  Jews haven’t been nomads. Being forced to relocate isn’t the same as being nomadic. Nomads often live in tents because they’re always on the move. Jews have historically been farmers, traders, and craftsmen. That’s why names like Goldberg, Goldstein, Silver, Glazman, etc. are so common. Jews have historically made up the middle class of many societies. Even in the US this has been true, with a Jew named Levi Strauss being the inventor of blue jeans and another named Irving Berlin being the composer of “God Bless America”. It was a Jew who invented the department store as well.
