Study: During Final Week of Campaign, MSNBC Provided Zero Negative Coverage of Obama & No Positive Coverage of Romney

A new study released by the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism (PEJ) found that the Obama-friendly “news” network MSNBC ran zero negative stories about President Barack Obama in the final week of the 2012 presidential campaign. Additionally, the network also failed to provide any positive coverage of Mitt Romney during the same time period.

The Pew study also found that MSNBC’s coverage of Romney was much more negative than the mainstream media in general. The network’s coverage of Romney was reportedly 68 percent negative with no positive stories in the sample.

What kind of treatment did Obama get? Well, according to the study, the president enjoyed positive stories 51 percent of the time with no negative stories whatsoever in the final week of the campaign. To put that into perspective, MSNBC’s reporting was 33 percent positive and 13 percent negative for Obama from Oct. 1 to 28 this year.

Fox News didn’t get off the hook for slanting their coverage in the last week of the presidential campaign either, though it wasn’t as pronounced as MSNBC. Per the PEJ report:

That week, when the media overall were more positive about Obama than negative, Fox News went a different direction and became more negative about him. From October 1 to 28, 4% of Obama’s stories were positive and 47% were negative (a difference of 43 points). In the final week, however, that tenor changed so that 5% of Obama’s stories were positive while 56% were negative-a difference of 51 points.

At the same time, when Romney was receiving negative coverage in the final week from the rest of the press, Fox was different; 42% of its segments about him were positive while only 11% were negative. This was more positive than the earlier part of October when 34% of Fox News’ Romney coverage was positive and 9% negative.

To answer the headline, how would most of us know what MSNBC reported; as most of us didn’t watch them nor do we usually. It’s a flat-liner network. When Obama leaves the airwaves, so will they.

The evening news…ABC, NBC. CBS, should be honor bound to report the TRUTH. Not the truth as they see fit. MSNBC, who can host a show by the Racist Al Sharpton, is in no way a biased news outlet. All that coverage for poor Trayvon Martin…I wonder if you look at Al Sharpton’s show if he has said one thing in sympathy to the victims of Benghazi. As a matter of fact, I am gonna go check it out and will let you know.

  No media outlet, unless publicly owned, is obligated to broadcast, televise or put into print, anything that they don’t want to. There is absolutely no obligation of the broadcast networks to be “fair & balanced” nor should there be. Historically the newspapers took partisan positions and the rhetoric was much worse during the 19th century. William Randolph Hearst help blow up the USS Maine explosion in Havana harbor to be some nefarious plot on the part of Spain when it was most likely an explosion in a coal bunker. (Clean coal…yeah right!) You don’t like what’s on broadcast news? Start your own network…

If you’re Christian, let’s not forget that Jesus fed everyone and in fact lived more like a communist than anyone. Imagine that. The solution to the media BS is to boycott cable TV until they start being truthful in their reporting. Why do you think FOX is so successful with the American public, but FOX will even slant it. Psyops and propaganda is at work and it is working very well as you can see from the past election.

  I disconnected cable TV about five years ago. Boycott: ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, FOX, CNN, AP and NY Times. Change Google Advanced Search to translate foreign languages. Remember any article that is remotely political will be biased and never believe anything you read on the internet (unless it comes from an eyewitness).
  
  Read the English and Arabic versions of Al Jazeera. The English version is sanitized for the western audience. The Arabic version has a venomous hatred for Israel and the West. The Jerusalem Post is a good source for the Israeli point of view.

Anyone researching Romney learned that the former Democrat governor of Mass that lost his re-election bid was no different than Obama. That’s why the voter turnout was so low. Libertarians wouldn’t vote for him. Half of the conservative TEA party wouldn’t vote for him. Obama promised free stuff to the social welfare kings and queens. Romney offered free stuff to the corporate welfare kings and queens. Do the math. If this election left your head spinning just wait and see what happens in 2014 if they try to BS us again.
