Guess Which Liberal Fox News Co-Host Goes All Out During the Holidays With Elaborate Christmas Light Display

While he is certainly no fan of conservative principles, Bob Beckel, co-host on Fox News’ “The Five” and the show’s outspoken liberal, is a huge fan of Christmas. In fact, every year for the past two decades he has decorated his home elaborately with Christmas lights and lawn ornaments to celebrate the holiday.

During Monday’s edition of “The Five,” Beckel not only showed viewers how much work he puts into his Christmas display, he also put his softer side on display and revealed that he partly does it to spread the Christmas joy among the children in his neighborhood.

“It’s a labor of love,” he said. “I don’t know how else to put it, because no sane human being would do all this work.”

He continued: “Every year I’m out here and I’m sitting here and I’m thinking should I really do this or not again ‘cause it’s so much work. And then some little kid comes up and says, ‘Mr. Beckel, are you going to put your lights out this year?’ And I say, ‘yeah, I’ll put ‘em out.’â€

In fact, Beckel even had a sign made for his yard that reads: “This display is for all the kids in Brookmont and the big kid who lives here.”

However, the “chosen people” controlled Marxist Media and Hollywood have declared war on Christians and Christmas. Soon we will be talking about not having any semblance of Christmas on display…..along with gay marriage…..and amnesty for illegal aliens. What’s wrong with getting help with your Christmas decorations, especially when it involves climbing up on top of the house, or when you have as many as Bob does? If you have health problems you SHOULD get help. No shame in that. Besides, he said he does it for the kids.

No problem paying for the extra amount on the electric bill either. Beckel is such a pretentious, arrogant POS. Can`t stand the guy. I heard that he is a “teacher” at a college. It’s all good. No one is requiring you to put up all those lights or to pay the electric bill for them. While the lights may be manufactured in China, the people at the hardware store are locals who are also working. And the contractor has to be local, also.

As for him being a teacher at a local college, you may not like the way he speaks or his political positions, but at least he speaks clearly enough to be understood. Much would depend on what kind of course he was teaching. I wouldn’t expect it to be Philosophy 101 or Quantum Mechanics, but who knows.

Actually liberalism is a tight fit with Christianity. Liberals support tolerance of others, support and love of the poor and less fortunate and other values that Christ taught. Liberals believe that we, as a country are all in this together.

What’s weird to me is that evangelical Christians subscribe to the views of the atheist Ayn Rand who held selfishness and greed as the highest value. I don’t see anywhere in the Bible that wealth should be shifted to the wealthiest to make them ever more and more wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

“Deut. 15:7. If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand to your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.”

I know evangelical Christians say that’s an individual choice (whether or not to go to hell), but I like the idea of our entire country following the law of God. I think we should be a Christian nation and, as a nation, follow the laws of God. We are a Christian nation are we not?

We are a “Christian nation” ONLY if you believe in corporal salvation.

Early Americans knew and understood their faith. Today many to most have given up a personal relationship with God, and/or wouldn’t understand what salvation means, the debt paid or the power of actually FOLLOWING CHRIST–the true definition of being a Christian!

Being a member of a religion or “being Baptized” but apostate does not a Christian make. . .

      @Sendthem

Liberalism is not a tight fit with Christianity.

“Liberals support tolerance of others, support and love of the poor and less fortunate and other values that Christ taught. Liberals believe that we, as a country are all in this together.”

Christ taught love the sinner not the sin. As for Tolerance I have yet to see a liberal (Progressive) tolerate someone who does not agree with them. Living in Utah I saw all the tolerance that the liberals gave to Mia Love.

Christ did not tolerate sin. Look at the money lenders in the Temple. He did not show tolerance there. He forgave sins he did not tolerate them. He also instructed “Go and Sin no more”

“I don’t see anywhere in the Bible that wealth should be shifted to the wealthiest to make them ever more and more wealthy at the expense of everyone else.”

Really? Have you read the parable of the talents? To one is give 1 talent to another 5 to another 10? At the end the 5 and 10 had doubled the amount and the one had done nothing with his. So God takes the one away from the man and gives it to the 10. (Also in case you are not aware of it talents referred to Money not Talents ie singing writing etc.)

“Deut. 15:7. If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart”

Help the poor do not pay someone else to do it. (IE no taxes so the Government can do it for you.)

Send, You bring up good points. However, the bible also says that “If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.” Also, it is clear in the first lines of Acts 5 that giving should be an act of the heart, not an act of compulsion.

As I consider the role of Christianity in public policy, I keep coming back to this idea: If Christ wanted to overhaul government, and if in fact he was God, he could have defeated Caesar and brought in a whole new world order. But he didn’t. He wants hearts. The point of Christian giving, I think, is firstly to bring forth the humility and humanity of the giver; to alleviate the suffering of the recipient is the bonus.

So, yes, if we all acting like Christians as you suggest, there would be no welfare system at all. We would just all be taking care of one another. But like most Christian precepts, the sacrifice is way too hard. (it is for me) So the problem is that as a Christian nation, we have the sensibilities to care for one another, but without the personal commitment we have no way to achieve those goals accept through government enforcement. So where do we go from here?

Christmas (Christ Mass) is not and never has been a pagan holiday. That is an anti-Catholic myth. That it was established as a competition and later replacement of a pagan festival does not make it pagan. One of the responsibilities of Christians has always been to share the Good News (the Gospel), and one of the ways we have always done that is through renewal. We take what has been abused and clean it up. Some of the earliest churches began as pagan temples. We took them over and re-dedicated them to God. Nothing wrong with that.
