Ukranian Valeria Lukyanova was deemed to be a “real life Barbie” earlier this year after a number of her Facebook photos went viral on the Internet.

The Huffington Post related her statements after V Magazine flew her to New York City for a profile piece:

“It’s hard work, but they dismiss it as something done by surgeons or computer artists. [...] But I don’t take them seriously. I’m even flattered! It’s what success is like. I’m happy I seem unreal to them, it means I’m doing a good job.”

Not surprisingly, it is now being reported that “real life Barbie” may owe her fame to a combination of plastic surgery, Photo Shop, and unusually-applied make up.

TheDirty.com has re-posted a video of Lukyanova, where she looks far more human than in her photos.  As they note, while any amateur can use Photo Shop, videos are much harder to alter.

Calling her the “Michael Jackson of Ukraine,” TheDirty.com says:

All you people gushing over Valeria Lukyanova are a bunch of morons. This girl is a FRAUD. She had been badly photoshopping her photos since the beginning of her time online. Her videos aren’t photoshopped. Does she still look the same? Not only are her looks fake/photoshopped this girl is also mentally insane. There is a ton more of videos out there and as you can see from them, she looks nothing like she does when she photoshops her photos. Get over it already people.

Here’s the video, where Lukyanova complains about how her “fragile” neck can’t hold her “big” head, and that’s why she is talking with her head falling to one side:

Lukyanova, however, maintains that her photos are genuine.

“I am engaged in spiritual practices and meditation. I do not need meat, I eat only fruits…and my ultimate goal is to be powered only by solar energy,” Valeria claims, according to the International Business Times.
