College Marching Band Spells Out ‘O-B-A-M-A’ on the Field During Bayou Classic Football Game
Each year, the Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars get together to compete in the State Farm Bayou Classic. On Saturday, the 39th annual football game unfolded, with Southern winning 38-33. While the game likely excited a great many, it was the halftime show that distinguished itself as particularly memorable. The victorious school’s marching band coordinated themselves to spell out “Obama” on the field — an action that was noted by both supporters and critics of the president, alike.
As the band delivered its performance, the tribute to the president, which was viewable from the stands, was perfectly orchestrated. On the Southern University Marching Band’s Facebook page, some who were in attendance made their penchant for the Obama inclusion known.

“I loved your show today during halftime. O-B-A-M-A was especially nice,” one woman wrote.
“The halftime show — Obama — that was awesome. I salute you,” added another.
On Twitter, one person (@RedAndRight) quipped: “SU halftime show at Bayou Classic in NO. No word on if they spelled out Bush’s Fault.”

Watch the halftime show, below:
And here’s more:
These accolades are nothing new, though. In 2008, following Obama’s first presidential victory, the band offered a similar performance, also spelling out the president’s name.

Posted on November 26, 2012 at 8:44amThe lemmings in college cheer for their own demise and they don’t even realize it,we have a fraud president presiding over the worst economy since our first depression and these idiots pay tribute to the most ant-American president in the history of the United States, amazing. If you were to ask the budding Marxist’s at that college or any college for that matter if they would like to see the POS rule us for life I would venture to say that most would gleefully accept a dictator. They haven’t been taught true American history, they’ve been taught the revisionist form of US history by progressives, that’s why they would accept and beg for a dictator.

Posted on November 26, 2012 at 9:09amWe are screwed. There is no turning back at this point, liken this to the Apollo 13 moon shot. You can’t turn around, certain failure. The only option is to slingshoot around the moon and keep earth in the window.
Our only hope is to let this happen, continue to fail, once we hit bottom, reorganize and try again. Resistance at this point is futile, the resistance will be crushed. Load up on metals……lead, silver and gold.

Posted on November 26, 2012 at 11:39amLets speak the truth, here. These aren’t just some dumb college kids. For one thing, a band director – an adult – had to OK this presentation. Another truth is this – these are predominately black schools. Blacks voted for Obama at a rate of 93% or higher. This is a race issue, not ideology. This presentation at half-time was a racist presentation. It was a celebration of a black triumph over whites, no more.. no less. Remember, if you are black its OK to be a racist.

I’ve never heard a conservative day they college is for snobs.
If the Left really wanted to make it more affordable to go to college, they would stop subsidizing the cost; this only raises the price of tuition, putting it out of reach for the average American. This in turn for es them to look to the government for help.
The more you depend on the government (or anybody) the less free you are.

So according to your logic, the U.K. backlash against the EU would also be based on ignorance & an inability to know when to shut up? With the U.K. allegedly not wanting to defer to the EU, those “ultra right wing/tea party/creationist nut jobs etc.” are worthy of nothing but laughing contempt, yes?
As a matter of full disclosure, I’m not a partisan & find some of the Tea Party’s message inconsistent. However, your routine (the enlightened, dismissive prog fluffing up what amounts to an ad hominem attack) isn’t exactly novel. I’d say (based on my experience) that’s pretty darn predictable.
I’d say (as a libertarian) the one thing that doesn’t set well with many Americans is the idolizing of a political figure. Europe has a history of showing why a collective is not wise in embracing any one man as THE ANSWER.
Do I see this display as dangerous? Nah… foolish, but, for now, Obama has his four more years & then it will be some other schmuck. That’ll make it easier to know who to credit for any perceived boons… & who to blame for foul ups while the Big O as at the helm.
I’m just wondering: Does your self-professed enlightenment negate all others who do not believe as you? See, that’s when and where you and your ilk become predictable. It also indicates a level of intolernace that is fueled by nothing more than your belief in your own greatness.
Your argument amounts to you’re better because you say you are. Proof is lacking.

”Wise man/women seek out the truth, but fools go over the cliff with the ignorant.”
Exactly and that’s precisely why the wiser, more moderate Republican’s are all of a sudden distancing themselves from the ultra hardcore conservatives, to avoid going over the cliff with tea party dolts such as Joe Walsh, Michele Bachmann and Allen West and others.

Every citizen should have the right to the sense of security offered by government health care, without the anguish of eg. not being able to afford treatment for a child with cancer, or knowing you’re not going to be forced into bankruptcy because you can’t afford medical bills. Every developed country has some form of government-subsidized healthcare EXCEPT the United States of America. And that’s embarrassing. I don’t see how you can see that as an infringement on your freedoms, I see that as a basic human right and key part of a civilized society.
If expanding federal government means being able to manage investments in science and development, education, affordable healthcare for all (including the poor), updated infrastructure (benefiting individuals, big and small business etc), fighting man caused global warming, upkeep of National parks, preserving our National heritage, promoting culture and cultural diversity and facilitating integration, well then, H*ll yes I’m for it.
And you personally won’t notice any difference at all with regard to your ”liberty”. Nobody’s taking your guns, no one’s forcing you to stop believing in whatever God you believe in, and you can keep doing what you do, as long as it doesn’t hurt anybody. You seem to be advocating for no federal government at all, in which case we would revert to some sort of Wild West scenario with the rest of the world whizzing past leaving us coughing in the dust an

In a nutshell: for the reasons previously mentioned, I am convinced health care and the expanding federal government will improve both the quality of life for everyone as well as our means to develop as individuals and as a nation, and thereby also lead to the feeling of liberated and free. Free to concentrate on important issues besides pure survival.
I’d prefer that than being supposedly “free” in a backward country with no empathy.

Great. I’m so looking forward to the next couple of decades. Maybe I’ll move to Moscow.

Posted on November 26, 2012 at 8:44amI saw that too and sent it to everyone I know. How ironic that Amerika has to get the truth from soviet media! The Russian Times will also give you the truth of what is really happening here in Amerika.

Posted on November 26, 2012 at 8:17amDid they salute Bush? Clinton? If so, this is not a big deal. And BTW, Blaze, get an editor: “While the game likely exited a great many” I am pretty sure you meant “excited”

Now for the other side… Since SEP2012, Grambling has been begging their alums for monies due to an increased budget and reduction in the state appropriation from $31.6M down to $16.5M.
Letter to Donors : http://www.gram.edu/offices/administration/president/091712_donorletter.php
“Dear Gramblinite: I am sure that you are aware of the many changes that are currently occurring with regard to financing higher education in the State of Louisiana. Over the past three years, the university’s state appropriation has been drastically reduced from $31.6 million to $16.5 million. In essence, the university is operating on an annual budget that is lower than the operational budget ten years ago. These budget cuts come at a time when the State of Louisiana has mandated annual increases in college admission standards for high school graduates, annual increases in tuition, new state mandated performance measures focused on student retention and graduation rates, and an overall economy that has led to excessive unemployment.”

Posted on November 26, 2012 at 9:57pmUnfortunately they will likely become govt employees. Like city deciding how much your water bill should be, or state deciding how much your cell phone bill should be increased to pay for free Obama phones, or how much your electric bill should increased to pay for free Obama utilities, & on & on the hidden welfare costs are enormous! & govt employees approve that you should pay! How does that feel?
