Calif. Teachers Union Releases Cartoon Video Featuring ‘The Rich’ Urinating on the Poor

A new animated video released by the California Federation of Teachers shows the rich “1 percent” urinating on and stealing money from the less fortunate and middle class. The purpose of the video is to explain “economic inequality” and the need for wealthy people to pay their “fair share of taxes.”

The video argues that the rich got richer by evading taxes and using loopholes to hold onto their money. The union claims this is why Congress needs to repeal Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

Narrated by actor Ed Asner,  the full video is currently featured on the official California Federal Teachers website.

Calif. Teachers Union Releases Cartoon Video Featuring The Rich Urinating on the Poor

(cft.org)

Here is how CFT summarizes its new cartoon video:

Tax the rich: An animated fairy tale, is narrated by Ed Asner, with animation by award-winning artist Mike Konopacki, and written and directed by Fred Glass for the California Federation of Teachers.  The 8 minute video shows how we arrived at this moment of poorly funded public services and widening economic inequality. Things go downhill in a happy and prosperous land after the rich decide they don’t want to pay taxes anymore. They tell the people that there is no alternative, but the people aren’t so sure.  This land bears a startling resemblance to our land.  After you watch this video, click here to share with friends, and send an email to your elected officials to let them know they need to restore higher federal tax rates on the wealthy so that we may once more enjoy properly funded public services.

CFT Communications Director Fred Glass, who wrote and directed the video, told TheBlaze the cartoon is not intended for children.

“I love animation and I believe it is an effective way of communicating ideas that is a little different,” he said, adding that there are no plans to show the video in California classrooms.

“The CFT is working on helping citizens understand growing economic inequality and the need to restore tax higher rates for the wealthy in order to fund necessary public services,” Glass added.

The term “poor” has lost its meaning over the past 20 years.

Friggin’ idiots in this country have no clue what it means to be poor; or what it means to put in an actual full day’s worth of work.

Perhaps they should have Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and the other Democrats that are rich peeing on the poor. Also all the Hollywood stars that are rich. When is our country going to stop all this ugly divisive speech. Public unions live off of the taxpayers. I am a taxpayer and I am sick of unions and sick of rich politicians. I want common sense and civility to return to America. One sixth of my income goes to property tax which funds the teacher’s union, that doesn’t include Fed. tax. How long can they rob us to fill their pockets?

You’re absolutely right about that. I remember as a child we had nothing. People on welfare and other public assistance today have all the perks. My poor mom didn’t have a washing machine until I was a teenager and that was some old wringer washer. Until then, she put the laundry in the bath tub and scrubbed them on a wash board and hung them on a line. Life was a chore.

Funny tho, we didn’t know we were poor. Today if they can’t have cell phones, TV’s, microwaves, 2 bathrooms, 2 cars in garage, and all the other goodies, they think they’re being abused. Knowing how I lived as a child, makes me more critical of those who want their cake and eat it too while getting all the goodies given to them for free.

Ha Ha. The rich peeing on the poor. That is so funny, because it’s so true. Why, just this afternoon I was driving through River Oaks in Houston and all of the rich people were out in their front yards peeing on the Mexican peasants who were trimming their bushes. But seriously folks, it’s amazing that parents in California hand over their children to those morons at California’s State run schools every day. All I have to say is that if you entrust your children to the care of morons, don’t be surprised when they grow up to be morons.

Also, something that should disturb everyone in America is that these Leftist Nazi pigs, who demonize the rich, are the same kind of Leftist Nazi pigs who demonized Jewish bankers in Germany back in the 1930s. We all know how that turned out. Well, if you went to a State run school, maybe you don’t… those Leftist Nazi pigs started throwing the rich bankers and their friends into gas chambers. I am not rich, but I do have a lot of rich people in my family – I don’t envy them and I certainly don’t think they owe me anything.

How do you tax the rich. They’ve already made it. The mantra “Tax the rich” is a way to get the less fortunate to go along with raising taxes. It’s a very poor bate and switch routine. How do you determine who’s rich, then how do you tax them. Besides taxing the rich doesn’t do what it’s suppose to. It doesn’t stop government excessive spending which is the real problem. It’s just another crappy way to soak people out of their hard earned cash, be it a lot or be it little. It’s just another government con game.

That’s right, wing. The Christians have certainly redefined what it means to be poor to justify their rewriting of the scriptures which they now believe Jesus condemned the poor and meek for being slackers while praising the wealthy. Just look at all these republican politicians who call themselves Christians or religious while calling for cuts in funding for the poor and elderly just so that the wealthy may have more tax breaks and their constituents that vote them into power.

No longer will the Christians allow 21 century definitions of the poor to include people that actually have a TV, enjoy a $2.00 half gallon of ice cream or a $0.89 liter of off brand soda every once in a while, have a diet that includes more than just rice and beans, actually get to have 3 meals a day, own any car, own a home, have a land line phone, see a doctor when only when you reach 65 years of age or get to purchase clothing once a year.

The Christians want 19th century definition of being poor, no running water, no electricity, eat when you can, wood burning stove, no education and dying young. These Christians will some explaining to do when their time comes.

Higher taxes on people making $250k or more a year is not about getting more revenue, but making it not worth the effort to achieve that standard of living and then in effect forcing a standard of “poor” on every one….excepted of course for the 1% elite who want to set the tax and who made this video……Welcome to the beginning of the a new Roman Socialist Empire…..

What you progressive’s fail to realize is that by taking more money from “the rich” you take away money “the rich” give to charity to help those in need. So, in your world of government controls everything, there won’t be any money left to give to charity or to help those that the government can’t help . Sorry, I forgot that socialism is a guarantee that everyone will be rich. Wait, if every one is rich then all their money will go to taxes making them poor which means that everyone will be poor except those in the government who will be rich and taxing themselves more just so they can have more money and be rich. Socialism sure sounds like a plan guaranteed to make everyone rich except those that are paying their fair share who would then be poor. What a great plan.

When a country rewards (subsidizes) bad choices they are going to get more people making bad choices. You are right Hauschild, being poor has lost it’s true meaning. Being poor used to mean that tradgedy had happened in one’s life that was beyond their control. It usually occured when the father died to leave his wife and children without support. Or when the father became ill and was unable to support his family. These were tradgedies not choices. These people did everything they could not to ask for help. It was humiliating to them.

Not so today. I see women with several children that have different last names and live in subsidized housing. Her children are on food stamps, medicaid, free school breakfasts, lunches, and books. She signs them up every year at Christmas time for gifts from cash-strapped agencies because there are so many of them. And she now has another boyfriend living with her who has no job. I kid you not.

I also see illegal and legal immigrants who have come to our country with their families. They have children here and the children are all considered American citizens who are eligible for a Social Security card and can receive taxpayer subsidizes. We pay for their healthcare which is better than what my working son and his working wife receive for my grandchildren.

Something is terribly wrong with this picture.

But if you’re retired, and never worked, you don’t vote. I guess it would be better stated that if you are on a government handout (and social security or a military pension is not a handout), you don’t vote. Why should we let the takers vote for the ones who promise to take from working people to give to people who don’t want to work?

I actually agree with PUSH on this one (maybe not that way he means). In today’s American culture, the “1%” are used by the left much like “the Jews” were used by Hitler. Demonize them, make them the root of your problems, get people comfortable talking about them and treating them as “subhuman”…then when it comes time to drag them into the streets and put them on the train, no one cares.

Obama and his fascists are doing to the “the rich” what Hitler did to the Jews…ginning up hate to distract the proles. There is a target on the back of every wealthy Conservative in the country and, if push comes to shove, they will suffer the same ultimate fate as Germany’s Jewish population, but through Mob Justice.

In the discussion afterward the leftist discussion lead ignored or asked a person to see him after the discussion. Questions which debunked the leftist view were not to be discussed in a large group. Some people asking questions were shouted down.

Obama voters were more likel than Romney voters to have advanced degrees and a lot of us had Middle Class incomes, and therefore paid income taxes. You will probably find that more Romney voters avoided taxes than Obama voters. (The wealthy get most of their income from dividends and are taxed at much lower rate. Also, many of the wealthiest, folks like the Koch brothers, are registered as corportations and pay no income tax because they “earn” nothing.

Marxist propaganda. Have you noticed that ALL the jobs mentioned come from the government? Also, there is no talk about the legitimate functions of government? Finally, all the jobs mentioned are products of the STATE government. Federal taxation has little to do with that. This is also in California. Their main problem isn’t that they aren’t taxing the rich enough…it’s that the rich high-tailed it to TX and other places WITHOUT income taxes. Read 2084 the Search for Love Hope and Faith. It’s funny because the video blames the Government – Who is in control of the “Government”? The Commie-Crats and Communist obama – Yet these idiots voted for him ! They will get what they deserve – they should stop their whining !

SOCIALISTSLAYER, Shhhhhhhhhh, you weren’t supposed to notice that part. I was laughing out loud at that, and in California the greatest majority of anything to do with government is run by the Dems. Idiots that will argue into a mirror.

Who cares with crap like this going on…this bs is just to keep us occupied while the world burns.

“Now, because no one has stepped in to expose the big lie behind Benghazi, it is nearly certain that the U.S. and NATO will become involved. By not exposing the big lie, American soldiers likely will be on ground in Syria, facing not just Assad’s army, but the Iranians and the Russian armies. The Russians already have about 100,000 soldiers in Syria. There have already been 40,000 deaths in Syria. Are you ready for four million?

As I wrote before, the fuse for WW III has been lit. You are witnessing history playing out right before your very eyes. I mapped out their plan. Has anyone been paying attention?”

Indeed, is no one paying attention?

      @GARY_K

The problem, as I see it, has been termed the ‘Perfect Storm’.

There is not a SINGLE thing that needs to be paid attention to, rather SEVERAL things occurring simultaneously that need to be paid attention to.

There are so many important (and potentially world changing) events that are happening right now, or about to happen, that it is impossible to keep track of them all and more importantly, to act on them all.

The economy, the Arab Spring, the rise of immorality, the rise of Marxism/Socialism…the list goes on and on.

Personally, my head is spinning; things are changing so rapidly.

I hope everyone has prepared, because this could get messy.

California needs to tax its wealthy 80% of net income. Think of all the extra revenue they would raise. Why they could solve their budget crisis. I think we should use the Peoples Republic of California as a test example. See how well their economy and public coffers fair with a massive tax on the wealthy and businesses in that State.

    The left has no shame.
    Only stupid people believe them.
Sadly, there’s plenty of stupid people voting.

The purpose of the video is to explain “economic inequality, need for wealthy people to pay fair share of taxes.” No the purpose of the video is to create more collectivists to create communism here in Amerika. This is another example of why public sector unions shouldn’t exist, they’re indoctrinating kids into communism and we continue to allow their existence. The NEA is only interested in increasing it’s power through membership and nothing else, their brainwashing activities are child abuse and I suggest to parents if you can home school your kids to do so,you’ll be saving their life, literally.

Indoctrination and mind-manipulation of the upcoming generation to ensure the fanatic socialists and communists under Obama snare all the people they can.

So THIS is what the unions want to spend their money on?? Yep, what a way to get people to take you even less seriously than they did before. What a complete bunch of buffoons.

BTW, I guess the union forgot to remind the middle class peons that the union bosses are the 1%. But hey, it’s Kalifornia. At this point, who really gives a toss? Let them fall into the ocean and just be done with it.
