Christmas is fast approaching and the “war on Christmas” is just getting started, with atheist groups and other secular organizations pushing to ban nativity scenes and make sure the only decorated trees in government buildings are “holiday trees.”
To that effect, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly invited American Atheists President David Silverman onto his program on Wednesday to debate the issue. Though the conversation started pleasant enough, it quickly devolved into a contentious war of words. For example, O’Reilly accused Silverman and his “merry band of fascists” of trying to destroy Christmas.
“You’re an atheist, you’re a non-believer and I respect that. That’s fine. I don’t look down on you. I don’t think you’re a pinhead,” O’Reilly began. “But why you messing around with my tradition? Why are you messing around with Christmas? Just leave it alone. Is there a compelling reason for you to mess around with it?”
Silverman assured the host that they are not “messing around” with anything, rather they are making sure the government does not prefer “one religion over another.”
O’Reilly went on to argue that Christianity is not a religion, it is a “philosophy.”
“Mr. Silverman, it is a fact that Christianity is not a religion. It is a philosophy,” O’Reilly said. “If the government said the Methodist religion deserves a special place in the public square, I would be on your side.”
“So you’re actually going to tell me on live television that Christianity is not a religion,” Silverman replied.
“Correct,” said O’Reilly. “Roman Catholicism is a religion, Judaism is a religion.”
Silverman strongly disagreed, saying all of those are “sects” of Christianity. He also told O’Reilly it was “really not cool” for him to “cloud the issue.”
As tense as things had already gotten, it got even more uncomfortable in hurry after Silverman told O’Reilly that he would have a problem with him putting a “Happy Winter Solstice” sign on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office door after he said he wouldn’t.
“Don’t tell me what I think! When I said I didn’t have a problem, I didn’t have a problem. Got it?” O’Reilly scolded, putting his finger in his guests face.
Watch the tense segment via FoxNews/Mediaite below:
The pair also disagreed on whether the Christmas tree was a “secular symbol.” O’Reilly argued that it is, while the American Atheists president said the “Christ” in “Christmas” makes it a religious symbol.
“You are so unreasonable, it is frightening,” O’Reilly shot back.
“It’s a federal holiday. Why don’t you get off your but and get it revoked and see how far that you go,” he added. “Your view is insane.”
It was towards the end of the segment that O’Reilly called Silverman a “fascist.” Of course, like with everything else between the two, Silverman disagreed. “I am a patriot,” he said.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 11:34pmSpeaking as an atheist, I don’t have a leader speaking for me. The fact that atheists even band together under a symbol, person, or entity is completely ass-backwards and ridiculous to me. Furthermore, if you look around and you think for a second that Christmas is a Christian holiday any longer, than you are delusional. On the average, if you ask a child what Christmas is about, the birth of Jesus Christ is not the #1 answer. It’s about reindeer, presents, and the fat guy that brings them to you.

In other words we are being spoon fed BS and rather than stand up for our belief we let each attempt go by with any attempt to respond. An atheist is not suppose to believe in anything so why should what others believe bother them? Because they do believe in something and do not like others to have an opinion except theirs. But when they try to take away our rights we need to stand up. Separation of Church and Stare has been twisted to please fools who use the lack of understanding a law as the weapon of choice.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 10:41amI’m so sick of atheists. We get it already, you people are malcontents who want everybody else to be as miserable as yourselves. Why don’t you guys start your own special little unholiday for this time of year and call it Miserymas? You can celebrate it by sitting alone in your basements hurling insults at strangers on the Internet while you stew in thoughts of how life has cheated you… oh wait, that’s what you people do every day of the year, so I guess there wouldn’t be anything special about it.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 11:03amO’Reilly is correct the tree is a secular symbol. It is not part of the rituals or canon of Christianity. Furthermore O’Reilly nailed it when he told the atheist to take it to court to remove Christmas as a national holiday. The atheist cur said they don’t have the votes..and there lies the crux of their whole strategy..erode and devalue Christianity everywhere possible to create a society that “doesn’t see” Christianity in society..then try to get the votes.
The atheist cur also tried to insinuate that he’s “forced” to take the day off on Christmas day….apparently he must complain and beg his boss each year to let him work that day and each year he’s denied..the poor soul..sorry…wretch..he doesn’t have a soul right?

Nov. 29, 2012 at 11:14amAccording to a 2012 Rasmussen poll, 68% of Americans prefer stores that celebrate Christmas with “Merry Christmas” signs to stores that use generic signs like “Happy Holidays.” That being the case, I would imagine most people know exactly what CHRISTmas is about.
If someone had told me 15 years ago that America would reach a point where people were offended by being wished “Merry Christmas” I would have said they were insane. How miserable do you have to be to snarl at someone for wishing you “Merry Christmas”? Seriously… when a person has become so miserable that he flies into a rage when people wish him well, at what point does he finally realize that his notions about the meaning of life are so far off base that they are destroying him?

Nov. 29, 2012 at 11:16amThe reason Christian’s claim that atheists are “at war with religion” is because of the seemingly constant attacks on main-stream religions, while not holding other spiritual beliefs to the same account. While they press law-suits on crosses at ground-zero, streets being named “heaven”, and praying to a non-existent imaginary sky-god at public meetings and school functions, I don’t see atheists attacking other non-existent believe systems such as Wicca or Witchcraft, religious environmentalism (Earth-worship), Roman/Greek poly-deism, Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth fairy. While I don’t believe in these ideas, I don’t go out of my way to discredit them either. I don’t put signs on buses claiming a “Zeus-less America”, if someone wants to believe in Zeus then all the power to ‘em! I don’t try to convince children that the presents they get under their tree, in their baskets, or under their pillow really come from their parents because the fact that some little kids believe in the imaginary does no real harm.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 11:28amThey don’t want a Christian cross in the middle of OUR museum, i.e., WTC memorial, however do they have any issue with the goddess Persephone statue, aka Statue of Freedom, on the Capitol Dome in Washington D.C., goddess Athena statue in Athens New York, the god Mars at the entrance of the Capitol building, the god Prometheus Statue at New York’s Rockefeller Center. If the phrase “In God We Trust” is a declaration of government sponsored religion then the Department of Justice’s motto of as Qui Pro Domina Justitia Sequitur or “who prosecutes on behalf of Lady Justice”, i.e. Justitia, or the goddess of justice, is also, however I have not heard of any atheist try to get that one removed thereby rendering our justice system neutral. They fight against pledging allegiance to the flag with “one-nation under God”, however I haven’t seen any fight against the U.N. support of pledging allegiance to the Earth whereas some would consider this a form of Earth-worship.
Some of the names of the months, days of the week, and planets of the solar system are named for fictitious gods, this would therefore be living dependent on false deities because we absolutely cannot function as an American society without conforming to the names given to them.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 11:29amAlthough I do believe in a creator who I call God, I don’t try to abolish the ideas of poly-deists. We as a society have always studied other cultures and their beliefs. We go to Egypt and admire the great pyramids and ancient religious relics. Native-American history is studied in our schools which include spiritual beliefs. I believe that it is important to allow a society to display their common symbolic beliefs in order that future societies will be able to study current history in the future.
From what I understand, Atheists are generally okay with a person can walking into a psychologist’s office, paying someone who has a PhD in the empirical theory of behavior (whereas the word psychology literally means the study of one’s soul, or spirit), and getting advice and counseling in therapeutic means to better oneself. However they see it “immoral” for someone who has a PhD in the empirical theory of theology to collect tithes from people who come for advice and counseling in the means of spiritually bettering oneself; what’s the difference?

Nov. 29, 2012 at 11:30amThey claim that Atheism is the only “ism” that obeys the laws of physics, however the law of conservation of energy states that the total amount of energy in a system remains constant over time, therefore energy cannot be created nor destroyed; where did the energy in our universe come from? Creationists simply believe that the 3-dimentional universe is a closed-energy system which derives its energy from an energy system of which we contribute as God. In fact, the only way the energy in this Universe could possibly exist is from some sort of alternate energy source which we with finite knowledge cannot fully comprehend because the laws of 3-dimensional physics cannot account for where the initial energy derived from (4-dimentions if one considers time a dimension, however Noether’s theorem would debate that the laws of physics is independent of time). So in perspective, religion actually has some rational thought albeit contrary to Atheists.
I’m not here to try to argue my beliefs, or convince they there is a God, I just want to know: why the push towards freedom from religion vice freedom of religion, and specifically main-stream religions such as Christianity and Judaism. How is my fictitious God of Christianity different than the fictitious gods of mythology, or the earth god Gaia, or those of Native Americans? I don’t see atheists trying to eliminate those religious symbols in a similar manner, I wonder about the consistency of their group.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 12:34pmThe ‘fact’ is that we as America have come upon a time where it has become “the cool – in thing” to scream out “atheist rights”. Why? Money – period. The over the top public atheist rants are “in” just like every other reality show on the air. People are watching because it evokes what tiny little emotions that they have left, because in this age of electronic babysitters the people have zero imagination or emotion. We also have the time of a Liberal Admin. and Court system that has allowed these “tax exempt” groups to sue. Atheism isn’t in the hearts of these people, it’s a “business scam” that makes the “leaders” multi millions in law suits. And once the “Dancing with the Stars people” start loosing interest in the ‘shock value’, the atheist will crawl back in their little nests and wait. Here’s one: If this guy wants Gov. to be “fair” to everyone, then why are they trying to get Church to pay taxes – yet it’s “perfectly OK” for the atheist organizations to be TAX EXEMPT?
Listen buddy. My father (life time School Supt.) stated to every graduating class, “High school is over. There is no longer ‘fair and un-fair’. As adults there is only ‘right and wrong’”. Pretty good words to live by. So stop ‘acting’ like a 16 year old drama queen and stop yelling “un-fair…un-fair”. You putz. Nov. 29, 2012 at 4:06pmI too am an atheist. This whole argument over Christmas being supported by the government is ridiculous. I once put up a little Christmas Tree in my office at work, and someone commented on how it was a nice little “Holiday Tree”. I corrected them and said, “I celebrate Christmas, not a generic Holiday. This is a Christmas tree.” It was clearly a very shocking thing for them to hear, but I was somewhat mad at the prospect of being told what my stuff is. It’s a Christmas tree, and tolerance means to accept what I say it is. You don’t have to like it, but you must accept it, otherwise your “Freedom” is impinging on my freedom.
Liberty: Freedom from coercion against non-coercive action
Even as an Atheist, I recognize the cultural and religious importance of Christmas. Christ has had a profound, positive impact on my life. Regardless of this fact, Christmas is a HUGE cultural force. What’s happening now is almost like prohibition. Argue all you want about how bad drinking alcohol is/celebrating Christmas > other holiday… it’s a part of our culture and our country, and changing it is absolutely crazy.
I also agree with the stance, that Christmas Tree’s don’t necessarily represent Christianity. Also, putting them in the public square hardly coerces other peoples’ freedoms to believe and do what they want. Exposure to ideas is not harmful, but mandating them is. No law says “Put a Christmas tree up every year”… these government groups just do it by themse

After reading that book, if any reasonable person can still tell him/herself that there is no God and that there’s nothing special about the Bible, I’d be very surprised. You can also watch Chuck Missler’s presentation of what’s in the book on Youtube (search for “Cosmic Codes” – I think there are 8 volumes total).

Nov. 30, 2012 at 2:34pmThank you for the book recommendation LTB, I will definitely look into it. I have read the Bible as a child, once through in high school, and again all the way through just recently. I’ve read the Book of Mormon, translations of the Koran, many of the holy books associated with these religions. I am also just starting to look into Hindu books.
I must readily admit that I am Agnostic Atheist. My belief rejects the idea of God, but I certainly recognize that I cannot possibly know for sure. I just suspect that there isn’t one, or that the nature of God’s existence is much, much different from what is represented in modern religion. It’s just easier to state that I am Atheist, since most people don’t recognize a distinction.
Anywho, I will catch up to you later once I read the book. It could be a few months, but I will get back to you.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 11:59pmBill babe, admire you for defending birth-of-Jesus celebration, but changing the vocabulary is not the way to do it. We have to use commonly-understood words in the way they are understood today to do battle w/ the atheists. So you claiming “Christianity is not a religion” is just nuts. What is at the heart of this is, a misunderstanding of the First Amendment and its establishment clause. In the parlance of 1780s America–using the vocabulary of the Founders, and understanding that they established our country in part b/c in England the Church of England WAS the official state religion, they wrote the First Amendment to prevent that happening, with, say, the most powerful denomination, Congregationalism, founded by Puritans in Massachusetts. So when the Founders decreed that the gov’t shall not ‘establish’ a ‘religion,’ they meant what we today would call a ‘denomination’ or ‘sect.’ However, they did NOT mean that gov’t should prohibit religious expression, as the atheists want to do, MIS-using the First Amendment. The proof of this is in the actual wording of the Amendment–the atheists only quote the first part. Take it in its entirety and put it in the cultural/linguistic context of the 1780s to understand its meaning today:
“…Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” Think about the tyranny of the Church of England, where many of the Founders grew up, and you’ll understand its true

Every single sentence that you wrote is correct.
Having viewed the many links provided by Christians on this site recently, it seems obvious to me that this attack on Christianity, and it is an attack, is motivated by political goals.
Hardcore socialism, marxism, call it what you will, is attacking Christianity because its philosophy is a major stumbling block to clear socialist goals. I have never quite understood before why American atheists are so aggressive, almost venomous, in the pursuit of their position. Atheists in other countries are seldom so full of vitriol, and the reason has become obvious.
Links provided by some of you guys show that this really has little to do with atheism as such, but rather, it is an attempt to break down community morality and the family unit so that America can be lead by the nose to socialism.
One need look no further than Saul Alinsky.
Rather than getting bogged down in a never-ending arguement about Christianity and atheism, one should attack socialists where they exist ideologically. At the end of the day, no-one can PROVE whether Christianity or atheism is wrong. The only people who know for certain are dead.
One can, however, effortlessly prove that socialism is wrong. The evidence is overwhelming. And, unlike religion, schools are permitted to do it. Eviscerate socialism and the attack on your Christian culture will cease as it becomes pointless.

You should rethink this kind of stuff..it doesnt make good nonsense once you know.
“The only reason Christianity is where it’s at now is because it’s been dragged kicking and screaming through the centuries by secularists.”
Try this one out about “Enlightened Secularists” and their monopoly on Enlightenment.
From Democide Wiki…death by ones own government by R. J. Rummel.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democide
Notice about three quarters of the way down the article this appears.
“His research shows that the death toll from democide is far greater than the death toll from war. After studying over 8,000 reports of government-caused deaths, Rummel estimates that there have been 262 million victims of democide in the last century. According to his figures, six times as many people have died from the inflictions of people working for governments than have died in battle.”
Notice that this is in the last hundred years. You dont have to go back that far to figure this out. Death by ones own government ..in times of wisdom and enlightenment….secularism.
I dont put much stock in secularism and todays government intelligence..including public education since they try to totally avoid such thinking and even such history.
Your tack works well with most people..but not me once I knew about Democide. You are counting on most people not knowing any history. In this you would be correct. But not with me.

“O dear Jesus, cover our nation with Your most precious protection. Forgive us our sins against God’s Commandments. Help the American people to turn back to God. Open their minds to the True Path of the Lord.
Unlock their hardened hearts, so that they will welcome Your Hand of Mercy. Help this nation to stand up against the blasphemies, which may be inflicted upon us to force us to deny Your Presence.
We beseech you, Jesus, to save us, protect us from all harm and embrace our people in Your Sacred Heart. Amen.”

Nov. 29, 2012 at 6:26amChristianity is not a philosophy any one who calls themselves a Christian and is not aware of that fact, has never actually read the text with understanding. Philosophy or in its Greek form philosophia is a doctrine all to its self. The Apostle Paul stated such in two places in biblical text, Acts 17 and Colossians chapter 2.
Christians need to get this straight as philosophia doctrine is the base doctrine of Hegel and his students which include (Feuerbach, Bauer, Sterner and Marx & Engels), as well as Darwin and George B Shaw and a whole host of others. The implementation methods you refer to as Communism or Socialism or Progressivism have as their base philosophia (philosophy) doctrine. Therefore philosophy does not describe a general activity it defines a very specific doctrine which was devised in Athens in respect of the goddess athena.
Quit being dense and look it up for yourself. Start with Hegel who was a professor (professed) of philosophia doctrine at the University of Berlin. There is a solid connection from Hegel all the way back to the Stoic believers in Athens

Correct!
“The only reason Christianity is where it’s at now is because it’s been dragged kicking and screaming through the centuries by secularists.”
What do you mean?
“Christianity was once just as violent and brutal as Islam, they just didn’t have 21st century weapons to prove how peaceful they were.”
That’s a lie. Where has the teaches of Jesus ever said anything close to islam?

Most are gay, sodomizers,or perform some sort of debotchery. Its funny, you never see them go after islam,or the muslim “religion”,maybe because they know its a cult. Nov. 29, 2012 at 8:38amO’rielly is right that Christianity is not a religion but, he’s wrong about it being a philosophy too. It is a state of forgiveness. You are either reconciled to God by faith in His Son or you are not. It’s like being pregnant. You either are [a Christian] or you are not.
The doctrines and associations we join ourselves to in order to share a like un-provable faith is a religion. i.e Catholic, Baptist, Pentacostal, Shiite, Kurdish, Evolutionist, Atheist.
And yes, the Christmas tree is a secular display. You will not only never find a Christmas tree in the Bible (and no, the Baal bush is not a Christmas tree), you will not find Christmas! Christmas or “Christ’s mass” was started by the Catholic church. There is no commandment in the Bible to celebrate the birth of Christ. However, it is a good and acceptable thing to do so, the non-Catholic Christians have continued the tradition.
Those who say a Christmas tree is a religious symbol is laughably stupid.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 9:44am@Moderation – I have had it up to here with people bringing up the crusades as an argument against the peacefulness of Christianity. Seriously, that was way back in the Dark Ages man. If you don’t have anything newer than that you really can’t say squat about us. Christians have more peaceful operations around the world doing good for everyone, Christians, Atheists and other faiths alike. Yes, you do have the few crazies (Westboro) but that again is a few hundred out of hundreds of millions of people.
@Dunkmeister – I have no problem with O’Reilly playing word games to reach an end when it comes to these atheists. To say in that Treaty that it was founded on the “Christian Religion” would be contradictory of the 1st Amendment and the Bill of Rights signed just a few years prior. Look at the writings with references to God. Never is He referred to as “Our Christian God” or “the Invisible Hand of our Christian God”. Will they allow to set up tents to treat the cuts on when there is a Day of Ashoura in Times Square.
The big one will be that I have not seen yet is will Atheists fight tooth and nail to silence a decade old church bell that run once on Sunday, to either turn a blind eye or fight just as hard to allow the call to pray 5 times a day every day.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 11:46pmThe official name of each day of the week also has a pagan origin. If your church has a steeple, its origin dates back to the days of Nimrod and his temples of worship. If you celebrate Birthdays, you’re exalting yourself, and if you light a candle on a cake, you’re practicing witchcraft, and calling on the spirits to grant your wish. The list goes on. If you’re going to condemn one practice, condemn them all, and practice none, lest you be a hypocrite.
“Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know… As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.”

2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

I hope it’s the atheist since they are the ones using every opportunity to take Christians to court whether it be over nativity scenes, Christmas trees, Charlie Brown Christmas movies, crosses, etc., etc., etc. I think it’s the atheist who needs to lighten up! If they don’t believe in Christ then that’s their business but I don’t see how their “non beliefs” trumps my “beliefs”. I would also like to know how many of these “non believers” accept a paid holiday for Christmas. How many accept a Christmas bonus. If they make demands that anything associated with Christ or Christmas be removed because it “offends” them then they had better demand “NOT” to get a paid holiday off and refuse a Christmas bonus if one is given to them by their employer. After all, shouldn’t that also offend them or are only the “benefits” of Christmas acceptable to them.

Nov. 29, 2012 at 7:57amTO TH77 When compared to most American Atheists, I have a unique history. I am a forth generation Atheist My father [b.1905], his father [b.1872] and his father [b.1848, Sweden] were all “Freethinkers” a philosophical movement in Germany and Scandinavia in the 19th Century. Google it, there were protests and arrests for blasphemy and many German and Swedish Immigrants to America of that period were Freethinkers. German towns in the Texas Hill Country of that era banned churches from within their city limits. I’ve known some very strident anti-Xmas folks in my life. My father liked mostly to ignore it and we traveled a lot on holidays. His business gave out year end bonuses and we always called it Winter Holiday. We had a tree a few times, my mother was a social Episcopalian as some participation in the church was part of Virginia Country life, my father rode in an event call the Blessing of the Hounds for years, a fox hunt that starts at a church with a blessing of the dogs & horses. Point is that becasue your reason for seasonal celebration is rooted in your supernatural deity does not equate to non-believers having to forgo the time off or bonuses that are part of the holiday becasue we reject the myth. And that is all the more reason to secularize the event and make it more friendly to all citizens, the Christ in Christmas is not accepted universally and should be kept to private property and the public square’s commemoration be devoid of religious reference or contex

I think he’s in the EXTREME minority on this point. It may be a philosophy, but it’s also certainly a religion. He got zinged by Mr. Silverman and his ego couldn’t take it so he got mad and reduced the discussion to petty semantics. I agree to a point with Mr. Silverman, if the Gov was making Ramadan a national holiday and banks were closed and we were forced to celebrate it or at least forcibly partake of it, then there would be an uproar in America. Just because a majority thinks things should be a certain way doesn’t make it the right way. The beauty of America is that it celebrates the rights of the individual, not just the rights of the majority. I have no problem with Christmas, I’m an atheist and it doesn’t offend me in any way, I celebrate St. Paddy’s Day too, yet I’m not Irish, Pictures of Jesus no more offend me than do pictures of Santa Claus. Nov. 29, 2012 at 12:06amWhile I agree that Bill was over the top and trying to claim that Christianity isn’t a religion is ridiculous, walking past a Christmas tree or nativity scene is NOT being forced to celebrate or partake in the religious tenants of Christianity. If one believes that Jesus was just a man, then you are walking past remembrance of a man’s birth. The fact that a minority (and I am not including you in this) feel the need to not allow others the opportunity to express their beliefs is in itself troubling. Atheists are having their world view expressed by the State every time they remove any mention of God from the public square.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:55pmI think the point Oreilly was trying to make was completely overlooked.
It doesn’t matter if the “Christmas” Holiday is religious or not, saying that it must be changed so that government doesn’t support one religion or another, a holiday which most people in the country support is just dumb.
The reality is this, people like this want to force their belief on people and therefore they assume that as Christians we would like to do the same thing. I don’t care if you support the holiday or not, it is up to you, but having a “Christmas” tree doesn’t imply you need to be of a certain religion.
The only thing Methodists and Baptists have in common is that they are both based on the Bible. Much else about what they believe is no where near the same. Maybe he should do a personal study on the sects themselves to discover how different they are.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:28pmThe guy keeps saying “The Government has to not take sides!” And yet… he wants HIS side to be taken? Pfffft give me a break. “The Government has to treat everyone fairly” he says… but he wants to treat Christians unfairly. What a world he must live in…

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:23pmO’Reilly is too late to the party on this and most subjects. His ego got in the way and in a small way helped to re-elect Obama. His unwillingness to ferret out the truth was a hinderance and we don’t watch him anymore.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 11:16pmCouldn’t agree more.. O’Reilly is a belligerent bully about half the time even in “friendly,” exchanges.. And he was far far too forgiving of obama for my tastes and still is.. I’m pretty much done..

Nov. 28, 2012 at 11:21pmHaven’t watched O’Reilly Factor in a couple of years. Bill lost it a while back and he is too pompous to see it. I can’t believe so many people still watch him.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:20pmOy. A christmas tree is NOT a religious symbol. Christmas is the name of the holiday. Yes, it has Christian origins, and pagan origins before that. Let the individuals decide if they want to celebrate the holiday as a religious one or a secular one, and just can all the fighting. I’m tired of the grinches on one side and the pseudo-matyrs on the other.
