middle East. They are using the money given by the US mainly in weaponry and their own military personnel to fight Israel. How is this not easy for anyone to understand??

  Hamas is the political party formed in the Israeli ghetto of Gaza. Israel controls what goes into Gaza and what goes out of Gaza. Israel has a blockade of Gaza’s shores. Israel monitors Gaza. Gaza is a prison, a physical prison.

  If Hamas put even a little into infrastructure, jobs and planning in Gaza that it puts into rockets, terrorism etc, it wouldn’t be a slum now would it? The Palestinians are where they are because of the people they have elected and the indoctrination they have fallen prey to.   DeathRattle, when you are in a prison, you can not control your commerce. Nothing gets into Gaza without Israel’s approval, unless it is smuggled in. Nothing gets out of Gaza without Israel’s approval.
  
  Second, if Israel did not get hundreds of billions of dollars of our wealth, and more in military support, it too would be an agricultural kibbutz. They live off of our work. It’s easy to be the strongest nation in the Middle East when you’re living off of the world power’s credit card. And, when that world power interdicts on your behalf. Perhaps you missed my reference to the idea that Israel would be more diligent in finding how they were smuggled in. They are not something that would be hidden in a shopper’s handbag. You also seem to dismiss the fact that, if Israel has some serious smuggling enterprises in their past, they would have a very good idea of what to look for and maybe even how to catch them.

  Isrel has openedthe borders of gaza no less than 10 times over the last 45 years. They have given them countless millions to rebuild and form thier own government. They have offeredd total autonomy in every peace negotiation since 1967. In every case, gaza’s response has been to rain down rockets on isreal. If egypt, syria, lebanon, jordan,and saudi arabia, would take back the citizens theyt stranded there, this wouldn’t even be an issue. Those countries created this problem…not isreal.

  When Israel pulled out of Gaza, the IDF dragged Israelis of land they had paid for, out of homes they had built, and forced them to leave their businesses behind. Israel even gave the Palestinians a flower export company built by Israelis only to have Hamas burn it to the ground. As for prison ghettos, people in prison aren’t generally allowed to own TVs, grow their own food, go out at night, get married, drive cars, and they certainly aren’t allowed access to heavy weaponry. Palestinians do all these things and more. There are no curfews, IDF soldiers don’t patrol the streets, people aren’t given food rations on a daily basis, and they aren’t required to perform manual labor. Israel even lets Palestinians leave the territories WITHOUT ESCORTS to go to jobs on the other side and even lets them have access to Israeli hospitals as long as they pass Israeli security. Palestinians live far better than Jews lived in the ghettos.

  Sheep, The Iraqi people as a majority rejoiced at our presence. It was a very tiny minority of Iraqis and a large number of foreigners who were fighting in Iraq, though how would you know. You were sitting at home probably sucking down twinkies and mountain dew in your mothers basement reading your conspiracy theory websites, while better men than yourself freed a people they could have justifiably cared nothing for.
  
  Agree or disagree with the pretext for the war. The US military is still full of people, and I know guys who put their lives on the line and gave up their own possessions to the children in Iraq, by day.   Let’s all pray to God that someone such as the Egyptians will step up and stop the subjugation and slaughter of Palestinian women and children by these diabolical blood thirsty Jewish elements hell bent on dominating the globe…
  
  For humanity to survive this Jewish element must fail. Not only in Israel but primarily in America.
  
  I say it’s time to give the Jews a bit of their own medicine.. Let the bombs fall on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and let the Jews bury their women and children and see how much they enjoy it..

He called them “Atheistic Jews”… See you and many others simply don’t comprehend that being Jewish doesn’t mean you practice Judaism.. One can’t be both a Christian and an atheist but one can be a Jew and an atheist..
  
  Why Lord is this so hard for the average American to comprehend? I really don’t get the hang up.. It’s estimated that today 90% of the Jews in Palestine are atheistic Jews but Jews nonetheless.

  although I know there’s a connection I don’t know much about Rothbard.. I’m also aware that he was Jewish. I don’t question that there are many good conservative Jews out there or even some good conservative blacks. Unfortunately….
