(UPDATED) Israeli Ambassador Says There Is No Ceasefire With Hamas

UPDATE II: Israeli Ambassador says there is no ceasefire (source: Fox News 3:40 p.m. ET).

UPDATE I: According to Blaze Israel correspondent Sharona Shwartz, the Israeli press has, as of 2:30 pm ET, quoted Egyptian press saying there will be no ceasefire press conference likely happening tonight (November 20).

———-

According to a report in Reuters early Tuesday afternoon, Hamas claimed it reached an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire agreement with Israel and that the truce would be declared in a matter of hours (at 2:00 pm ET) and go into effect at 5:oo pm ET.  Israel, however is denying it has agreed to a ceasefire and that talks are still underway.

Based on a statement made by a Hamas official, Reuters reported earlier:

Israel and Gaza militants have agreed to the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire, Hamas official Ayman Taha says. The Gaza truce will be declared at 1900 GMT and go into effect at 2200 GMT, the official said.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev told CNN, however, that a ceasefire deal has not been finalized and the “ball is still in play.”

“Until you’re there, you’re not there,” he said.

Shortly before Regev’s statement, a Hamas official said a deal had been reached during talks brokered by Egypt.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would be a “willing partner” in a ceasefire, but of course, that ceasefire would have to have safeguards in place ensuring that Israeli citizens do not come under fire by Hamas one or two weeks following a potential truce.

Netanyahu said that “if a long-term solution can be put in place by diplomatic means, Israel will be a willing partner.”

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is currently en route to the region to meet with leaders on both sides.

This is a breaking story. Updates will be added. The Associated press contributed to this report.

It seems that there’s a little dust kick-up in the Middle East. If it goes viral, many people will pay for it, some with their lives. And, perhaps, the rest of the world will pay for it, in the form of oil. Personally, I have no way of stopping/avoiding the possible onslaught, but I have a suggestion for Obama: Drill. If the US is totally independent of the International suppliers, it would cut down on their income from us, and OPEC will become an anagram for the Suppliers: COPE. With the money and jobs created (12 million says Romney), we can combat the upcoming unemployment and recession. Just a thought.

    What if –
The Muslim Brotherhood (who wants a Caliphate in the Middle East or worldwide) instructed Hamas to escalate rocketing Israel as a diversionary or stalling tactic until Iran can finish the nuclear weapons? What if all this was a sideshow to detract our attention and keep the U.S. or Israel from intervening in Iran?
Remember when the newly elected Egyptian President Morsi went immediately to Iran to meet the Iranian and regime and the Palestinian leader in Iran? What did they discuss? Israel objected to this unprecedented visit.
Then Morsi went to the U.N. to visit Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.
Don’t know if this relates, but Obama told the U.N. the 9-11 Benghazi attack was over a video. His U.N. Ambassador told us this next, as did the administration. This would support the Muslim Brotherhood’s propaganda war against insulting the prophet, to inhibit our freedom of speech and make a step toward U.N. Law ruling over the American Constitution.
Remember that Obama told the U.N. he supports dividing Jerusalem and returning Israel to its 1967 borders before Egypt attacked Israel and lost. U.S. Presidents since Jimmy Carter have urged Israel to give up land for peace that never came.
Last year the Obama administration, including the websites of the White House and of the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, stopped showing Jerusalem as in Israel, considering it an international city.
When will the Anti-Christ offer peace from Jerusalem?

I agree. Israel should take a few hours out of its day and kick their a&&, then turn to Iran and give them the same. Im sure glad Obama is sending big ships with lots of helpful firepower except they’re for evacuating US citizens. And on a side note to the Turkish PM: shut the hell up you rotten Muslim POS.
Sorry, just needed to be said.

A prophecy, November 27, 1973: ” Fear not, for those who should struggle in the name of the Lord and show of themselves their true faith, God should not desert of them.
Yet woe be this land [USA], and woe be those of other lands that should not protect God’s people in Israel. For we say unto you, protect now, or your war of Armageddon shall come upon the earth.”

Go ahead, make the agreement, but dont let down your guard for a second. Its comical, for every Israeli death there is like 100 Palastinian deaths. Despite any “agreement” It will continue until Palistine is a giant smoking hole. Its not far from that now.

Time to get Susan Rice warmed up to tell the American public a bunch of LIES. Hillary will have to give her the talking points on how she single handed negoiated the truce. Oh whoop she has not landed yet. but that sounds good. Obama was nowhere to be found like the monkey he sees nothing, hears nothing and knows nothing.

Thats garbage the reason this crap keeps happening is because Israel never finishes the job. If they would level Gaza City to rubble this ends and peace might have a chance. Since Hamas started this Israel should end it for good.

Same as Korean war, they talked truce but as many or more people died while they talked.
They just want some time so Iran can send in more missiles,Then they will go at it again.
Each time they fire a missile Israel should take one mile of there territory . And not return it.
Like the Golan Heights. Soon no more Gaza Strip.
We should stop giving money to the Palestinians,They have nothing to do so creating trouble
is like a job.If they were peaceful we would probably not send them aid.Create problems we send money so they will be nice .Does not work and never will. Appeasement sucks.
