Two senior, retiring Senate Republicans unveiled their Immigration Reform bill in response to the Dream Act Tuesday–the Achieve Act. Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl and Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson have been working on the bill for a year, which Fox News reports would provide legal status for hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants brought to America as children. The Republican bill, which is highly unlikely to pass in this lame duck session, differs from the Dream Act for it requires applicants to have entered the U.S. before the age of 14 rather 16, and does not offer a special path to U.S. citizenship. Sens. John McCain and Marco Rubio consulted on the bill, even as Rubio is planning on submitting his own proposal on Immigration reform in 2013.
The news comes the same day President Barack Obama met with Mexican President-elect Enrique Pena-Nieto, who claims to fully support the president’s plans on Immigration reform.
On “Real News” Wednesday, the panel debated whether or not the Achieve Act is a good plan, or a hasty reaction to the GOP’s misery with the Latino vote last cycle. Watch a clip below:

Nov. 29, 2012 at 6:56pmIllegalImmigrationcosts.com puts the tab at $338 BILLION annually, plus 30,000 Americans killed by illegals since 2001. We should tolerate this , WHY? If the numbers were 50% off it would still be outrageous, but, the numbers are close. We have close to 20% of Mexicos’ population on our side of the border bleeding us dry. Anglos are so stupido.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:12pmRepublican Ceasar Chavez disagreed on amnesty for illegal aliens. He also did not support FDR’s Bracero Act because it encouraged illegal aliens to come over the border. Ceasar Chavez successful stopped this act. BTW-due to increase of agricultural mechanics it was no longer necessary to hiredall those agricultural illegal aliens as CA Darrel Steinberg wants everyone to believe. Cearsar Chavez was correct in understanding that illegals would be exploited by people like Darrel Steinberg who need them to raise his children, mow his lawn and provide illegal sexual exploitation of women and children to his pedophile Harvey Milk supporters. Now there is the truth.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:12pmFor those who oppose massive legal and illegal third immigration and, above all else, the changing demographics, you will have to speak out loudly: join an immigration reform group, like FAIR (strength thru numbers); when you get a political fundraising letter, return it, with no money, and state your opposition to the immigration tragedy; call a radio talk show to let thousands of listeners know we exist; write/e-mail your local newspapers to express your opinion (so far, three item were printed in The York Post); and, finally, fax your rep in congress. I am sure they delete e-mails concerning this subject very quickly. More can be done on this front. Do your own gardening; don’t go to restaurants. You would be amazed at how money you save. PLEASE FORWARD THIS!!

Nov. 28, 2012 at 9:36pmthe gop.,probably got all the legal latino votes,o’bama, and the democrats got all the illegal votes,it’s very simple.
if your not going to enforce the laws on the books, the gop.will not matter,it won’t be america, theres laws for illegal immagrants, illegals collecting governmernt entitlements, and illegals working in america.
if your not going to enforce the laws,or have a budget, whats all the arguing about.
a person on the panel suggested, the democrats will say the gop.,are treating illegals as second class citizens, see what pravada, and the democrats are doing inch by inch, their putting the word citizen in the talking points, and removing the word illegal, from any dialogue.
as far as i’m concerned the poor blacks, and whites have been treated like second class citizens, this last 2 yrs. has been latino’s,women votes, and lgbt rights,(gay marriage),any talk about poor black, and white citizens,in the inner-cities,o’bama blew through,$5-$8,trillion dollars ,and did’nt create one job.
the inner-cities our going to be o’bama’s civil war,o’bama, and the democrats want to illegally introduce 10′s of millions of latino’s,hipanics, into places where theres already anywhere from 15%-30%,unemployeement,with no increases in entitlemrnts, and inflation, here, and getting worse, there will be fights for food, and other staples, and the drug-gangs will make things worse.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 8:58pmCan we enforce these laws here in the US?
1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.
2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.
3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.
4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, nor any other government assistance programs.
5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
7. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign flag, no political organizing, no “bad-mouthing” our president or his policies. If you do you will be sent home.
8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.
Harsh, you say ?…
The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of MEXICO

Nov. 28, 2012 at 8:47pmWe have laws which we are all required to follow, unless of course you aren’t a citizen and are breaking immigration laws. We get to press 1 to continue in English, pay for bilingual signage in the stores we shop in, get telemarketing calls in Spanish, (even though we are on the do-not call registry but they pretend they don’t understand when you attempt to educate them), we also all pay for bilingual classes, healthcare, translators, ballots, drivers license tests and we are required to be bilingual by certain prospective employers in our own country. Now we are supposed to welcome these illegal aliens after all this, simply because the GOP lost the Latino vote and they represent what? What does the GOP stand for? Absolutely nothing.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 8:27pmThis whole debate is a farce! Either you are for the rule of law or you’re not. While it’s regrettable that some kids get “caught up” in bad things because of the unlawful acts of their parents, it is NOT society’s responsibility to set things right.
People who enter the country illegally should NOT be given ANY special dispensation just because they manage to evade detection for a number of years. Children of those criminals who were brought illegally into the country ALSO should not be given ANY special dispensation just because their parents managed to sneak them into the country illegally and evade detection for a number of years.
Granting ANY kind of ‘amnesty” to those who are in the country illegally, whether they came here as adults or were children brought by their parents, merely condones breaking the law and encourages others to do so.
For those people who were brought into the country illegally by their parents who want to remain in America legally and become citizens, the answer is SIMPLE… leave the country and go back to your country of origin, apply just like everyone else, and then come back when you’ve gone through the process LEGALLY! And, by the way, take your LAW-BREAKING parents with you when you leave!
Kids who were brought to the US illegally by their parents should be pissed-off at their PARENTS, not the rest of society for insisting that the laws of the land be followed!

Nov. 28, 2012 at 9:03pmLet me make this clear. I’m in the emergency room with my child. The doctor says it doesn’t matter that you have insurance we have to care for these illegals first who come in and need our care for free. I tell the doctor okay so write off the $750,000 of medical bills you show for my child because he should get same benefit as those illegals & my insurance company should not charge higher rates because my child had a catastrophic illness. The doctors-it doesn’t work that way. There is something really really screwed up in our health care system & apparantly it’s only getting worse.

It’s NOT about skin color, it’s about obeying the law! It used to be that obeying the law was mandatory, and if you didn’t do so you suffered the consequences. That meant that criminals went to jail and “illegal immigrants” that were caught were immediately deported back to their home country.
Now, because we’ve thrown the concept of “personal responsibility” out the window, we allow criminals to go free on the flimsiest of excuses, and instead of deporting “illegals” we give them welfare, free education, and free health care. No WONDER the moral structure of society is falling apart!
I’m all FOR immigration that takes place LEGALLY, but I’m adamantly AGAINST granting ANY kind of amnesty to illegal immigrants. And I don’t give a damn what race or nationality the immigrant is. If they’re following the law let them come! If they’re breaking the law, send them home!

Nov. 28, 2012 at 8:41pmSadly in TX both George bush & Rick perry have spent decades allowing an open border thinking they were getting these good catholic voters in who would never support the liberal agenda. They were wrong. Now we have decades of illegals who illegally vote for democrap handouts cuz they figure they can still keep their stand against abortion but collect the free Medicaid & SSI & food stamps in the process. Mexican women do not have children by 8 different men. They have 1 man their husband. But when they file for taxes or Medicaid they lie like a rug to get free handouts.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 10:00pmMy in-laws are naturalized citizens from Mexico, they are devout Catholics, they don’t believe in any kind of birth control or abortion and they say they don’t believe in government hand-outs. You would think they would vote GOP, right? Wrong.
They’ve voted Democrat ever since they became naturalized and they will always vote Democrat. Their sons and I have talked to them until we are blue in the face, about what the Democratic Party platform is, which is everything the in-laws say they are against. They will continue to vote Democrat because “JFK was a good Catholic Democrat”. End of story. I told them the Democratic Party isn’t the party it used to be, to no avail.
They believed “El Presidente Boosh” wanted to end social security, (never mind the facts that he wanted to give younger people the choice to opt out), and they have a picture of Pres. Obama inserted in the framed picture of Jesus in their living room in S. CA. There is a sign on their refrigerator that says “Stop the GOP Lies” and when they vote, they put their little “Yo votar” stickers on the dashboard of their car. The GOP fools think by granting any kind of amnesty or immigration reform they will win the Latino vote. Fat chance.
Oh, and my mother-in-law has been in this country since 1959 and still doesn’t speak English fluently. Maybe it is because she doesn’t have to since she can vote and do everything else she wants to do in Spanish. Who pays for all that? We do.

Nov. 28, 2012 at 9:00pmYep. It takes common sense to fix this problem. There is none of that in Washington.
The immigration issue is one of the easiest fixes of all our problems. End all entitlements for anyone not a immigrants. The Mexican brick layer will not bring his family and kids here if they dont get free healthcare, food stamps, and free education. He will work and go home.
