Medal of Honor Recipient Salvator Giunta Opens Up to Wilkow About Battlefield Experiences
Army Staff Sergeant Salvator Giunta is the first living Medal of Honor recipient since the Vietnam War, and was a special guest on ‘Wilkow!’ Tuesday.
Giunta served as a rifle team leader during combat operations in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley. In an October 2007 attack, Guinta exposed himself to enemy fire to pull a comrade back to cover. When he later noticed two insurgents carrying away another fellow solider, Giunta engaged the enemy, killing one and wounding the other before providing medical aid to the wounded U.S. soldier. Guinta was shot and injured as well during the ordeal.
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on December 7, 2012 at 1:42amThe true test of a man’s character comes in the time of terror. Will he save his own skin or put others in front of himself? When you shine the same color of light on the so-called leaders of our nation, I have the feeling that their skin will be safe……. And they will screw the rest!

Posted on December 7, 2012 at 1:35amIt is my belief that the men and woman that defend our nation,
“The Boots ON THE GROUND” are the true leaders of what MY personal beliefs are as an American. If I had to pick someone to mentor my son if I were to be gone, I cannot think of ONE POLITICIAN that I would like my boy to be influenced by. On the other hand……. I could walk into ANY unit, in any branch or service and be guaranteed to find what it means to be A REAL AMERICAN when it comes to Honor, Valor and Duty. God Bless the True Pride in our Country, and keep them safe.

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 1:10pmThe one thing about the Medal of Honor is that something truely horrible and terrifying happened.
SSG Giunta made it clear that a heavy weight was put on his shoulder when he received the Medal of Honor. The weight was all the other men and women in the armed forces who act bravely every day and are not recognized with a medal. If you read the recollections of other Medal recipients, they say much the same thing.

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 11:58amIn spite of all the crap, these real heroes make me proud to be an American. It’s hard to hold on to hope sometimes in these days. Should the Lord tarry, I shall not lose my way. Now let’s bring them home, where they are really needed.

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 8:40amHow proud are you for receiving the medal from President Barrack Obama kinda cheapens the whole meaning behind such awards. You now must claim “I received this from the President Barrack Obama” Feels real good doesn’t it ?

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 9:10amI have a similar deliema to deal with, although at a FAR lower degree and meaning NO disreaspect to the SSgt! I’ll have to have Obama’s name on my retirement certificate now…
At the end of the day America needs MANY more like SSgt Salvatore Giunta. I believe we do have more, unfortunately they’re not properly recognized. How many CMH’s have gone out since the beginning of these campaigns vs. previous campaigns?

Posted on December 5, 2012 at 10:21amThe best way to look at it is that Obama didn’t give it to him. The American People gave it to him. Obama is just the figurehead who physically awarded him, but his valorous actions in combat earned it.
