Live TV Fail: Postal Truck Ruins Climax of Idaho Christmas Tree Lighting

Anti-climatic. Disappointing. Doh!

Those might be some of the words you used to describe the Idaho State Capitol tree lighting in Boise if you were watching it on KTVB-TV. That’s because as the countdown to the all-important note of “one,” a United States Postal Service truck drove in front of the camera blocking the exact moment the lights turned on. And of course, there’s video:

I guess it gives new meaning to the idea that the postal service always tries to be right on time.

As much as I support Beck I have to agree. Couple that with the unwarranted sensorship of the Blaze comments, well I hope GB dosn’t become a “I hired too many sabatoaging lefties and I failed” footnote to history.

Hmm perhaps the videographer should have found a different place in which to film or the street should have been blocked temporarily from vehicle traffic and only allowed foot traffic. Live and Learn.

Obviously a violation of separation of church and state. As an athiest I demand the truck participate in the non lighting of my “imaginary’ tree. I also demand the post office refuse to accept and deliver Christmas cards.

  Of course it wasn’t.
  But the camera operator should have taken the traffic into account when setting up the shot.
  Raise the camera up on a platform 10 feet above street level. Problem averted.
  If I were the station’s news division producer I would take scenes like this into account come performance review time.
  If you want to be a professional camera operator you need to think of these things.

Blame the morons that chose that location for their camera… Why not set it up in a spot where traffic has zero chance of impeding the view? If you sit down in a movie theater and a tall guy sits in front of you, it’s not his fault for being tall.
