Hannity Panel Erupts Into Shouting Match During Gun Control Debate: ‘You Shut Your Mouth!’
It seems the gun control debate is reignited after every tragedy involving a firearm, and the recent murder-suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher is no exception. During Fox News’ “Hannity” on Monday, radio host Leo Terrell and author Erik Rush got into a very heated exchange over gun control and whether or not stricter gun laws could have prevented the tragedy.
Host Sean Hannity began by telling Terrell that if someone is “hellbent on killing somebody,” like O.J. Simpson, they don’t need a gun to do it. Terrell is reportedly friends with Simpson.
“I anticipated you using the Simpson case. Shame on you,” Terrell said. “Gun control is an issue where guns are in the hands of people in the urban community and guns are being used to kill people.”
“Do you want to take away people’s Second Amendment rights?” Hannity asked.
“No! I want to be clear about that but I do want restrictions on guns,” Terrell said, adding that anyone who can shoot the mother of his child and then kill himself should not have a gun.
So Hannity asked the obvious question, “Well, how do you tell that ahead of time? You going to look into your little Leo Terrell crystal ball and figure it out?” Terrell answered by accusing the host of “making a mockery” of a serious situation.
Now, despite the fact that Erik Rush did not once interrupt Terrell while he gave his answers, he was not given the same courtesy. After almost every response he gave during “Hannity” on Monday, Terrell was there to holler, cut him off and call him names.
Rush argued that the anti-gun crowd uses “fear mongering” and “histrionics” after every high-profile case involving gun violence to further their agenda, saying they wish to “disarm the public.”
“That’s an absolute lie!” Terrell interjected.
“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t interrupt me,” Rush shot back.
“I will interrupt you! There is not one piece of legislation passed by the Obama administration to restrict guns.”

Hannity attempted to get his guests to play nice, but it was pointless. Terrell made it about 15 seconds before he began screaming again during Rush’s remarks about his opponent being a “black man” who “comes out for all this gun control with specious arguments.”
“Don’t even use race here! Because you are being used right now,” Terrell yelled. “No, no, no. You can go ahead and cut my mic off!”
It was a short time later that Terrell began with the name-calling, labeling Rush “an embarrassment.”
Finally, Rush couldn’t take anymore. “Why don’t you shut up! Just please shut up! Shut up,” he shouted. “You don’t even know what you are talking about.”
“You shut up! You shut your mouth!” Terrell screamed back.

Terrell had absolutely no argument at all; so he resorts to trying to just shout down the opposition. To me, the best part was when Terrell said, “anyone who can shoot the mother of his child and then kill himself should not have a gun.”
On that point, I agree with Terrell, so with that said, Jovan Belcher from this point forward should not be allowed to possess a gun.

Anyone, no matter which side, that is so rude to over-shout and not display appropriate manners when it’s the other side’s turn to talk …. is not respected by the common man/woman. So your point Mr. Terrell becomes mute, due to your lack of common courtesy.
If I wanted to kill someone (yuk at the thought), I’m quite sure I could come up with a way, if no guns were available. Mr Rush was absolutely correct when he stated that it’s our government that’s pushing gun control in order to disarm America. They’ll never do it….too many guns out there already, and folks are not stupid…they most likely have already hidden most of their guns.
And how hard would it be to obtain a gun from another country? We can’t even keep track of illegal people which are much bigger than guns…especially hand guns.

When a criminal wants your money and uses a Gun you are actually not likely to get shot…you will get scared into submission and the criminal gets away. A knife on the other hand is a different story. Because the criminal has to get closer to you he feels like he will have to stab you into submission.
The primary reason for our second amendment was to allow us to defend ourselves AGAINST OUR OWN GOVERNMENT! An armed citizenry is not likely going to be enslaved and abused. We now however do not have a good militia (those who are in one are most of them crazy) and our government has weaponry that would make our hand guns and shot guns look like stone knives and arrows. The government is no more afraid of us then you are of a stray dog. This was not supposed to be the case. We were not supposed to fear our leaders they were supposed to fear us!
If a criminal knows that you do not have a gun or other means of defense will that encourage or discourage him to victimize you? I can kill you with a pencil but if you have a gun my chances are almost NONE that I will succeed. Guns don’t kill people … Criminals do.

There are 2 Department of justice charts you can look at that show which race prefers handguns as a murder weapon, and compare the Department of justice charts for weapons used in murders from the 1970s till now:

Also, the medical community has approx. 90,000 deaths a year due to wrong medication, mistakes, or other things not associated with natural causes.
I remember my aged mom in the hospital several years ago, the nurse was rude to her because she wanted to know what pills they wanted her to take. Finally the nurse checked and found out it was for another patient, not for my fragile mom who might have died from the wrong medication had she not made a point of knowing what she was taking. Dr.’s & nurses aren’t immune to mistakes either.

Here is why…because the media (movies included) have painted us as the Bad guys. Bob Caustic has a image in his mind of a southern white redneck pointing a gun at him and he wants ALL guns gone. But chances are much higher that a Democrat…one of his own…would get him first.

@LonWarner2: Yet another kid who doesn’t realize that “gun control” and “violating the Second Amendment” aren’t commensurate, and really, no one (not even the NRA, really) takes the original intent of the Second Amendment as anything more than a conveniently vapid talking point anymore. After all, I don’t see anyone seriously arguing for the broadbase legalization of munitions and high explosives for the purposes of seriously waging war against the US military in the event of citizen revolt.

All the laws in the land will not stop someone from getting a gun if they want it. Our present law requiring registration is a prime example. A lot of work caused and next to no effect. And with the government handing them out to other countries, are you suggesting that the citizens should not have them but drug dealers outside the country should. For those of you who only understand slogans: “They will take my gun when they pry it from my cold dead fingers”.
