Catholic Priest Tells Fox Hosts: ‘You Guys Look So Angry About This War on Christmas’

Catholic Priest Father Jonathan Morris Tells Fox Hosts: You Guys Look So Angry About This War on Christmas

Fox News Channel

Catholic priest Father Jonathan Morris told the hosts of “Fox & Friends Weekend” that they looked “so angry about this ‘War on Christmas.’”

Morris, a Fox News analyst and frequent show guest, said he himself wasn’t “angry” even though he thinks it’s “silly” for “people to dedicate so much energy to try to get rid of Christmas scenes.”

“The good news is when Christianity has been persecuted, when it has been outlawed, when people have died for this faith, it hasn’t gone away,” Morris said Sunday. “And everybody has an opportunity to make sure that their faith does not go away in this Christmas season and to live that faith as a family, as a community.”

Calling it a “very small percentage of people who are working to try to get rid of these public expressions of faith,” Morris said people should speak up “but without losing the peace.”

“If our Christmas is going to be all about getting upset at people who are trying to take away our Christmas, isn’t that silly, too?”

Asked why it was an “affront” for some people to hear the words “Merry Christmas,” Morris said it would be an offense only “if we were saying as a country, as a government, in our courts, the only public expression of religion should be Christianity because most Americans are Christian.”

“That is not the American way, but the American way is not ‘let’s pretend that we are all the same and because we’re so sensitive we want to make sure that nobody has a public expression,’” he said.

Morris said the court have repeatedly said it is acceptable to display religious symbols based on a community’s tradition as long as you’re open to symbols of other religions.

“If there’s a small town in the United States that is 90 percent Muslim, they should have the right at their courthouse to have an expression of their Islamic faith, absolutely, for sure,” he said. “The courts have said as long as we’re not establishing one religion or another, the free exercise of religion – the other clause – needs to be protected, and that means allowing people to have public expressions of their belief.”

He added, “You guys look so angry about this War on Christmas, you guys — I can tell.”

I love Christmas and I am grateful to be able to celebrate it in what is still a somewhat free country. For me it is a time to express Love, give gifts, allow myself to be in a state of Peace and be grateful for the goodness in Christianity and Judaism and give gratitude to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Interestingly, I am agnostic, an Omnidiest, and I can still love Christmas.

I am very angered by the violation of the 1st Amendment, which clearly states… “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”

Prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Doesn’t the Government stopping people from celebrating Christmas on a public square surely indicate that SOMEONE IN GOVERNMENT is prohibiting the free exercise?

I just wish Christians were as upset about the war on unborn children as they are about the so-called war on Christmas. I don’t know, it’s kinda weird.

1776 it says in the good book that we are to pay a days wages for a days work. Yes we should want to volunteer for God but we must also take care of our responsibilities and if we are to put as much work into defending our faith as others will to destroy it we must SUPPORT those who do. I am no a lawyer but a construction worker who volunteers for many things but I must also support my family.

NOTICE FOLKS!!!! @ ALINIA.D you see the perfect example of a SOROS type/paid TROLL injecting something that was : Not said: Not Inferred but easily a take away for someone else scanning this
thread. Many people (myself included) do NOT have the time to read all the replies; even the article but scan for quick understanding.

This troll states something totally opposite to the article but totally her agenda and it stands there
for folks to see. Ft. Jonathan Morris is a total Man of Faith in GOD and JESUS with reverence to MARY and knows that only ignorance would accept evolution as anything more than a part of creation. (Off the subject: Ask an Atheist/Evolutionist how it was that the ‘highly evolved’ eye in animals and humans was here from ‘the beginning’ -think about that one- !)

Ft. Morris is totally confident, as am I, that there is a GOD; HE did Create everything, HE owns everything and that life is just a training ground for life eternal for those who will accept this. WHY should GOD accept non-believers? He gave us free will to choose. So Choose.
But don’t allow the benevolence of this Catholic Priest (who knows it’s ALL God’s anyway) to be taken out of context. Faith is a decision. It is one that has to be renewed sometime hourly !!
A great way to renew your faith is to be grateful to GOD for what we have been given.

I have to stop typing about 100 characters from the end!

To finish: DO you have any idea how many Muslims have been converted to Christianity once they have heard the words of JESUS away from their hate-filled IMAMS? They (the converted) recognize some parts of the GOSPEL because it was “lifted” from the New Testament by those who made up Islam (which came about 700 years after Christ died and Christianity began) …but they see as do most of us, that Islam does not PRACTICE any of the tenants of Christianity!! They are the opposite, it’s as if Satan himself were mocking GOD with the teachings of Islam…do you think???

The FLAW with Liberalism is that it’s not liberal. It’s a very hide-bound collection of ideas that say:
either you believe as I do or else. There is nothing benevolent about Liberals. Nothing sharing, giving, loving…just “lock-stepped” following — or else!!

Certainly our country is changing and maturing and that’s all just fine — things never “stay the same” they either move forward or slide backwards — but taken point for point, if a thoughtful person compares “progressive Liberals” with Patriots (maybe instead of Republicans, we should have the PATRIOTS PARTY)… if a thoughtful person were to compare, they’d find that the enslavers were the liberals!! PONDER this. Our nation depends upon our thoughtfulness!!

This video is a giant circle jerk.

      “Yes, don’t you agree?”
      “Yes, don’t you agree?”
      “Yes, don’t you agree?”
      “Yes, don’t you agree?”
      “Yes, don’t you agree?”
      repeat…

I am glad he makes the point that if a 90% Muslim community wanted to do it we’d have no issue. Good, at least you aren’t blinded entirely by your faith. However, two wrongs don’t make a right. The issue is not “Christians doing it” the issue is “it’s being done”.

If a local GOVERNMENT puts ornamentation up relating to a religious holiday (Christmas, Hannukah, Ramadan, etc) then that local GOVERNMENT is ESTABLISHING preferential treatment towards that religion. By promoting it over all others it is establishing it over all others.

Someone tell me where this point is getting lost… Surely this must make sense to you.

Patty Henry says that, “There is nothing benevolent about Liberals. Nothing sharing, giving, loving…just “lock-stepped” following — or else!!”

      Patty, or else what?

Patty, for one, you’re confusing religious beliefs and political beliefs. Let’s start with religious beliefs. You certainly can’t believe that liberal pastors aren’t benevolent or interested in helping the poor and those unable to help themselves. If you do, you’ll need to explain that opinion!

Both liberal and conservative churches see as their mission to live the words of Christ: “…And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” As you did to the least of my brothers, you did it to me. That’s the Christian view, and I believe both conservative and liberal pastors are in favor of helping the poor.

But politics is different. You can easily distinguish between conservative and liberal views by asking one question: “Who does this policy benefit?”

Conservative favor governmental policies than benefit the rich, liberals favor policies that benefit the middle class and poor.

Plus he was trying to say that religion and evolution aren’t incompatible, which is a view Catholics, including the Popes, have held for the last 50 years. I think the Catholic religion learned a lesson from the Galileo fiasco. Too bad some Protestant pastors didn’t learn that same lesson.

Today’s Liberals encourage big government (which they used to hate), enormous government debt (on our children’s backs), shutting down free speech, and bigotry against religions and even women (in the form of supporting Muslim misogynists). They have nothing in common with Libs of old, other than their opposition to war and desire to legalize dope. Their leaders want nothing other than to increase their power and enrich themselves on the backs of the people they claim to represent.

      It’s putrid.

“he was trying to say that religion and evolution aren’t incompatible…”

Religion & evolution are most definitely compatible – in fact evolution IS a religion. People worship at its feet, it has its own profits, has no real evidence (can never explain DNA, i.e. information/abstract programming code) & requires blind faith to believe it.
Now the Bible & evolution are COMPLETELY INCOMPATIBLE. The Bible: In the beginning (before time was) God CREATED… (Genesis 1:1); In the beginning WAS the Word & ALL things were made through Him, etc. Evolution/Big Bang: In the beginning was NOTHING & nothing exploded & over gadzillions of yrs nothing turned to soup & goo & out crawled you.

One leads to a devolution of the value of life (& genocide – see the roots of Nazism) & abortion, so on. The other, the Gospel, leads to eternal life & salvation for those that believe. Christ died for their sins according & rose from the dead all foretold in the Word of God (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). One is a religion (evolution). The other the word of the Living & Eternal God, the plan of salvation through the atonement of Jesus Christ to reconcile the relationship between man & his Creator. (Romans 5:10; 2 Corinthians 5:18; Colossians 1:21).

By believing evolution, you call [the] God [of the Bible] a liar. For you not only deny what He said, you deny that death entered the world through sin & thus you deny the need for atonement (mock Christ on the cros

Umm..you obviously have NO idea who Father Morris is….I have been following him and his career for the last 5-6 years. He is a very Godly man, a very intelligent and educated man in science and faith and politics and history, and he has spent many words and much time in print and on air criticizing Obama and even Bush before him. I have even had ACTUAL communication with the man over email. His book “The Promise” was life saving and life changing.
He might be gay but who cares as long as he obeys his duty as a priest and does not act on his urges for any type of sexual contact with another person. As for him voting Democrat…I wouldn’t bet on that…he comes from a fairly well off family that have business ownership in their background and the rest of his family are all highly educated professionals as well. He also belongs to a very conservative and orthodox order of the Catholic Church.
You might want to have a little factual knowledge to back up your lame attempts at antagonism.

And remember, before you whine about the RCC and Democrats….54% voted for Obama in 2008.. .Romney posted big gains in nearly every state, save a few in the Midwest and New England, where he slipped by small margins over what McCain totaled in 2008…Catholics swung to the right this election even if not by that much…mainly the Hispanic Catholic vote is the only thing that saved Obama…

LUKE21, the Bible says the Earth doesn’t move:

1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”

Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm …”

Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable …”

Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”

Isaiah 45:18: “…who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast…”

Do you believe that? Exactly how is the earth “immovable and firm”? The Earth is in constant motion. You know that. So what do these passages mean since they cannot be taken literally? And if these passages can’t be taken literally, how much of the rest of the Bible can’t be taken literally?

      3 issues here:

      1) we weren’t debating science, only the intellectual congruity of claiming Christ while accepting evolution as truth. Any “theologian” that does so is either a wolf – intentionally misleading, or completely ignorant & has no business leading any congregation.

      2) You’re rebut, even if true, does not invalidate my point, much less prove evolution

      3) If you want honest answers on the scientific accuracy of the Bible – which I seriously doubt is your motive – then you can get all the answers you need from a plethora of sources, e.g. Answers in genesis, AE Wilder-Smith, Creation research institute, etc. Or you can read the writings of Newton, Maxwell, or even Galileo: “God is known by nature in his works, and by doctrine in his revealed word.”

But that would require an honest effort – you’d have to want truth & be willing to confront it wherever it leads. Its possible, because I’ve done it. But you just have to want the truth.

Nevertheless I’ll answer your misguided response & not for your sake, but for others that may stumble upon this & be misled.

      @SendTheMeteors cont.

All of the passages you refer to are either miss quoted or from a poor translation (which one(s) are you using?) or you truncate the verse. E.g. from the KJV Psalms 104:5:

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

The word translated “moved” in all of your references (removed in the KJV) is the Hebrew word mote’ meaning:

To waver; by implication to slip, shake, fall: – be carried, cast, be out of course, be fallen in decay, X exceedingly, fall (-ing down), be (re-) moved, be ready shake, slide, slip.

Which hardly implies no motion at all, only stability: He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing (Job 26:7).

On the other hand I could agree w/ you & just argue that Einstein would take issue w/ your premise for all observed motion is relative. E.g. it is possible the Earth does not move, rather all other heavenly bodies, including the Universe itself move in relation to it. Frame of reference being the key.

The Creator has left us His creation as a general revelation & His Word He gave that we could know Him & His redemption. And we all are responsible for knowing it, all men are w/out excuse (Romans 1:16 – 2:6). And know this, that time is short & the day to repent & believe God is at hand. No excuse.

Luke21, that’s an interesting post. I have to says I admire your brass for claiming greater knowledge of the Bible than the Pope, who believes in an old Earth and evolution. I guess a lot of people might wonder what gives you a greater claim on the Truth than the Pope or other priests or pastors who believe the same.

One thing I see we agree on is that the Bible cannot be interpreted literally, unless you are fluent in Hebrew. In the example I gave, when an English version of the Bible says the Earth is “immovable” that could just be a misinterpretation, as could every single other statement made in the Bible.

I guess that also would explain every other contradictory statement in the Bible. The translation from the Hebrew is simply wrong.

Interesting point about Einstein. Yes, frames of reference are arbitrary as far as relative motion. But if you assume the Earth is the center of the universe, the equations describing the motion of the planets becomes far, far more complicated. Plus, you have to toss out Einstein’s Theory of Gravity, which says, in simple terms, that less massive bodies revolve around more massive bodies, not the other way around.

I’m out of space here but I’ll make one more point. If the Earth is only 6000 years old, that means the observable Universe is within 6000 light years of Earth. You won’t find an educated person on Earth who believes that. Yes, this is about science.

Actually that wasn’t the point I made, rather I accused you of miss quoting/representing the Bible & asked you for the translation you were using (but you can’t say which because we both know, you don’t know). But when you cant defend your position, just attack on another unrelated point – disingenuous but obvious.

The amusing thing is the “can’t trust the translations” argument is simply a spin on the oldest lie which goes back to when your father said to Eve “has God indeed said…?” (Genesis 3:1-4; John 8:42-44 – check it out).

So now you’ve switched to defending the pope – from the same political organization that martyred Galileo (a Christian) – your 1st point. We both know you would argue in a different venue that he has no authority to talk about science.

One thing is certain, IF he believes evolution, he is NOT an expert on the Word of God & at a minimum he implicitly:

Denies the need for a Creator.
Denies the cause of death – sin (Gen 2:15-17). Evolution progreses thru death, &
Denies Jesus Christ & the role of the cross (Luke 16:31; John 5:45, 12:27; 1 Cor 15:26, etc.).

This is NOT about science; it is about the incongruity of claiming Christ & believing in evolution (your original post & my response). I could not care less if you believe evolution & big bang theory & I’m not going to try to argue you out of it (I addressed that above) – because truth is not your objective.

As for my authority, it comes the Word of God. You should read it – you might be surprised. Who do you think Jesus had the greatest problem with? The same folks you no doubt do – the religious elite, the popes of the world at the time. And it isn’t my authority it is the authority of my God – Jesus Christ (Acts 1)

The same God that you will one day give an account to & He’ll likely bring to your remembrance this conversation (Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10). So do yourself a favor – repent & believe God – for He does NOT delight in the destruction of the wicked. But don’t take my word for it, read it for yourself (start w/ one of the Gospels and read Romans).

Or, remain in your sin & suffer the ultimate consequence for it. It is appointed unto man to die once & then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27-28). Fear not he who can destroy the body, fear Him who can destroy body & soul in the pit (Matthew 10:28; Revelation 20:6-14; Revelation 21:8). Its your choice & your responsibility (mine was simply to tell you & I’ve done so).

The following quote is one of the main reasons Joseph Ratzinger is now ‘The Pope’. His elevation to the highest seat in Rome has been presented to him by the “Globalist Elite”. And is celebrated by the Roman church, among others. This is pure politics.

When asked about… “Liberation theology.” Ratzinger said.. “The ‘absolute good’ (and this means building a just socialist society) becomes the moral norm that justifies everything else, including–if necessary–violence, homicide, mendacity.” Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger ~ US News & World Report, Dec 2, 1985

      Ratzinger’s terminology defined…

Liberation theology is defined as “Communism and Christianity mixed.” (The “beast”)
Mendacity is simply defined as “lies.”

Communism is evil no matter how much the New World Order pushers says otherwise. It is the ultimate community over the individual. What’s good for the community is what rules the person. If you as a person upset the order, it is better for you to die then the whole community to suffer loss. Now read the following quote from quite a few years ago that were in fact uttered by the proverbial “father’ of this mindset:
“‘It is thus necessary that the individual should finally come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the extistence of his nation; That the position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by the interests of the nation as a whole.”

“‘It is thus necessary that the individual should finally come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the extistence of his nation; That the position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by the interests of the nation as a whole… that above all the unity of a nation’s spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and will of an individual…’”

“This state of mind, which subordinates the interests of the ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise for every truly human culture… The basic attitude from which such activity arises, We call – to distinguish it from egoism and selfishness – idealism. By this we understand only the individual’s capacity to make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow man.’ -The Ominous Parallels, by Leonard Piekoff P 13
These statements were made by Adolph Hitler. He was explaining the moral philosophy of Nazism. (as described by William Shirer in The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich): -The Ominous Parallels, by Leonard Piekoff P 13

Beware of liberals’ third arsenal of a standard attack. When you disagree with a liberal, you are usually either stupid or afraid (the old insert-an-o-phobia deal).

And now lately, we have a third standard attack that, when you disagree with a liberal, you may also just be ANGRY. Yes yes much anger in this one…

So just remember, when you disagree with a liberal, they win the debate everytime because you’re either stupid, scared, or angry. We’ll call it SSA syndrome.

Globalist tyrants, set on domination of our politics, our religion, and our right to free speech. They need us to be contentious with each other as they weave strands of lies to entrap the population of the world….Every bit of energy we spend arguing with each other, is less we have to fight our enslavement. The Catholic church has finally shown the world what it is working toward….and it is not ‘the will of God.’

The Catholic church declares the Bible not a textbook for the Christian faith? I do believe the following verses have proven the Roman Catholic church has been caught red handed telling bold face lies. This not only proves they lied, it also exposes WHY they preach the Bible is “…a dead and speechless book.” They hope to keep the masses out of the Bible mainly because once they open one, they realize who the liar truly is.

      The Bible declares it teaches…
All necessary things which Jesus did – Acts 1:1-2
Certainty of His action and teaching – Luke 1:3-4
Life in the name of Jesus – John 20:30-31
      Instructions to salvation – 2 Tim. 3:15
Commands of the Lord – 1 Cor. 14:37
      The proper conduct – 1 Tim. 3:14-15
      Every good work – 2 Tim. 3:16-17
      Protection against sin – 1 John 2:1
An assurance of eternal life – 1 John 5:13
Standard by which teachers are tested – Acts 17:11
Standard which we cannot go beyond – 1 Cor. 4:6
Blessings from God – Rev. 1:3
Joy that is complete – 1 John 1:3-4
Standard of judgment – Rev. 20:12

Hebrews – 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Alina D. I think perhaps you misunderstand what Fr. Morris said. In a nutshell and very paraphrased, the Catholic Church’s position is that we were all made by God, the Creator. However….we don’t know how God chose to make us. He is God! He could have done it any way he wanted!! We will NEVER know exactly how he created us…until we see him face to face. “Be still…and know that I am God” ; – )

Ask Jonathan Morris where it states in the King James that Jesus (God’s Saviour) was born on December 25th. I would like to know where that information is located. Actually Santa was the first slap in the face to the birth of Jesus theme if you think about it. The socialist did such a good job of removing anything holy and replacing it with a fat man in a red suit that they couldn’t help but step it up another notch. Do children thank God for all the blessings they have through the year? No, the children thank the fat man in the red suit. So who else is depicted with a red suit?

Do I say Merry Christmas, you bet I do. If someone says Happy Hoiday, I say Merry Christmas. It is an event that all Americans share this time of the year. It is a happy event so leave it alone. Do we need the trees or the mangers or the lights? That is a decision of each person in every town to determine and like every other event the majority should rule by community.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and to all a good night!

Mr never fly is likely correct. Christmas is undoubtedly the time of the conception, 9 months later being September the actual time frame of the birth of Christ. Subtle clues in the Word bear this out if you study various Jewish times and traditions as well considering seasons. Several things become apparent to the learned in the Word. Mary’s cousin Elizabeth was 6 months pregnant with John when Mary ran to meet her the next morning to tell her what had occurred the night before. The unborn baby John leaped with joy that morning when Mary approached sensing the Spirit of the Lord. Which to the wise indicates life begins at conception therefore abortion really is murder, something I believe and no doubt so do most Christians.

Now, If you asked him about the Latin Vulgate or the Douay Rheims he might just answer you.

As is, whether my kids celebrate my birthday ON my birthday or celebrate it on any other day of the year, they celebrate ME, I’m not sure God cares what day we celebrate. And with that, the Christian families that I know, celebrate by giving Jesus birthday presents along with the one’s brought by Santa. We go to church and sing His praises.

Believe it or not…we kinda KNOW the time frame of Jesus’ birth….given the region where he lived and died…given the reports from outside the Bible….given the recorded FACTS and EVIDENCE about what now would seem to be a “super nova” event….using Astrophysics we can reverse engineer that the “Star of Bethlehem” occured in the summer months… July or August…September on the outside…of 4 BC…give or take maybe a few years here or there…
We also know that the “census” talked about that Joseph and Mary were travelling to be recorded for was first ordered in 11 BC by Roman laws…the “outer” edges of the empire had a certain time frame from the office order to get their counts done and turned into Roman…(no email or phones or computers to make this easy…messages went by horse and took months each way)…

So we have a window from 11-12 BC to about 3-4 BC for the birth of Jesus…in a summer month…. I am sure Father Morris would know this and tell you as such…Dec 25th is just a “feast day” not the actual day….and was actually used to replace a pagan feast day when the first Christian missionaries were converting Europe from pagan to Christian.

That is why I am no longer Catholic. The Catholic church has let these leftist fake ‘social – justice, power-to-the-people’ priests enter the priesthood and speak for the church. THe church is not so much into saving souls as to promoting socialism and liberation theology. I have met good priests before…men as holy as anyone on earth; but they are far and few between. The Catholic church needs to get a grip on their priesthood ranks and weed them out thoroughly. Better to have fewer priests that are men of God than to have many and have most of them liberal trash.

Dec. 1, 1978: “The truth within this parable that we have told you is all shall see, each person, differently. For is not beauty in the eyes of the beholder? Is not a song for those who listen, and also is not the interpretation?…
The one known as Jesus of Nazara, that soon you shall celebrate his birth — each shall celebrate in a different way. Some shall go into great buildings to give praise unto the Lord for providing this one. Some shall say, “Look, he must have been a god.”
Yet he said unto you, “All these things I do you shall do greater.”
We say unto you, when our words are nothing but written script, you, each of you will take them, and the meaning, to mean different things. This is why we have given you different parables with the same meaning. It makes little difference of the exact date of Jesus of Nazareth’s birth, only to the importance that God did bring forth this birth, as He did others. Be joyful then, and give the greatest gift you can give upon this Christmas Eve to one another – peace, love, hope, faith, and the belief in one another, the total belief, the complete belief within yourselves that the temple of God is not false, that temple lies within you. It is a miracle God performed for each of you, for there is not another like you, you, as each individuals, upon this great galaxy and galaxies and universes. You are a walking miracle. You are the proof of God’s existence.”

Yet you never say things like this concerning the muslim people. More aid comfort and charity has been given to people of other faiths by Christians than by people of any other faith. More death misery and destruction has been given by muslims to people of other faiths than any other faith. I find it interesting that you and your kind so consistently avoid this clearly provable fact just as you consistently accuse Christians of the very evil muslims do. I wonder why it has never occurred to you and your kind that God on purpose makes it impossible to prove He exists so that only by faith can you be saved. Also He is picky about who gets to exist in the eternity and not one soul who refuses to accept Him will make it. Out of love for those who love Him the prideful unbelievers will not be allowed to ever again cause trouble for those who wish to live in peace. Their non existence is the best way to accomplish this. Peace on earth and good will to all who wish to live with peace and good will to all. To hell with everyone else.

Umm…you are clueless…take a look at his body of work and his bio…

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Morris_%28priest%29

Father Morris has links to the most conservative and orthodox organizations in the Roman Catholic Church today…
He is currently working under one of the most conservative US Catholic Cardinals and the face of the US Catholic Church, ArchBishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan of NYC.
Father Morris is obviously being groomed by the US Council of Bishops to become a major playing in the US RCC. He heads up their programming on Sirius radio, writes books about the healing nature of God’s Mercy and Grace, had blog and news articles published routinely, and has become the de-facto go-to guy for all major media outlets when they wish to hear from a Catholic priest. He even has a correspondents and contributors job on Fox News.
Now Fox might not be libertarian enough for some or conservative enough for others…but they are definitely right of center when it comes to Opinion shows instead of strict News shows.

The Father looks to be on the fast track to being made into the US Catholic spokesman since he is more mobile than Dolan and can easily jet around to all the media outlets and give the “party line” so to speak of Dolan without ruffling too many feathers from the Left..which HATES Dolan.

he didn’t say it didn’t exist…he said why are you letting it affect how you feel during the Christmas season….
if the point of this season is to remind ourselves of the birth of Jesus Christ and to celebrate that He came to forgive us our sins and enlighten us as to LOVING our neighbors regardless of what they do, think, or say….the Father’s point was WHY are you angry about this supposed war on Christmas?
Do you really need all the decorations to remind you of why we are celebrating?
Do you need a tree with ornaments on it to be called a Christmas tree instead of a Holiday tree?
I would LOVE and LAUGH at an atheist that said “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” because the meaning of “holiday” is “HOLY DAY”…smile, say thank you, and move on…they won’t get it….
And Father Morris is the correct meaning of a “social justice” Catholic….not the perverted version of “social justice” preached by marxist South American Catholic priests and some here in the USA like Father Pfleger in Chicago…
Here is a left-wing site…Newshound…blasting Father Morris for being in the bag for the Vatican (DUH), FoxNews (right wing conservative mouthpiece that it is), and the EVIL GOP TEA Party conservative wing… So if you think he is a “social justice” Catholic (ie Marxist) you are an IDIOT!
