The shelling between Israel and the Gaza strip is in its sixth day – and although all sides claim they are looking for a diplomatic solution – it seems clear as the death toll on each side mounts and civilian casualties rise, the international community is growing concerned about whether or not the conflict escalates further. This is arguably the first “post-arab spring” conflict in the region and it is testing old allegiances and new paradigms. Hamas, for example, may have came to the negotiating table much sooner. But now, with a rising Islamic-political presence in the region, Hamas could be seeking to exploit the changes in the region by listing demands of Israel. Israel used to be able to count on the Mubarak regime to put behind the scenes pressure on Hamas and Palestinian leaders to end violence. With Mohammed Morsi now in charge in Egypt, the scenario has changed.
Navigating through this all will be a test for President Obama, who during the campaign said he pledged 100 percent support of Israel.
The “Real News” panel Monday broke down the latest news in the current conflict, what this means for changing dynamics in the post-arab spring world, and what we have seen thus far and can expect from President Obama. Nov. 20, 2012 at 1:15pmi’m not sure what there is to study or analyze here. it’s quite simple. Everyone remember the last time there was a ground incursion? It was right after obama got elected. And now there will be another right after he is re-elected. This has nothing to do with Hamas or gaza or the peace process. This is their way of telling obama who is really in charge. And obama, like the rest of america will do as they are told when their master tells them to do it. it makes no difference who the US president is because he is not the one calling the shots.

Nov. 20, 2012 at 5:13amFinally I have the chance to largely agree with Mr Sexton. I think that his summation was on the money.
I think that S.E.Cupps point about the election effect should have been taken a bit further. It seems clear to me that Mr Romney’s strong support for Israel gave the MB pause, especially when it looked like he might win. The MB considers Mr Obama an ally of sorts, and given that they have visted the White House regularly, coupled with Mr Obama’s pro-Islamic statements, it is not hard to see why.
I think the MB considers the next four years their best opportunity to further their aims, and, in different ways, they have said so.
Nobody seems to be addressing the involvement of Saudi Arabia in all of this. Saudi money was regularly given to Jordan which has been facing financial difficulties. Recently, this assistance was stopped. Now the Muslim Brotherhood is exploiting the dissatisfaction of previously loyal Jordanians who are feeling the fiscal squeeze on a personal level. Jordan is an ally of, and has free trade agreements with, the USA. Toppling this country would be a coup for the MB.
This connection is no coincidence. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are big financial supporters of the MB. The House of Saud might make a show of friendship with the west, but often it is possible to trace much of the strife in the world back to their doorstep.
It would behoove the west to watch the Saudis very closely.

Nov. 20, 2012 at 1:08amI’m still in “shell-shock” mode that the Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer, Barack Obama, won another term.
It’s unbelievable to me, that he would be re-elected. For what? His incredibly high unemployment numbers? His support for crazy Islamics that kill Americans for not believing? His insane desire to raise taxes on those who would provide jobs? His crazed support for job killing Unions? There is also the enormous waste of USA dollars on his failed “green energy” policies.
It’s unbelievable that this nincompoop was re-elected! I have nothing but hate for Barack Obama, and I refuse to call him “President”. I only hope that I and America can survive another four years of this idiot!

Nov. 20, 2012 at 3:35amYou can thank the “chosen people” controlled Marxist Media for getting Obama reelected.
Anyway, I don’t see what could possibly go wrong. I mean we were all told by the “chosen people” controlled Marxist Media that this Arab Spring was a democratic revolution. We were all told they were enlightened little mini George Washingtons and Thomas Jeffersons running around. How could this have turned out like this? I mean, I never saw this coming. J/K
All you’re going to see now is an escalation in the Middle East. You have these Muslims “off da chain” in Egypt, Libya, Gaza, Syria, maybe Jordan and other places. Once they take control of their countries democratically, they won’t be stopped. Really the only way to stop these zealots is through annihilation. So if there was ever a time that Armageddon looked very possible, it’s now. Maybe it’s all meant to be, who knows.

Nov. 20, 2012 at 12:15amA prophecy, January 9, 1981: “Take stock into these things that are happening now around you. Violence begets violence. You wish to know the greatest danger, [it] comes from the Mid-East. Lybia, Pakistan, Palestine, the Palestinian movements, Iran, Iraq — all of these countries soon will be capable of delivering atomic weaponry. And their methods, as you have known before, have no — sacred for human life or other life. We say unto you, beware.”
January 13, 1984: “…each believing that when the war ends, that they may step in and make the world a better place to live in, according to themselves, would think nothing of taking the lives of millions. The first is those of the Palestinian, or “Black September” − and these are not of just of one people, but they are made up of the Arabian block; Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, are but some among the pact. You shall find them ten nations in all.”
February 19, 1971: “We have told you of the coming of the Anti-Christ and the Beast, and the beast from within. And even though thy should cut the Beast’s head, it shall heal its head from one of a greater.
And then shall come the time that the ten nations that stood beside it shall join together in slaying the Beast forever.” [See The Revelation, chapters 13-19.]

Nov. 20, 2012 at 12:13amMe too, Cavallo. I tend to not like those who insist that I bow to their belief or die. I’m a Roman Catholic who believes that Jesus Christ is part of the Trinity of God, and not a Prophet.
