Hannity Panel Clashes Over Jamie Foxx Calling Obama ‘Our Lord and Savior’

During Monday night’s “Hannity” on Fox News Channel, host Sean Hannity and his panel discussed the implications of Jamie Foxx’s remarks at the Soul Train Awards in which he called President Barack Obama “our lord and savior.”

Hannity said the comment is a “reminder of how obsessed left-wing celebrities really are with President Obama.”

Comedian Paul Mercurio provided a soft defense of Foxx’s comments, saying “I understand how African-Americans and Jamie Foxx could be very proud.”

“They’re proud of their heritage and they’re proud Obama is in the White House, and good for them,” he added. “Yes, it’s over the top…He’s not our savior. And the tip-off is, you don’t need Obamacare if you have the ability to cure lepers with a mere touch. If he’s the savior he should be able to do that.”

“I think he thinks he’s Jesus because like Jesus Obama gave gifts to the poor to curry favor,” Mercurio joked.

Radio host Mary Walter went further on a limb and provided her take, which she admitted may be a little “conspiracy theorist.”

“I’m seeing something that I’m sure Paul won’t see, but it’s part of this whole thing of: the intellectually superior don’t need the crutch of religion. You know, those of us who are clinging to our guns and religion — we’re somehow less evolved,” she said. “It’s about a societal religion as opposed to a church religion, because if the government gives you everything, the government becomes your religion, and he’s our leader.”

Alleging bias in the mainstream media, Hannity said many of Obama’s divisive comments are ignored while Mitt Romney’s infamous “47 percent” remarks were blown out of proportion.

  Jamie Foxx, finally came out of the black closet, like most celebrity blacks did, when Obama became President. Up to that time, they were the All American black entertainer, who loved America, and all it had to offer the blacks. Now, with our Racist in chief, they have all banded together, to blame America for all the worlds problems. They should remember, that in four years, their Savior will be history, and the white America will roar back.   It seems that you really work on getting that racial slur thing into every post you write. But I know why, and its Ok, I realize you can’t relate on any other level. But let me say that everybody has that one certain thing they do better than anyone. We all specialize, to some extent. Like me, being white and educated, I spend most of my time sabotaging poor people who need things. I flatten bicycle tires outside the food bank. I look for panhandlers, and when I find some I call 911 on ‘em. I personally have superglued coins to the pavement at the drive through at the McDonalds, across the street from the employment office. But I leave black folks alone, for the most part. I find that they do way nastier things to each other than I can even dream about….I’ve even learned a few things, just watching them.

I refuse to play the game….just about done with all of it, if you want to know. These people are on the edge of losing everything, and they want take everyone down with them.

  There were many black Americans who would have made a better president than the one that the blacks got….they just have not realized it as yet. Obama has divided us according to color and status, and is the most racist person I have seen. Jamie Foxx is just another fool drooling over the position of power the black man in the White House has…one that uses his skin pigmentation as a shield, because if a white woman or man had done the things this liar in chief has done, they would already have been impeached and removed from office. Obama is not our saviour, he is the antichrist and bad for those who are fooled by him. Hollywood is so sinful that they have to created their own religions because they either won’t or can’t live within the laws that God has set down for his children.   First, the OP is right, intellect has nothing to do with religion. I’ve been confronted with so many miracles in my life, I am left with no other conclusion that there is Intelligent Design. I choose to call Him God. Obama is not Him. Second, Obama has done NOTHING to save the blacks in ANY community. Black unemployment is something like 14%. As soon as he’s in he will screw the black, the poor and everyone but his cronies. He’s in it for himself. He believed Malcomb X, who said that the black community decided elections. That’s because they have never had to choose between a white candidate and a black one. They don’t care about any politics (at least most of them, I do know some conservative blacks personally) but what government can give them. And that’s where Obama got some of the white votes, too, the takers of all colors.

  Anyone can be someone’s god..and Obama may fit that bill more than you know..With the Crucifix artwork showing up..with him spread eagle with a crown of thorns on his head..and people calling him lord and saviour..I heard a commentary yesterday that the one to come would have the oratory skills of John F Kennedy and be as convincing as Stalin or some Commy..and have as an intense vision as Karl Marx. with super intellegence..and he would seem so nice..but was not…and he would be wanted..an answer to peoples prayers..In other commentary I have heard he would be known as a “man of peace”..which Obama is..   Over the week end at a local pub a young black girl sent me a drink via the bar tender stating it was from the young lady at the end of the bar. I sent it back with a message of send it to Obama……
  I have never ever been racist but I now veiw most blacks as a central cause for the decline in my freedom and a rise in tyranny. I have black conservative friends who say the support by the black community of Obama is a bigger decline in the public perception of their race than the crimes that accure daily at the hand of blacks……They’re ashamed of their main stream community image.

  I don’t watch movies with the most of the current big name black actors in them……They are a plague on a free society in their support of Big Government Barrak Hussein……Pretty much just gave up on Hollywood as a whole saved a lot of money and time to spend with my family to hunt,fish,hike,bicycle,and build projects.   Some People I speak to tell me things like: “I’m sure people who lived during the Civil War, or WWI, or WWII, or the Crusades, or (fill in the blank) thought the world was ending then, too.”
  
  Maybe so, but things sure seem to have picked up speed.
  
  It’s as if the people who don’t believe in the Bible are doing the things prophesied to prove to us we are wrong, all the while they are participating in the prophecies! It’s kind of like Satan trying to disrupt the plan of God by trying to keep us from obeying the commandments, thus supplying the opposition necessary for the test and enabling God’s plan to happen.

It is a great Bible Brother Ed..I hope you pick one up..in the back of it there are the theological views..with scripture to back it up..I don’t get all of my answers there..but I keep searching until I find them..   Intellect and religion are indeed linked. Lions and bears don’t really care about Gods, Sabbath Days, Saviors, or any of that. There is a clear distiction between intellect capable of understanding the full breadth of existance, and just existance. Do not dispute your intellectual capacity.
  
  Also, please do not fall into the trap of thinking a person’s worth has anything to do with the color of their skin, their historical culture, what plumbing they have, what plumbing they desire, what religion they are or aren’t, etc. All of those methods of judgement have been proven to be seriously flawed, I mean seriously, fatally, flawed. Please, you know what is right, you know what is wrong, do not justify wrong thinking… ever. A person’s value is determined by what they do. Judge on action, not words or anything else.
  
  If you really want to convert the Jaime Foxx’s of the world, YOU need to be the example of how to think, how to live, how to behave towards others. Calling people names, labelling them based on pre-conceptions without any proof, standing on the “I’m right, you’re wrong” soapbox too much gets us futher down this road we don’t want to be on. Unchain the brain God gave you, find your way back to the right road that is Love, Honor, Charity, Faith and unflenching desire for Truth.   SILVERTRUTH…..at some point, you gotta realize that “saving” a deluded heathen from the eternal condemnation, is in some instances not feasible. St. Paul actually advised that it may be necessary for the wayward to die to escape the devil’s temptation. If the saved are the body of Christ the deluded are the body of evil, in the end times….There comes a point when discernment is the deciding factor in evangelical judgement. The love of truth has got to be there or the evangelist is wasting time that could be put to better use. If the soul is ready, the path will find the seeker.   I totally agree. I didn’t think of race until 4 years ago. I have a neighbor who has become a really good friend. he’s a widower, black, and former Navy man. He had his brother sing me a welcome to the neighborhood song 3 years ago when I got here. Really nice man. As a matter of fact, I have a handicapped adult son who is capable to staying alone for several hours. I’ve told him if anything happens (break in, toilet breaks, whatever) to run to his house and get him. I asked him the other day if he thought I was racist. He laughed and asked why I would even think that. Obama has me questioning everything I say.

  Obama attained the presidency on lies and falsehoods of which the black community swallowed whole and didn’t care to look at his character. He was voted in with enthusiasm because of the color of his skin and because he promised the world, but then failed to produce and was voted in again for what reason? Because he is black.
