Romney Adviser Blames ‘Far Right’ for Republican Failure With Hispanics

The GOP’s mutual recriminations have been pouring in since the day after the 2012 presidential election. But unlike the brief spats of 2008, which mostly converted to an argument that the GOP failed because it hadn’t really tried, this time the knives are really out, and for precisely the groups with the most incentive to argue against change – namely, immigration restrictionists and social conservatives.

Or, as Latino Romney adviser Carlos Gutierrez calls them, “the far right.” Appearing on “Face the Nation” with CNN’s Candy Crowley today, Gutierrez blamed an unspecified coalition of “far right” conservatives for dragging the GOP away from its roots, and for casting an otherwise noble party in a retrogressive role.

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,” Gutierrez said. “We are the party of prosperity, of growth, of tolerance. These immigrants who come across, and what they do wrong is they risk their lives and they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream. That is what the GOP is!”

In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Find out more HERE.

Yeah, and I blame Romney. It doesn’t matter, this Country is done, but either way the GOP will keep giving us Rinos, and idiots will keep picking them in the primaries. If there was ever an election again, I will never vote Republican ever again. I’ll vote Constitution party or some other true conservative party, and no Ron Paul is just a wack job!

Apparently the “far right” is anyone who expects “immigrants” (formerly known as illegal aliens) to respect the rule of law. Calling Romney a republican is a joke in the first place. The only problem the right has is how far left they have gone in the past 20 years.

I disagree with your Ron Paul comment, but i think you are on the right track….what you propose is bring the parties back where they should be. I believe a Ron Party (libertarian) party, and the another party (constitutional maybe) should be what a two party system should be…..both parties principles are constitutional based……I believe the libertarians would be the left side of the spectrum, and the constitutional party the right side…In this case i would have to change from right to left, but still a good foundation….I’d rather have multi party party system, but if we were stuck with a two party system, those are the two parties that should face off….

That’s what I would like to know! What is a far right Republican? After looking at the mess of the far left Dems I want to get as far right as I can get!! Do they mean a Conservative or maybe a true American patriot or a Constitutionalist or a historian or a Christian or maybe all of the above!! These people are not really Americans anymore, they are not thinkers of true values! They need a brain transplant because they have been brainwashed by progressives and some of the most corrupt people ever!

White liberal Democrat men were the original slave owners. White liberal Democrats were the ones who instituted the Jim Crow laws. The laundry list goes on and on……. Let’s be clear about the Mexicans……they are very conservative, very catholic, and very family oriented. Conservatism should automatically appeal to them. Why didn’t it? Because Baraka Claus showed up with amnesty and other free gifts. NOBODY can compete with Baraka Claus. Their vote was for free stuff. Check the exit polls.

The only solution for the Republican Party is to be more left than the Democrats. Republicans need to push for blanket amnesty for all illegal aliens. They need to encourage even MORE unskilled 3rd world immigrants to come to the US and live on the taxpayer’s dime. Let all prisoners out of prison too. They need to outdo Obama. Obama offers a free phone…..well Republicans need to offer free rent or a free car or even a free house! The Republicans need to offer money for votes. Tell the voters that Republicans will pay every person $15,000 to anyone that votes Republican. Out do the Democrats. Out spend the Democrats. Let it be a race between the Republicans and Democrats to see who can collapse and destroy this country first. Make it the goal of being $100 trillion in debt. Whichever party can get to $100 trillion in debt first wins. That’s what the Republicans need to do. Out Democrat the Democrats.

It’s pretty evident that the confusion in the ranks of what the GOP stands for is indicative that the Grand Old Party has lost its way and should just go away.

We are seeing the conflict between rational people and entrenched special interests in the GOP that don’t want to give-up their privileged positions of power. How do you blow an election in 2012 when you kicked **** and took names in 2010? Complete incompetence for starters!

Stick a fork in the GOP, they’re done. The left hates them and the Tea Party folks don’t trust them.

It’s people like JL320 who are part of the problem that cause the rational to suffer. They first cause the problem by expecting to find a candidate that will conform to their own very particular cookie cutter ideals. When they find no VIABLE candidate meets their specific ideals (and no one ever will) they vote for someone UNVIABLE that has no shot at all of at least removing the socialist, When it’s all over and their act of voting for the unviable candidate of their choice, who never had a shot in the first place, results in the inevitable, all they have to offer are these tantrums and insults. “Rhino, ******, A$$” are a few that come to mind. These types are the cause of the problem and then we get to hear their whining. Yes, these are the type of cool headed, rational people to whom I’m going to hitch my wagon. I don’t think so.

      @leavemebe,

Interesting that you say “extreme right religious fanatics trying to force old school laws from merry old England”. Maybe the “extreme right religious fanatics” are closer to the fascist-left. Maybe the fascit-left and “extreme right” are not on the opposite ends of a line, maybe they are next to each other on a circle.

My proposition is for real SMALL government, push marriage back into the churches and out of the hands of the state – let the church deal with this institution. This will take the breath out of the gay agenda to normalize their sin.

On pro-life/choice we just have a fundamental difference at the point of which life begins. The fundamental role of government is to protect Life, liberty and property. If life is defined and begins at conception, then it is the role of the federal government even to protect states from harming this life.

If your approach is that life begins at “viability” then would you agree that abortion should be abolished when medical technology is able to preserve life at conception? Consistency check…

If Obama ran as the Republican and Romney as the Democrat I guarantee you would have the same results. It actually could’ve happened – Herman Cain against Harry Reid. Conservatives would question Reid’s Mormon religion, leftists would question whether America “was ready for a black Republican.” It’s this dichotomous parody that people have been trained to have, even if there is literally no difference other than semantics.

I agree with you. Rand Paul would be the best candidate in 2016. However America is past the precipice – the handout, entitled, welfare, redistributive, tax-shift et al crowd has surpassed the entrepreneurs and business people of this country. Even some of America’s business people enjoy crony-capitalism.

There is no reverse to incremental socialism. Ezra Taft Benson was wrong and Khrushchev was right, we won’t accept communism outright, but eventually enough small doses of socialism will eventually lead to communism. Khrushchev said Ezra’s grandchildren would be ruled under communism. I can’t say that he was wrong, the bailouts were acts of quasi-communism.

My guess, but I bet we’ll next see that bimbo Andrea Saul coming out to condemn you, too. LOL! The grass-roots Republicans have some pertinent issues on their hands with this type of run-of-the-mill, status quo type. Because most people in the world believe that government should protect the people. That means guaranteed jobs with living wages or government support. free higher education for qualiied citizens, universal health care.Only right wingers cling to this calvinist, pull yourself up by your bootsraps, if you’re rich you must be good, hyper capitaism. The right wing is a dying breed in the world. Hence you lost as more immigrants come here expecting that governemet ‘s role is to provide for the citizens-not to give a green light to a few capitalists who exploit the people.

“These immigrants who come across, and what they do wrong is they risk their lives and they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream.’

Not a problem Carlos. But why should an inordinate amount of Latino’s cross the border mostly unfettered for god knows how long now?So much so that they’ve literally changed the racial make up of the USA in such a few short decades?
Why didn’t Congress abide by the immigration law enforcement deal that they and President Reagan made, when he granted amnesty in the 1980′s?

And why can’t Mexican citizens start standing up and changing THEIR country to emulate OURS,instead of coming here and changing our demographics on such a massive scale?

If the Republicans move past the bipartisan set of buzz words they agree to disagree on (they agree on nearly everything else), then there will cease to be a two party system (a party of anti-americans and a controlled opposition). We will just have one Democrat Party. It will be similar to what Reagan said about if the Soviet Union had another party, it would still be a one party state because everybody would switch over.

Why vote for the big government with Republicans who give lip service to nasty buzz words (abortion, amnesty, taxes, cultural marxism etc), when they can have big government from Democrats who don’t say nasty buzz words?

Why not use the real explanation of why Romney failed? How about this:
“Mitt Romney failed to gain the nomination because he was a fish who flip-flopped on every issue, had no political foundation at all, and could not drum up excitement in even the most drugged up crack head in the midst of a three day binge.”

No thanks for having to listen to that Democrat shill, Crowley, in that video as she led Mr. Gutierrez into his attack on the Republican Party. Of course 1.6 million legal immigrants per year is fine. Another 5 million people sneaking back and forth across the border is not fine. And. ~ if the good gentleman spokesman wants to denigrate the TEA Party he should at least have the guts to come out and say it; instead of harping on about some amorphous “far right of this party.”

This article tells everything about Mitt that we suspected and nothing about the right. He was Obama light. We miss nothing by not electing him. He created a surplus in Mass by milking the Fed Gov. He would have do nothing to change the system except solidify what already was in place by giving it republican blessings. That was his purpose all along. At least with Obama we know who the enemy is.

I dont know what they mean by “far right”…..

From my perspective, the far right is mostly Ron Paul supporters. Many in the Ron Paul camp believe we should return to the immigration policies of the past and not restrict legal immigration (people who come here to work). Doing that alone would eliminate nearly all illegal immigration. Why dont you moderates and liberals take on that position?

“far right” is anything that is opposed to progressivism and cultural marxism. O’Reilly is actually correct when he compulsively says “far left,” even though he is incidentally saying it like a democrat. Sorry, but Akin is not “far right.” So he took made one odd buzz word (abortion) statement and took a side. that does not make him for limited government. look at his other policies – FAR LEFT. But he is a Republican, so he automatically a right winger, thanks in large part to the beckbots.

The far right plays by the rules unlike those on the left. We do not like to comprimise our principals. We look at the law as something to follow not run away from. We like to be told the truth and not lied to. We are the patriots that look upon this nation as blessed by our creator. That the Constitution is the foundation of our Nation. God Bless America.

This new term of a perfect storm would be what I would call it…

Would he still have won? That will be debated for years to come.

Let’s get to today… and what we as citizens are and will be doing.
As an example, don’t just run for dog catcher, go for the school board.

that is rediculous… hispanics are more right than most conservatives…. the problem is that OBAMA WAS TARGETING HISPANIC DISTRICTS. he had people out talking door to door, early and would have people go to huff po and other sites to back up their lies… and they portrayed romney as someone who was going to get them to self deport… and romney never explained this idea…

romney should have taken a BUS TOUR thru some of the most hispanic districts in florida and oh and va and co…. and he should have been refuting obamas lies about romney, and sharing how free markets, and capitalism creat security and prosparity on spanish language networks, with romney in spanish…

the reason you lost is that you did not attack back… you thoought u could coast in on the coat tails of a bad economy…. AND YOU NEVER THOUGHT THE MEDIA WOULD JUST TELL EVERYONE IT WAS GETTING BETTER, and then obama says just stick with me a little longer..

you did not attack obama, and try to image him as a liar…. if obama and the media are going to lie and lie and lie….

you needed to pull out a pocket newt gingrich or rick santorum and make a public assult on the lies.. and you tried to play it off like you were already the president and did not want a fight, TO SHOW THAT YOU WOULD WORK TOGETHER… but the media, only showed OBAMAS ATTACKS ON YOU… that were mostly untrue… but funny and that is what people remember… bain and outsourcing…

      @Conservative AMERICA

I won’t bother wasting my time pointing out why your post is racist, because with the Cons recent love affair with the “I know you are, but what am I?” defense, in which by pointing out that someone has said or done something racist inherently makes the accuser a racist somehow, it would be pointless, but I thought I’d give you a little knowledge, (something you seem to lack). “Carlo”, or–as the rest of the world calls him–Carlos Gutierrez is Cuban, not Mexican. Here’s a little background, courtesy if Wikipedia “Carlos Miguel Gutierrez…is an American former CEO and former U.S. Cabinet Member who is currently a Vice Chairman of Citigroup’s Institutional Clients Group. He has previously served as the 35th U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 2005 to 2009. Gutierrez is a former Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Kellogg Company.”

He’s the perfect model of one of those “job creators” Cons are so fond of. Unfortunately his skin is brown, so of course those same Cons who otherwise would love him tell him to go back to Mexico, a country he doesn’t come from.

We dont respect those who “cut in line” in front of people who’ve been following the process legally. why do Latinos deserve preferrential treatment over everyone else? Why are we the only nation on earth persecuted for enforcing our immigration laws? They do not deserve a free pass over others who have traveled farther and come from their own hardships to fulfill the American dream, and did so lawfully.
