The defense team for George Zimmerman on Monday released the following photo taken by a police officer on the night Florida teen Trayvon Martin was fatally shot:
“This is a photo of George Zimmerman taken by a police officer on the night of February 26, 2012. A black and white photocopy of this image was provided by the State in the first Discovery. This high-resolution digital file was finally provided to the defense on October 29, 2012,” the defense team posted to its website.
“This image was disclosed in the State’s 9th Supplemental Discovery. In accordance with the updates to our media policy that we published on November 13, we will be making all public documents related to the case available on our website, including the rest of the State’s 9th Supplemental Discovery as soon as we are sure it has been properly redacted according to the Court’s stipulations on protecting information regarding specific witnesses,” the post adds.
It remains to be seen if the photo will help Zimmerman’s defense, which maintains he was defending himself during a struggle with Martin that ultimately led to Zimmerman shooting Martin.

I agree with you this is not a joking matter…However with Osama Obama in the WH and justice being color blind (unless you are a white guy with a gun) we need to joke about our current situation. It keeps us sane.
I don’t care if you are purple with two horns we are guaranteed justice right?!?! Is justice punishment because a person died or is it “what is right and lawful”? Does it matter what colors where involved or is it what happened and was it justified and right/legal?
Right and legal are not always equal I get that but our freedoms are actively under attack and this story is one of the most obvious examples of that. If we can’t joke about this I think we would all sink into disrepair!
Our situation is dire and we all (I think) want true justice here. If this guy is a murderer then our courts should kill him. If he is innocent (as I think he is) then we may be witnessing a tragedy beyond a single life! We all may end up like Europe! We may find ourselves in Jail for killing “the kings deer” just as we did 200 years ago………. Let them joke.

We still don’t have all the facts, but obviously Zimmerman didn’t mean to shoot Tre at first since he CALLED THE COPS to tell them what he was doing and asking for advice on what to do next. Even if what you said was true, which it isn’t, since when do you have the right to assault someone for walking behind you?
Zimmerman got out and checked out what was going on, and was then heading back to his truck when Martin attacked him. It’s obvious from evidence that Martin wasn’t attacked, and had no damage done to him at all other than the bullet.
Now this will be hard but here’s where the logic comes in…. If one person has a bloody nose and gashed head, and the other has a bullet hole and is dead… Do you think the bloody nose/head wound was caused before or after Martin was dead? I’m going to say the wounds had to happen first, and as a result, Martin was shot and killed.

You are confusing the initial call when Zimm spotted Trayvon and started to track him, with this instance Zimm concocted to explain why the heck Trayvon was able to attack him. Zimm claims he was walking towards his car, heard Trayvon’s angry voice and turned around. Trayvon threatened him and charged. That’s when Zimm very stupidly claims he reached for his cell phone to call the police, but it had somehow slipped from its usual place in his jacket pocket, so he took his eyes off the rapidly approaching teen to search for his cell phone, and before he knew it wham, Trayvon punched him in the nose and knocked him to the ground. Sounds like you haven’t heard his ridiculous accounts of the events either.
That’s what happens when people lie about something. Sooner or later, they give themselves away. Dumb Dims.

Dec. 3, 2012 at 7:36pmShouldn’t we not rush to judgement and decide who is guilty in the “court of public opinion”. How can you accuse others of hastily and incorrectly rushing to Trayvon’s defense, yet a huge majority of the Blaze commentors are doing the same thing for George Zimmerman.
How do we know Trayvon didn’t attack Zimmerman in self defense? Also, Zimmerman followed Trayvon Martin after police told him not to. If you were walking alone at night and a strange man was following you and started getting closer and eventually ran up behind you — what would you do? We don’t know if Zimmerman was threatening him or what. We do know that an individual with a gun felt the need to engage with an individual in the middle of the night.
In this situation it would seem that (if it is true that Trayvon punched Zimmerman first) Trayvon’s initial physical contact would be the very self defense others are saying Zimmerman used.

First: So you believe that every single democrat (even moderates such as myself) are irrational? So being a democrat automatically makes me incapable of being sensible? The Democratic Party has a wide ranging constituency: look at Democrats in conservative states.
Second: My whole point is that there is not enough information to rush to judgement. If your whole argument is premised on the fact that people supported Trayvon / demeaned Zimmerman when the facts were not clear, how can you now unequivocally support Zimmerman without being hypocritical?
We do not know exactly what happened. A picture of Zimmerman with facial injuries changes nothing. A altercation obviously took place, the question is who was the instigator / the one legally liable.
Third: I do agree that the media rushed to judgment too early. We do not know what occurred and we should wait for the entire judicial process to finish and evaluate the situation when more facts become known.

Obama is not liberal when viewed in light of the 20th Century. Clinton is widely regarded as a moderate. Obama may be a bit more liberal, but what makes Obama so radical.
Health Care Reform: Clinton attempted to institute the same thing, and Democrats since Truman have also. Also, Senate Republicans proposed the individual mandate in the 1990s. Nixon tried to institute HCR during his term that you would probably consider “marxist”.
Also, contrary to popular believe, George W. Bush pushed (thru Henry Paulson, Sec of Treasury) passed the TARP Financial bailout.
Additionally, Socialism and Marxism are not the same.

Obama’s record on Islamic Terrorism? It is actually very good. When Obama came into office, he told his defense team that decimating Al-Qaeda was the number one goal/policy — reversing the Bush Era policy of emphasizing Iraq. With this changing policy, Obama’s administration has absolutely decimated Al-Qaeda’s leadership. In the debates, McCain said he would not go into Pakistan and get Osama bin Laden if he had evidence Osama was there. Then-Senator Obama said he would, with out a doubt. Look what ended up happening.

The power of Citizen’s arrest does not make citizens de facto police with the right to investigate crimes. The power is limited (traditionally) to arresting someone who you actually witnessed committing a felony. This does not give citizen’s the right to go around investigating every individual walking around.
During the 911 call Zimmerman stated: “he’s [Trayvon] running” and then told the dispatcher that he was following Trayvon, despite the dispatcher’s explicit statement not to. Put yourself in the victim’s shoes. You are walking home (Trayvon was close to his father’s house when he was shot). It is dark and rainy out and a car is following/watching you. Because you are scared, you start to run home. This individual proceeds to chase you and eventually catches up to you.
If these facts are correct, it seems likely that Zimmerman unreasonably created a dangerous situation.
Also, Squid: Do not go around correcting other’s grammar when you yourself spell words incorrectly and incorrectly use dependent clauses as sentences.

You are correct … I believe Zimmerman acted stupidly and this could have been avoided.
However likewise put yourself in Zimmerman’s shoes….There has been a lot of break ins and you are the “neighborhood watch”… you see a hooded man looking like he is up to no good and you call 911. You see the “suspect” potentially getting away. The 911 DISPATCHER tells you not to follow but you don’t know who’s house is next so you ignore it not to attack him but to follow him so that the police can do their job. The man you are following sees you and goes on the attack…you fight… you are loosing but you are armed….what do you do? Do you allow him to maybe kill you or do you pull your gun and defend yourself? …. ?

Calling the police on suspects is a good start and sometimes you may need to get involved in “neighborhood watch” groups. However, you have to realize that innocent citizens may not know the intentions of self-described neighborhood watchers like Zimmerman.
Thus, by chasing after someone you “think” is suspicious, but who in reality committed no crimes, when you have absolutely no basis for believing they did something illegal created a very dangerous situation. Everyone talks about Zimmerman’s self defense. What about Trayvon Martin? Is it not reasonable use self when someone has been following you and then proceeds to chase after you when attempted to run away.
I don’t believe Zimmerman intended to commit murder by any means and maybe he was not the instigator.

The bottom line is Zimmerman was not doing anything wrong but insuring that the police found the suspicious person, Trayvon lost his mind and started beating someone for no reason other than the fact that he was following him. Obviously his parents taught him that it was ok to sub-come to violence to solve his problems. In my opinion he got what he deserved “rehabilitation”. I had GREAT hope that a Black man in the WH would by itself heal the race divide in this nation….I did NOT vote for him because I thought he was a Marxist back in late ’07-’08 but would have even with a D by his name had I not thought him dangerous.

I am a white man who is 33. I grew up in Bakersfield CA and did not know (as a boy) that skin color made us different (aside from the obvious “skin color” we were the same). I kid you not it was not until I went to HS that people started talking about MLKJ and the race riots that I learned about the hurts in this country. I knew about slavery but that was way back when people were stupid and now we all knew better! I thought all that was behind us and it no longer mattered if you were white , black, yellow or purple you can make it here and Obama in the WH proved that right?!?!? NOPE!!!
It should have but that would not give him power so he decided to continue the old hatreds… no matter how many of us it hurts!
This story matters not because of the color of those involved but rather in spite of them! Justice needs to be color blind here or we are ALL OF US screwed!

They could have a HD video of Trayvon blindsiding Zimmerman and slapping his head against the concrete and him defending himself and they wouldn’t care they’d still vote guilty… just because… they want to… forget the evidence just like with OJ… they wanted him to walk so that’s the way they voted. Yes..let’s test the blood and see if it’s Zimmerman’s when clearly you can see the man’s nose is broken and the blood is his. The blood has run down from his nose and congealed there and on his lip in a stream. There’s also a small abbrasion at the roof of his nose. And it all corroborates not only Zimmerman’s account but also the witness’s who saw Martin beating Zimmerman’s head against the sidewalk. You’re so marinated in lefty ideals that you just can’t accept that a black juvenile didn’t like how Zimmerman was observing him so he chose to pearl harbor Zimmerman for it. It’s just beyond a black youth to do such a thing right?

And that over 40 of those times they were responding to calls made by a neighborhood watch captain by the name of George Zimmerman. And that in those 40 plus calls he had never before pulled a gun on anyone.
How does someone successfully beat the crap out of someone who has a gun trained on them ready to kill him for the fun of it?

—It’s not illegal to follow someone who is acting suspicious. All that matters is who became physical first, and that’s Martin’s sucker-punch, followed by him slamming Zimmerman’s head in to the sidewalk. At that point, Zimmerman had every right to use lethal force to protect himself from being killed.
Again, the fact that Martin was unarmed is irrelevant. Head meet concrete, die.

Zimmerman DID NOT start this confrontation. Period. He lost sight of Trayvon and was walking back to his vehicle when Trayvon came up behind him, talked trash, and threw the 1st punch. Trayvon is the one who had the options. He could’ve stayed hidden in the bushes or simply ran away. He made the wrong choice and confronted Zimmerman. Which part of that don’t YOU seem to understand.

That’s why cops who kill someone go through a rigorous investigation process after they’re involved in a shooting death. It doesn’t take as long as this process is taking, but they all have to go through it.

Had a washed out effect when it came to showing the blood, and the broken nose was not as obvious. That was given to the defense as part of their discovery process.

And he was not an “innocent teenager.” He sucker punched Zimmerman, and indicated by Martin’s bloodied and bruised knuckles, and then repeatedly slammed Zimmerman’s head on the concrete, which explains the lacerations to the back of Zimmerman’s head.
You see, all the evidence corroborates Zimmerman’s account. All the evidence is in his favor. None of your arguments hold any water.
You should start thinking for yourself and stop being a slave to the media. God gave you a brain…use it!

The only wounds on Trayvon were busted knuckles (like the kind you get from hitting a hard object like a person’s skull) and a bullet hole. While Zimmerman had a busted nose(like you get from being punched) and a cracked skull(like when your head hits something harder than your skull with lot of force and/or repeatedly). The gunshot was instantly fatal so all wounds aside from the gunshot had to have happened BEFORE the gunshot. BTW a cracked skull can be LETHAL so here’s Zimmerman with a possibly lethal wound that happened before Trayvon was killed which corroborates with Zimmerman’s testimony.
